PSYCHIATRIST POSITION SUMMARY</b></div><div>
The Site Psychiatrist provides diagnostic evaluation and treatment to patients as well as psychiatric consultation, diagnosis, and treatment to patients. The Site Psychiatrist provides clinical direction, general supervision, and training to the site staff, and has other managerial responsibilities. They approve, sign, and monitor the implementation and efficiency of all treatment plans.</div><div></div><div><br>
The Site Psychiatrist creates discharge plans to insure appropriate follow-up and support after discharge from the facility.</div><br>

Must be a graduate of medical school and have completed an appropriate psychiatric residency.</li><li>

Provide onsite psychiatric assessment, diagnosis, and treatment of those inmates referred by the medical and clinical services staff.</li><li>
Provide written summaries of history, diagnosis and treatment course.</li><li>
Where applicable, provide psychiatric services for inpatients, assessment, diagnosis, staffing, treatment planning, and regular review of all inmates assigned.</li><li>
Where applicable, provide psychiatric services for all inmates referred to the Healthcare Unit for those inmates in the general population who need regular psychiatric/behavioral health follow up.</li><li>
Where applicable, provide psychiatric services for those inmates who need to be transferred to Behavioral Health facilities. Services to include work up and any court hearing testimony needed.</li><li>
Where applicable, act as regular Psychiatrist and participate in the treatment programming and planning for the</li><li>
Behavioral Health Unit (if applicable) duties include regular staffing and contact with Behavioral Health Unit staff and supervisor, discussion of problem cases, follow up and monitoring of medication, and general psychiatric input.</li><li>
Provide medication management to all inmates admitted.</li><li>
Provide individual and/or group therapy as appropriate.</li><li>

As a Psychiatrist at Amae you will play an integral role in our collective mission to become the center of excellence for SMI care. In alignment with Amae's holistic wrap-around care model, you will co-manage a panel of complex members through behavioral health assessments, diagnosis, treatment recommendations, treatment planning, clinical treatment, medication management, and follow up planning. Working within a collaborative and shared decision making model, you will have the opportunity to partner with clinical staff, peer specialists, primary care providers and community partners. A patient advocate, you will help members navigate the health and social services systems in Los Altos and work closely with patients to address problems and answer questions, gather and provide information and advice, connecting patients to resources and the community. </p><p><b>MaineHealth Behavioral Health (MHBH) is seeking a full-time (1.0 FTE) psychiatrist to join our teams in Portland, Maine</b>, with a unique opportunity to work across two levels of care. This hybrid role offers the opportunity to provide both intensive, team-based psychiatric care and traditional outpatient treatment within a collaborative, multidisciplinary environment.
</p><p></p><ul><li><b>2.5 days per week</b> at our <b>Spring Harbor Hospital Outpatient Clinic,</b> and</li><li><b>
2.5 days per week</b> in our <b>Ambulatory Outpatient Program</b>, both located at <b>165 Lancaster Street</b></li></ul><p></p><p>
</p><p><b>About the Spring Harbor Outpatient Clinic:</b><br>
The Spring Harbor Outpatient Clinic bridges the gap between intensive services (Hospitalization or Partial Hospitalization) and outpatient care, offering an alternative for patient individuals who require more intensive treatment than traditional outpatient visits. The program provides:
</p><p></p><ul><li>Structured team-based approach to delivering</li><li>
Individualized treatment planning with specific tracks and lengths of stay</li><li>
A multidisciplinary team including psychiatrists, social workers, and nurses</li><li>
A focus on reducing psychiatric symptoms and preventing inpatient hospitalization</li></ul><p></p><p>
The selected psychiatrist will serve as a <b>lead of the interdisciplinary team</b>, conduct psychiatric evaluations, manage medications, and guide treatment planning in collaboration with primary care clinicians and psychiatric nursing staff.
</p><p></p><p><b>About the MaineHealth Behavioral Health Outpatient Program:</b><br>
The MHBH Ambulatory Outpatient Program in Portland is evolving into a <b>CCBHC model </b>of care, which ensures timely access to comprehensive, coordinated behavioral health services for individuals and families in Cumberland County. Services include:
</p><p></p><ul><li>Psychiatric evaluation and medication management</li><li>
Individual &amp; family therapy, peer support services, and care coordination</li><li>
Established Dialectical Behavioral Therapy program</li><li>
Trauma-informed, recovery-oriented approaches</li><li>
Support for co-occurring mental health and substance use conditions</li><li>
Telehealth and hybrid care options</li></ul><p></p><p>
</p><p></p><p>Minimum Qualification:
</p><p></p><ul><li>MD or DO with board certification or eligibility in Psychiatry.</li><li>
Current or eligible licensure as a physician by the Maine Board of Licensure in Medicine.</li><li>
Certified by the American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology or be eligible for examination by the American Board as documented by written evidence.</li><li>
Board Certified or board eligible in general psychiatry.</li><li>
Current DEA Registration Certificate.</li><li>
3+ years' experience inclusive residency and/or fellowship training.</li><li>
Experience or interest in partial hospitalization, co-occurring disorders, or integrated care preferred.</li><li>
Strong commitment to collaborative, patient-centered care.</li></ul><p></p><p>
