This paid position offers an exciting opportunity to develop your skills in food handling, retail sales, and customer service while working in a lively, fast-paced environment.Duties<ul><li>Prepare and serve a variety of coffee drinks, teas, and specialty beverages with precision and care</li><li>Assist customers by taking orders, answering questions about menu items, and providing friendly service</li><li>Decorate various pastry items</li><li>Stock bakery items, pastries, and other food products to ensure freshness and presentation standards are met</li><li>Operate POS systems such as Aloha POS and Micros POS accurately for sales transactions and cash handling</li><li>Maintain cleanliness and food safety standards in the caf&eacute; area, including food preparation surfaces and equipment</li><li>Manage food inventory levels, restock supplies, and assist with food prep tasks as needed</li><li>Handle cash register operations with accuracy, including cash handling, cashiering, and basic math calculations</li></ul>Requirements<ul><li>Prior experience as a barista or in food service is highly preferred; coffee experience is a plus</li><li>Familiarity with POS systems such as Aloha POS or Micros POS for efficient sales processing</li><li>Strong time management skills to handle busy periods smoothly while maintaining quality service</li><li>Excellent customer service skills to create positive interactions with diverse guests</li><li>Knowledge of food safety practices and proper food handling procedures</li><li>Ability to perform basic math accurately for cash handling and retail math calculations</li><li>Experience in serving or retail environments within the food industry is advantageous</li><li>Must be able to stand for extended periods and lift moderate loads when restocking supplies</li></ul>Join us to be part of a passionate team dedicated to delivering top-notch caf&eacute; experiences! The Baker&rsquo;s Helper plays a key role in the day to day bakery operations. This position involves preparing dough, glazing pastries, and assisting with baking tasks from start to finish. Working alongside the Bakery Sales Manager, the Baker&rsquo;s Helper helps plan the day&rsquo;s production, gathers ingredients, and follows recipes with accuracy and attention to detail.

Tasks may include applying icing to baked goods, monitoring oven temperatures, and ensuring products meet quality standards. The role also includes providing courteous, helpful service to customers, offering product information, answering questions, and maintaining a clean, organized workspace. The ideal candidates enjoy working in a fast-paced environment, take pride in consistent results, and appreciate the craft of baking. A strong sense of teamwork, reliability, and a focus on customer experience are essential.
