</p><div><b>ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: </b>Responsible for instructional planning, including, but not limited to, providing lessons plans and preparation for each assigned student in accordance with the objectives of the instructional program, Chicago Public Schools&rsquo; policies and procedures, Illinois Learning Standards, and state and federal law; administering tests and language assessments for the purpose of evaluating students&rsquo; language ability; assessing students&rsquo; progress, expectations, and goals in the bilingual program, developing and delivering lesson plans that utilize appropriate instructional techniques that enable limited English proficient students to overcome barriers that impede equal participation by these students in the district&rsquo;s instructional programs; establishing positive learning expectation standards for students, and evaluating students&rsquo; progress and maintaining current and accurate records of students&rsquo; achievements; implementing instructional methods, including, but not limited to applying contemporary principles of learning theory and teaching methodology, drawing from the range of instructional materials available in the school, participating in the development and implementation of new teaching techniques, and providing bulletin board and interest areas reflective of students&rsquo; current work; exhibiting and applying knowledge of the curriculum content related to subject areas and instructional level; participating in programs to improve student attendance; promoting anti-vandalism programs in the schools; establishing and maintaining responsible rules of conduct within the classroom and on school grounds, including but not limited to, playgrounds, corridors, and lunchrooms, consistent with the provisions of the Chicago Public Schools&rsquo; Uniform Discipline Code; maintaining accurate attendance records and seating charts, encouraging student growth in self-discipline and positive self-concept; ensures fairness in teacher-student relationships and exhibits and understanding and respect for students; initiating appropriate conferences with parents, guardians, administrators, and/or ancillary personnel, in accordance with school procedures; communicating with parents or guardians and counsels students on the student&rsquo;s academic progress, attendance, and conduct; participating in in-service meetings and professional staff meetings and using pertinent information and materials provided; may coordinate and attend class field trips; may work in extra-curricular and after-school activities; utilizing appropriate resources available in the community.</div><br>

JOB DESCRIPTION SUMMARY</b></p><p>
The primary function of the Flight Instructor II is to train customers to become pilots capable of safely demonstrating the skills and knowledge necessary to operate the aircraft for which they are being trained.</p><p><b>
REPORTING RELATIONSHIPS</b></p><p>
Flight instructors with Central Flying Academy report directly to the Flight Training Department Manager. Further, if training students under FAR Part 141 regulations issues specifically related to FAR Part 141 will be addressed to the Chief Pilot over the Part 141 Program.</p><p><b>
WORKING CONDITIONS</b></p><ul><li>
The employee will be required to travel throughout all maintenance spaces, hangars, and across aircraft parking ramps, exposed to the temperature ranges found in Little Rock, AR.</li><li>
The Flight Instructor II will be aware of potential hearing damage from noise related to the operation of aircraft and take the necessary precautions to protect themselves and their student pilots.</li><li>
This is a NON-DOT Safety Sensitive Position as part of the job duties are climbing ladders at varying heights and getting in aircraft to teach students to fly. This position is one in which lapse of attention could result in injury, illness or death. For the safety sensitive employee and others, the employee must be able to work in a constant state of alertness and concentrate on the equipment being used as well as the surroundings on the ramp around moving aircraft.</li></ul><p><b>

The Flight Instructor II will be issued a copy of the Flight Instructor Guidelines at the time of hire and is expected to follow the Guidelines. Any deviation from the Flight Instructor Guidelines must be approved by the Flight Training Manager.</li><li>
The Flight Instructor II must maintain a professional bearing at all times. Also, information of a confidential nature regarding students, fellow employees, or Central Flying Academy must be treated as such.</li><li>
The Flight Instructor II is responsible for insuring the schedule board is kept accurate with respect to their availability.</li></ul><p><b>
MEASURES OF PERFORMANCE</b></p><ul><li>
The measure of the Flight Instructor II&rsquo;s performance is based on the number of students the instructor completes through the training program and the % pass rate of the students completing the course of training.</li><li>

<p><b>Job Overview</b></p><p>The Illinois Works (ILW), Instructor has a vital role in educating and guiding program participants. Specifically, the ILW Instructor will be responsible for delivering occupational skills training, as well as developing curriculum and lead instruction for construction industry courses, such as NCCER Core Construction and OSHA-10, providing delivery and coordination of classroom, hands-on, and worksite training, in the areas of employability skills, construction math and mechanical aptitude training/tutoring. The Instructor performs pre/post training assessments of program participants.</p><p>The supporting activities the ILW Instructor will perform to fulfill the responsibilities of this role include but are not limited to:</p><ul><li><i><b>Curriculum Development </b></i>- Design/develop lesson plans and class materials in line with course objectives and manuals.</li><li><i><b>Teaching - </b></i>Deliver lectures, presentations, and demonstrations in an engaging and effective manner.</li><li><i><b>Assessment &amp; Evaluation</b></i> - Create/administer tests, assignments, and projects to assess participant progress to provide timely and constructive feedback.</li><li><i><b>Classroom Management </b></i>&ndash; Record/certify participant attendance, manage classroom discipline as required and foster an inclusive, positive, productive learning environment.</li><li><i><b>Student Support </b></i>- Offer guidance, mentoring to students on academic matters, provide office hours, tutoring and other forms of student support.</li><li><i><b>Collaboration - </b></i>Participate in scheduled meetings/organizational events (e.g., graduation, orientation), curriculum reviews, work with other faculty members to coordinate course content, share teaching and schedule sessions.</li><li><i><b>Continuous Improvement </b></i>- Participate in programmatic continuous improvement initiatives to enhance delivery of instruction and participant outcomes.</li></ul><p><b>Required Qualifications &amp; Experience</b></p><ul><li>National Center for Construction Education &amp; Research Instructor certification required.</li><li>Expertise in the subject matter, with demonstrated ability to teach the material effectively.</li><li>Prior experience in an academic or vocational setting.</li><li>3 years of experience in construction trades (e.g., carpentry, plumbing, electrical, etc.)</li><li>High School diploma or equivalent</li><li>Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.</li><li>Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.</li><li>Ability to work independently and as part of a team.</li></ul><p>Job Type: Contract</p><p>Pay: From $50.00 per hour</p><p>Expected hours: 25 per week</p><p>Work Location: In person</p>
