Expect to work independently day-to-day with regular supervision and code reviews.</p><p>Responsibilities</p><p>Phase 1 &ndash; Current MVP (Next.js/Supabase)</p><ul><li>Develop frontend components and pages in Next.js with TypeScript.</li><li>Work with Supabase for database queries, authentication, and storage.</li><li>Build and extend API routes within the Next.js framework.</li></ul><p>Phase 2 &ndash; Azure Migration</p><ul><li>Help rebuild backend services as standalone Node.js/Express APIs.</li><li>Migrate data and auth flows from Supabase to Azure services (PostgreSQL, App Service).</li><li>Refactor frontend to a decoupled React SPA architecture.</li></ul><p>Throughout</p><ul><li>Write tests (unit, integration) and ensure your code is production-ready.</li><li>Deploy through CI/CD pipelines.</li><li>Communicate progress, flag blockers early, and manage your tasks effectively.</li></ul><p>Requirements</p><ul><li>Residency: Residing in Qatar and available for internship engagement (hybrid/onsite as needed).</li><li>Tech Stack: Full-stack capable: solid React/TypeScript skills and working knowledge of Node.js.</li><li>Frameworks: Experience with Next.js or willingness to pick it up quickly.</li><li>Backend: Comfortable with SQL databases (PostgreSQL) and REST API design.</li><li>Version Control: Proficient with Git; able to work in branches, handle PRs, and resolve conflicts.</li><li>Autonomy: Can take a requirements doc and figure out implementation with minimal guidance.</li><li>Communication: Clear communication in English (Arabic is a plus); proactive about asking questions.</li></ul><p>Preferred Qualifications</p><ul><li>Experience with Next.js App Router, Supabase, or similar frameworks.</li><li>Exposure to cloud platforms.</li><li>Familiarity with authentication patterns (JWT, sessions, OAuth basics).</li><li>Experience with testing frameworks (Jest, Playwright) or CI/CD pipelines.</li></ul><p>Success in this role Looks Like</p><ul><li>You deliver working features on schedule with reasonable quality.</li><li>You work independently but know when to escalate or ask for help.</li><li>You communicate clearly and keep stakeholders updated on progress.</li></ul><p>How to apply:<br/>Send your CV/portfolio plus a short note on a project you've built to careers@applab.qa with the subject: &quot;Software Engineering Intern &ndash; Qatar&quot;</p><p>Job Types: Full-time, Internship</p>
