Responsibilities:

Support Advocates</b> are responsible for the provision of day-to-day services to our program participants. To assist and/ or teach individuals varying levels of personal care which may include bathing, toileting, teeth brushing etc. so individuals always look and feel their best. To assist and/ or teach individuals household maintenance, meal prep and/or shopping, while providing ongoing opportunities for individuals to assume increasing control &amp; responsibility over their daily lives. Support Advocates may also accompany individuals on appointments as well. Administering medications (or supporting them to self-medicate) in accordance with residential guidelines. To follow routines of the individuals including, but not limited to; Behavior Support Plans, personal care, Physical Therapy, etc</div><div></div><div><b><br>

Job Summary
<br>As a Direct Support Professional (DSP), you will assist individuals in working toward their personal goals. Staff should feel comfortable providing personal care, medical supports, and other daily supports to those they assist. Staff should feel comfortable responding to interfering behaviors.

Job Summary</b></div><div>
You will provide culturally competent, and strength-based peer support to youth, young adults, and families experiencing a behavioral or mental health crisis. Working alongside a Mental Health Care Professional, this position will utilize de-escalation techniques to stabilize the situation; assist in developing a Safety and Action Plan to address priority needs; and, where appropriate, transport individuals to care facilities or alternative placement in the community. Services are provided in client homes or safe community locations (hospital, overnight shelter, transitional housing). You will collaborate with co-workers, supervisors, outside professionals, and others involved in delivering the individual or family&rsquo;s care to meet safety plan needs and action plan goals. As part of a connected, 24/7 regional crisis program, you support care coordination by passing down outreach details and outcomes to our day teams.</div><div><br>
This position is with the Y Social Impact Center, the social services division of the YMCA of Greater Seattle (YGS), serving around 5,000 youth, young adults, and families every year in communities across King County, Pierce County, and various counties across WA. Through our programs we aim to strengthen young people&rsquo;s ability to develop to their fullest potential through four strategies: reducing risk factors; navigating systems towards successful life transition; establishing stability, safety and wellness in times of crisis; and building competencies and social capital. The Social Impact Center&rsquo;s programs include homelessness prevention, housing, behavioral health, crisis response, foster care licensing, violence prevention, and employment. Since many of the young people we serve have been involved in the foster care, criminal justice, behavioral health, and/or homelessness systems, we truly value relatable lived experience of our staff and those applying for our positions as an asset.</div><div></div><div><b><br>
Position Type/Expected Hours of Work</b><br>
This is a full-time, overnight position in which staff are dispatched from their homes to various locations in the community. Dispatches arrive through a phone app, so staff need to be able to hear notifications, wake up, and respond in a timely manner with their shift partner. All crisis work is to be done in-person unless the individual/family explicitly requests a telehealth response.</div><div><br>
After Hours teams are scheduled to provide on-call support every night (weekdays and weekends), including holidays. <b>The hours of work are typically from 6/7:00 p.m. to 8:00 a.m. the following morning. </b>Flexibility is required with some weekend daytime work required as job duties demand.</div><div><br>

<p><b>Overview</b><br/>OPEN HOURS are 10pm-7am. Working between 2-4 nights per week on a temporary-hire basis. Overnight Caregivers are needed for monitoring safety, assisting with personal care needs, and responding promptly to any emergencies or changes in condition while maintaining a calm and respectful environment.</p><p><b>Duties</b></p><ul><li>Monitor resident throughout the night, ensuring safety and comfort while respecting their privacy and dignity.</li><li>Assist with activities of daily living (ADLs), including toileting, repositioning, and personal hygiene as needed In the morning prior to leaving for the day.</li><li>Respond promptly to calls or emergencies, providing necessary support or alerting guardian or supervisors or emergency personnel when required.</li><li>Maintain accurate documentation of overnight observations, vital signs, and any incidents using daily documentation logs.</li><li>Perform deep cleaning duties to ensure a hygienic environment within residents&rsquo; rooms and common areas.</li><li>Utilize specialized equipment such as Hoyer lift, shower chair and catheter system to assist mobility safely and effectively.</li></ul><p><b>QUALIFICATIONS</b></p><ul><li><b>Knowledge of assisted living practices and home &amp; community care standards.</b></li><li>Experience working with individuals with developmental disabilities, or other cognitive or physical impairments is essential.</li><li>Ability to monitor vital signs accurately and respond appropriately to changes in residents&rsquo; health status.</li><li>Strong communication skills coupled with patience, empathy, and professionalism.</li><li>Physical ability to assist resident with ADLs using proper techniques such as Hoyer lifts or manual handling methods.</li><li>Valid driver&rsquo;s license is advantageous for transportation duties related to resident outings or appointments to pick up additional daytime shifts.</li><li>Join our dedicated team committed to providing exceptional overnight care that enhances the quality of life for our residents through compassion, professionalism, and attentive support!</li></ul><p>Pay: $18.50 - $28.37 per hour</p><p>Work Location: In person</p>

Responsibilities:

Primary duties and responsibilities include but not limited to:</b></div><ul><li>
Practices and promotes the agency&rsquo;s mission statement in every interaction.</li><li>
Provide ongoing support to people during the overnight and morning hours (i.e., self-care routines to include toileting, feeding, showering, dressing and diapering), health, safety, alternate positioning and overall well being and to ensure that a high quality of life is maintained.</li><li>
Ensures a safe and clean home by providing support to people to assist them with the completion of household chores and by participating in said household chores as needed (i.e., laundry, etc.)</li><li>
Follows all treatment plans and utilizes all corresponding adaptive and safety equipment needed for each person to promote independence and ensure their health, safety and well-being</li><li>
Reports and documents any events/activities that may hinder the health, safety and well-being of the person that reside there (i.e., allegations of abuse, injuries, broken equipment, falls, etc.)</li><li>
Supports people in the morning with preparing meals by teaching concepts such as diet adherence, portion control and cooking skills</li><li>
Assists people with medication administration according to the AMAP policy and procedures.</li><li>
Accompanies or transports the people supported using safe driving practices to their day programs, or job locations.</li></ul>
Qualifications:
<ul><li>High School Diploma or Equivalent preferred</li><li>
Successful completion and maintenance of AMAP (Approved Medication Administration Personnel) status</li><li>
The ability to communicate and understand written and oral directives/information</li><li>
Excellent team player with a positive attitude.</li></ul><div>
Qualified driver status not required for overnight Direct Support Professionals that work 11pm &ndash; 7am as 911 will be called for all overnight medical emergencies as most overnight staff must remain on grounds to meet minimum staffing requirements. Therefore, as a non-qualified driver, you cannot use an agency vehicle or transport the people we support.</div></div><div></div>
