<div>Court Based Treatment and Diversion is seeking a Clinician! The Clinician provides clinical, assessment, treatment planning and consultation services for individuals with mental illness, including those with co-occurring substance use and/or developmental disabilities. Works on site at the General District Court to assist the Court by providing assessment at or prior to the time of arraignment and treatment recommendations. Develops and maintains working relationships with individuals served, families and/or caregivers, other NRVCS programs, and other community agencies and resources as needed to ensure quality services. Provides all services with the intention of helping divert individuals to appropriate community treatment. 
Starting Salary: $50,400-Depending on Experience 
Education/Experience Required:
<ul><li>Master&rsquo;s degree in social work, counseling, or other licensed- eligible human services field is required.
</li><li>State of Virginia License in Social Work, Counseling, Psychology or Marriage and Family Therapy is preferred.
</li><li>License eligibility is required if not fully licensed and registration with the appropriate Board is required within three months of hire.
</li><li>At least one year of clinical experience working with individuals with mental illness, substance use disorders, developmental and/or intellectual disabilities is preferred.
</li><li>Experience working with court or criminal justice programs preferred.

QUALIFICATIONS:
Education:
Minimum of a master&rsquo;s degree in social work, psychology, or counseling.
Licensure:
It requires licensure in LPC, LCSW, or LMFT.
CAS is preferred, in addition to the license, and must be able to obtain CAS certification within 18 months of the hire date.
Experience:
Minimum of 2 (two) years working in the mental health field.
Previous substance misuse treatment experience and expertise with trauma preferred.
Demonstrated experience working with interdisciplinary teams.
Other:
Must understand the American Society of Addiction Medicine (ASAM) and SOAR level of care criteria.
Must have solid verbal and written communication skills.
Proficient computer skills are necessary.
CPR and first-aid certification (the agency pays for initial training and renewals).
Valid driver's license and insurability.

Refer clients to supportive services to supplement treatment and counseling, as needed.Telehealth The clinician must understand when virtual care is appropriate and when a patient is best served with in-person care. Clinicians must demonstrate how to effectively communicate with virtual patients, be able to evaluate signs and symptoms for a patient virtually, and be able to use best practices when delivering virtual care.Supervision Received Clinical Therapists are required to meet with their designated supervisor, on a monthly basis, to review treatment planning and coordination of care for patients. Specific treatment interventions are planned and implemented by the therapist, independently. Situations in which clients are not responding to treatment are to be reported to the Clinical Director and Supervisor. Unethical or illegal issues, and/or any perceived threat to clients or other individuals are to be reported to the Clinical Director immediately. Treatment records may be reviewed at any time.Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities - Ability to understand and follow directions from supervisors, as well as comply with agency and county directives, state laws, licensing rules and regulations, and certification standards that cover mental health, AODA, and the chronically mentally ill. - Maintain electronic case records that are in accordance with HIPAA guidelines and other federal and state regulations. - Demonstrates excellent verbal skills (essential to communicate clearly with clients and other staff members). - Ability to read and understand clinical reports and professional literature. - Knowledge of the spectrum of mental illness, symptomatology, psychotropic medications, and the problems presented in adjusting to life cycle changes. - Knowledge of lifespan issues from child development to issues of aging. - Ability to articulate a coherent philosophy regarding a psychotherapeutic approach or approaches within generally accepted practices of psychotherapy. - Ability to accurately recognize crisis situations, assess potential danger to clients and/or others, and effectively intervene, complete Baker Acts, and assist with hospital transportation, as needed. - Ability to recognize dual diagnosis and substance abuse problems. - Ability to work as part of a mental health team. - Ability to relate to administrative staff in a professional and appropriate manner.
