ABOUT THE ROLE</b></div><div></div><div><br>
The Site Automation Engineer owns the performance and reliability of robotic assembly systems deployed at a major customer site. This role serves as the primary technical interface between the customer, manufacturing partners, field teams, and Bright Machines&rsquo; remote experts. You&rsquo;ll use live data, diagnostic tools, and hands-on automation and robotics troubleshooting to resolve hardware and software issues, drive continuous improvement, and ensure high system uptime. Strong communication, customer focus, and experience in automated manufacturing environments are key to success.</div><div></div><div><br>
This role supports a 24/7 manufacturing site, with scheduled overnight and weekend shifts. To support work-life balance, shifts rotate weekly&mdash;three shifts one week and four shifts the next.</div><div>
You&rsquo;ll be part of an on-call rotation to ensure smooth operations, with a 3-hour remote response SLA and a 24-hour onsite response expectation.</div><div>

Key job responsibilities<br>
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:<br>
<ul><li>Serve as the site expert for maintaining the automation systems that are critical for operations</li><li>Collaborate with building Operations, Operations Engineering teams, FC Start-up Team, AFT Software teams, ACES team, and Safety in supporting MHE systems optimization and project implementation</li><li>Understand, maintain and troubleshoot material handling control systems, including PLC/PC controllers and industrial networks such as Ethernet, ControlNet, DeviceNet, Profibus, motor control systems, servo drives, frequency drives, and electrical distribution systems</li><li>Monitor MHE metrics and partner with maintenance/operations to address system performance issues and provide analysis across all operations</li><li>Provide first-level escalation support for site technicians, both locally and remotely
</li><li>Facilitate Failure Analysis and Incident Review processes to drive continuous improvement
</li><li>Perform and analyze building System Assessments to enhance material handling system performance
</li><li>Communicate technical issues and project timelines clearly to building managers, operations staff and maintenance teams

The position focuses on hands-on BAS system deployment, troubleshooting, and integration work throughout projects located in Mobile, Alabama. You will operate as a key technical resource while supporting engineering teams, electricians, and project managers to ensure reliable automation performance in Mobile facilities. Candidates should have at least three years of practical experience working with building automation or HVAC control technologies and be comfortable working independently at job sites around Mobile, AL.

<li>Assist with retrofit upgrades, control system modernization, and BAS expansion projects across Mobile, Alabama sites</li>
<li>Review wiring layouts, submittals, and technical schematics to ensure installation accuracy</li>
<li>Generate commissioning documentation, service logs, and as-built records for projects in Mobile</li>
<li>Provide technical guidance, site demonstrations, and operational support for end users in Mobile, AL</li>
<li>Coordinate with construction and engineering teams to support successful project completion</li>

<b>Requirements:</b><br>

<li>Minimum 3 years of experience in BAS controls, HVAC automation, or related field service work</li>
