SUMMARY
A Firefly Avionics systems engineer will be responsible for defining requirements, architecture, and implementation of avionics systems on launch vehicles and spacecraft. In this role you would represent the avionics team during vehicle-level trades, interfacing with other teams including propulsion and structures teams to determine requirements and integration. Additionally, you would be responsible for developing/coordinating development schedules, developing system level test and operations plans, and supporting launch day activities. Previous launch vehicle experience is not required.
RESPONSIBILITIES
<ul><li>High-level, functional design and development of avionics systems for the current and future launch vehicles, including, but not limited to Flight Termination Systems (FTS).</li>
<li>Writing and review of test procedures, test reports, installation procedures, and check-out procedures.</li>
<li>Coordinate systems level requirements for the launch vehicle with the Avionics team, and develop requirements at the subsystem/component level</li>
<li>Develop design, acquisition and test and verification plans, and coordinate with the rest of the Avionics team regarding execution</li>
<li>Track performance and recommend upgrades as needed</li>
<li>Support vehicle level integration, vehicle testing and launch operations</li>
<li>Coordinate with government approval agencies to define system requirements, obtain approvals for testing, and provide reports on system readiness for Launch</li>

QUALIFICATIONS
Required
<ul><li>Bachelor&rsquo;s degree in Electrical Engineering or Aerospace Engineering, or equivalent</li>
<li>3+ years experience working with aerospace component development, testing, or operations</li>
<li>Experience with aerospace avionics system design, development, testing, or operations</li>
<li>Familiarity with flight termination systems and autonomous flight termination systems is preferred</li>
</ul>
Preferred Skills and Experience
<ul><li>Experience with Range Commanders Council 319 Flight Termination Systems Safety Requirements</li>
<li>Experience in working with government agencies to meet and document systems requirements</li>
<li>Experience with aerospace avionics system design, development, testing, or operations</li>
<li>Experience with project planning, subcontractor management, and other project management skills</li>
<li>Experience performing trade-studies and sensitivity studies to determine/select architecture options</li>
<li>Experience in industry standard root cause corrective analysis techniques, such as fault tree and fishbone analysis</li>
<li>Experience with flight termination systems and autonomous flight termination systems is preferred</li>
<li>Experience with project management is preferred</li>
<li>Experience with environmental analysis and test including thermal cycle, thermal vacuum, shock, and vibration</li>

About the Role
AeroTEC seeks an experienced Principal Engineer - Avionics that will perform design, integration, test and certification tasks with the avionic systems across multiple aerospace programs.
In This Role You Will:<ul><li>
Avionics Design and Certification Activities, including but not limited to:<ul><li>
Create and modify Avionics System Requirements.</li><li>
Create and review Certification Plans.</li><li>
Create and review Component Qualification Test Plans and Qualification Test Reports (QTP and QTR).</li><li>
Review qualification by similarity and/or analysis reports.</li><li>
Review system safety documents (PSSA, SFHA, AFHA, SSA and Particular Risk Analysis).</li><li>

<div>Position Summary:
The Avionics Technician (F-16 Block 50+) Fabricates, maintains, and tests electronic systems and components. Adjusts, repairs, and modifies systems and components, and replaces malfunctioning equipment as needed. May be responsible for requirements analysis, systems analysis, performance analysis, and independent test and acceptance of instrumentation including: Area Surveillance, Telemetry, Radar, or Global Positioning System (GPS) Metric Track (MT). Conducts special technical studies and reports regarding instrumentation configuration, acceptance, and/or performance.
Job Description:
<ul><li>Perform or supervise functions involving installation, repair, testing, and modification on NAV Attack, Flight Controls Radar, SMS, Comm/Nav and ECM systems.
</li><li>Operates avionics systems by using aircraft controls to determine operational condition.
</li><li>Interprets equipment operating characteristics to isolate malfunctions in systems such as attack control, radar infrared, laser, instruments, displays, flight control, communication, navigation, satellite communications, identification, defensive and offensive ECM systems.</li>

Uses technical data wiring diagrams, electronic measurement equipment, AGE/GSE, and special tools.
</li><li>Removes and installs components Performs and supervises alignment calibration and bore sight of avionics systems Uploads operational software into system components
</li><li>Inspects, analyzes and evaluates avionics systems Interprets inspection findings and determines adequacy of corrective actions.
</li><li>Reviews maintenance management publications and procedures Recommends methods to improve equipment performance and maintenance procedures.
</li><li>Performs OJT and instruction, supervises and accepts work performed by RAFO technicians</li>
</ul>
Minimum Requirements:<ul>
<li>
5 years F-16 Bock 50+ or 8 years supporting F-16 aircraft.</li>
<li>
AFSC 2A3X4, 2A354, or 2A374 F-16 Block 50 Integrated Avionics or equivalent
</li><li>Performed and/or supervised functions involving installation, repair, testing, and modification on F-16 Block 50 and up Avionics systems.
</li><li>Must be willing to train to other aircraft maintenance tasks as required.</li>
<li>
High School Diploma</li></ul> 
Clearance Requirements:<ul><li>
Must be able to obtain and maintain facility credentials/authorization. US Citizenship is required for facility credentials/authorization to work at this facility.</li></ul>
Physical/Preferred Qualifications:<ul>
<li>
Frequently lifts parts and equipment up to 25 pounds.</li>
<li>
Occasionally lifts objects up to 50 pounds.</li>
<li>
Most heavy lifting is accomplished through the use of mechanical devices.</li>
<li>
Work is performed in a shop environment that is moderately lighted, heated, and ventilated. Is exposed to disagreeable fumes and to cuts and bruised from using tools in close placed and hazards of moving vehicles such as forklifts in shop area.</li>
<li>
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand; use hands to finger, handle, or feel; and talk or hear.</li>
<li>
The employee frequently is required to walk; reach with hands and arms; and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl and work in tiring and uncomfortable positions.</li>
<li>
The employee is occasionally required to sit, climb, or balance.</li>
<li>
Knowledge of military and/or company forms required by work specifications is a plus.</li></ul>
