In this role, you will support both retail and internal service operations, working closely with technicians and advisors to ensure accurate parts sourcing and seamless workflow. Your Daily Work Schedule:<ul><li>
Oversees the parts sales process from start to finish.</li><li>
Communicates with staff and customers in a friendly and professional manner.</li><li>
Converses effectively/efficiently regarding customer parts status</li><li>
Reads and understands the parts catalog when looking up and speaking to specific parts.</li><li>
Answers phone calls and provides price quotes and other information to customers.</li><li>
Reviews body shop estimates to verify the parts ordered are correct, and all pricing is in line with the estimate.</li><li>
Provides high level service to both internal and external customers.</li><li>
Pulls/fills orders from stock and maintains weekly bin checks to ensure accuracy of stock.</li><li>
Handle heavy items, including lifting, squatting, and carrying.</li><li>
Assist parts team loading or unloading parts truck.</li><li>
Notifies parts manager of out-of-stock parts or shop materials that need immediate attention.</li><li>
Locate out-of-stock parts from outside sources and submit an emergency order, if necessary.</li><li>
Ensures all internal requests for parts are billed on service repair order.</li><li>
Receives payment from retail customers or obtains credit authorization.</li></ul>

<li>Pull appropriate parts to complete customer order. Tag the orders for delivery.</li>

Job Description 
Purpose:
The Parts Counterperson sells, at retail, parts to all available customers, over the counter, through the shop, or on the phone. 
Duties and Responsibilities:<ul><li>Assist walk-in customers in selecting required parts, suggest companion requirements, offer specials, and ensure that the customer is exposed to the full product line.</li><li>Pull purchases from stock. If the part is not in stock, determine availability and submit an emergency order if requested by the customer.</li><li>Answer phone calls, providing price quotes and other information. Assist outside sales representatives with their orders.</li><li>Set up orders for daily shipment, delivery, or pick up.</li><li>Verify &ldquo;will call&rdquo; and &ldquo;back order&rdquo; files weekly and return to vendors, or stock those items not required. Solicit assigned accounts by phone.</li><li>Assist service technicians in selecting parts needed for repairs in process.</li><li>Open a repair order envelope for all new repair orders.</li><li>Order parts not in stock if, after discussion with Shop Foremen, it is determined that parts are needed and will be used upon receipt or that the customer will return for the required repairs.</li><li>Notify the Shop Foreman and the customer that ordered parts have been received.</li><li>Answer parts phones when front counter is overloaded.</li><li>Ensure that before parts can be charged out, the Technician presents a duplicate copy of the repair order and a parts requisition.</li><li>File the requisition copy in the repair order envelope.</li><li>Be friendly, professional and efficient when working with all customers, both on the phone and in person.</li><li>Provide the same high level of service to the other dealership departments as is given to other customers.</li><li>Issue credit for parts returned, ensuring that the original invoice, or its number, is available so that purchase and pricing can be verified. Exceptions must be approved by the Parts Manager or Business Manager.</li><li>Ensure that all charge back sales are signed by the customers.</li><li>When making tax exempt sales other than to a charge or cash account, ensure that the customer&rsquo;s full name, address, ICC number, and signature is obtained.</li><li>Present the customer with the white copy of the invoice after removing the &ldquo;tear strip.&rdquo; When doing business with regular cash customers, ensure that their &ldquo;cash account&rdquo; numbers are recorded to assure proper customer tracking.</li><li>When a credit card is declined, notify the credit department. If they are not available, either decline to charge the purchase, or release the credit hold in accordance with the dealership&rsquo;s guidelines.</li><li>Keep front and rear counter areas clean and uncluttered.</li><li>Replenish assigned inventory daily. <li>Maintain a valid Driver’s License and clean driving record.</li>
<li>Check in freight, stock, and retrieve parts.</li>
<li>Handle cash and credit transactions.</li>
<li>Help answer telephone and wait on customers.</li>
<li>Work store inventory/assist in other location’s inventory, if assigned.</li>
<li>Maintain a clean facility inside and outside. This includes but is not limited to sweep, mop, pick up trash, straighten and dust shelves, rearrange stock, etc.</li>
<li>Adhere to scheduled work time unless authorized by a manager.</li>
<li>All other job duties as assigned.</li>

 Education and/or Experience
 High School Diploma or equivalent experience or motivation to pursue a GED. Automotive parts and/or customer service experience preferred.
 Language Skills
 Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos. Ability to write simple correspondence. Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers, clients, and other employees of the organization.
 Mathematical Skills
 Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs.
 Reasoning Ability
 Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed but uninvolved written or oral instructions. Ability to deal with problems involving a few concrete variables in standardized situations.
 Computer Skills
 To perform this job successfully, an individual should have basic computer knowledge including web browsing and knowledge of Microsoft Office.
 Certificates, Licenses, Registrations
 Valid Driver's License (Class E required for all Missouri locations), clean driving record.
