</b></h2><div><div><div><ul><li>Write behavior support plans, monitoring plans, and behavior guidelines that enhance lives and outline the use of proactive approaches, rights restrictions, and/or psychotropic medications used to address mental health/behavioral concerns.</li><li>
Review all behavior plans and document semi-annually, and write a behavioral summary summarizing behavior documentation and relevant information per 633.16 behavior regulation requirements.</li><li>
Prepare behavior data to attend psychiatry appointments with individuals assigned to caseload. Act as a liaison maintaining contact between psychiatrists/relevant medical provider, counselors, or other mental health professionals and residential/work or day hab team.
</li><li>Provide staff with behavior documentation tools, monitor data, and address concerns as needed. In-service behavior plans as needed at staff meetings.</li><li>
Update and file to appropriate physical/digital location all required paperwork i.e. medication approval forms/reduction plans, behavior plans, summaries, semi-annual reviews, etc, with all necessary signatures/informed consents for approval.
</li><li>Interact with Human Rights Committee monthly providing all required behavior plans, medication forms, informed consents, data, and supporting documentation.
</li><li>Opportunity to become trained to teach SCIP-R/PROMOTE class, as assigned.</li><li>
Attend monthly behavior team meetings, quarterly clinical team meetings, life plan meetings, IDT&rsquo;s, intake/pre-admission meetings, and staff meetings.</li><li>
Complete residential and day hab visits/observations to assess progress/regression and provide recommendations for staff. As needed, provide consultations for individuals not on a caseload, to give recommendations to residential/day hab teams regarding supports.</li><li>
Maintain communication and collaboration with individuals&rsquo; program planning team (guardian, residential and work/day hab teams, care coordinators, clinicians and providers) providing information on supports and psychotropic medication per 633.16 regulation.
</li><li>Provide on-call support to direct support staff weekdays and occasional weekends.</li><li>
Administer assessments/evaluations of mental health status or behavioral concerns; i.e, Lethality Assessment, Motivation Assessment Scale, Reliability Assessment, Functional Behavioral Assessment, etc. as needed.</li><li>
Develop and maintain professional competency through attending conferences, seminars, and/or continuing education.</li><li>
Level 1, as assigned, provide supervision to Level 2 BIS&rsquo;s for the development of behavioral plans that do not include restrictive/intrusive interventions.</li><li>
Submit all behavior plans which incorporate a restrictive/intrusive intervention and/or limitation on a person&rsquo;s rights for review by supervising licensed psychologist, psychiatrist, or licensed clinical social worker per 633.16 regulations.</li></ul>

SUMMARY:</b></div><div>
The Academic Supports Specialist with coordinating supplemental assessments tools, instructional media, and targeted intervention activities that support the achievement of Title I students. The position helps ensure accurate administration of diagnostics, maintains access to supplemental instructional resources, and provides logistical and data supporting intervention programs. This role strengthens the school's capacity to deliver services by supporting intervention staff, monitoring program implementation, and helping ensure compliance with federal requirements.</div><div></div><div><b><br>
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:</b></div><ul><li>
Coordinate state and supplemental district assessments used for program planning, progress monitoring, and intervention placement aimed at identifying and addressing learning gaps specifically for Title I students.</li><li>
Provide training and support for staff administering assessments, interventions, diagnostics, and progress monitoring tools, under the guidance/direction of the appropriate administrator.</li><li>
Maintain secure handling, inventory, and return of all testing materials across assigned campuses.</li><li>
Compile, analyze, and report assessment data to inform instructional planning, uphold accountability measures, and ensure compliance with Title I requirements.</li><li>
Manage and maintain instructional media, and technology resources purchased for instructional or intervention focus, including the production of signage and outreach materials for program communication support.</li><li>
Assist with processing media for circulation, and other related media tasks aligned to academic achievement and supplemental instruction, such as tracking and reconciling inventories of books, digital licenses, and supplemental instructional materials.</li><li>
Provide technical and logistical support for computer-based intervention programs and assessment tools, ensuring consistent implementation and adherence to best practices.</li><li>
Support data collection, reporting, and compliance monitoring for Title I programs, including file and data maintenance of district and state testing results and resource documentation.</li><li>
Support with relevant data for extended-day tutoring, concept recovery programs, and other supplemental interventions.</li><li>
Serve as a liaison between instructional teams, technology testing staff, integrated action plan team and federal programs to align Title I assessment strategies, intervention efforts and compliance requirements.</li><li><div>
Supports the relationship between the Phoenix Union High School District and the public by demonstrating courteous and professional behavior when interacting with students, parents, visitors, and school staff; maintains absolute confidentiality of work-related issues, client records, and school information; follows Government Board Policies; performs all other related duties as required or assigned.</div></li></ul><div></div><div><i><br>

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:</b></div><div><b>
Education, Training, and Experience Guidelines:</b></div><ul><li>
High school diploma or equivalent, AND one year of experience in educational testing, instructional, technical, or clerical support; postsecondary education preferred; OR an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.</li></ul><div><b>
License and Certification Requirements:</b></div><ul><li>
A valid Arizona State Driver's License is required.</li><li>
Must possess a valid Arizona Department of Public Safety IVP Fingerprint clearance card within 90 days of employment.</li></ul><div><b>
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES REQUIRED:</b></div><ul><li>
Knowledge of state testing procedures, FERPA, and district accountability systems.</li><li>
Competency in student information systems, Office 365, and experience with educational technology software and testing management programs preferred.</li><li>
Strong organizational and communication skills; ability to prioritize and meet deadlines.</li><li>
Skill in inventory control, record keeping, and data management systems.</li><li>
Skill in researching, analyzing, and compiling data for reports and technical documents.</li><li>
Ability to travel between district high school sites as needed.</li><li>
Ability to write professional reports and correspondence from provided instructions.</li><li>
Ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing.</li><li>
Ability to follow verbal and written instructions and procedures.</li><li>
