Position Function/Purpose</p><p>
Assist the librarian and assist the teacher in the preparation and management of activities and administrative requirements.</p></div></div><div><div><p><br>
Essential Functions</p><p>
1. Uphold and enforce school rules, administrative regulations, and state and local board policy.</p><p>
2. Assist the teacher in preparing instructional materials and classroom displays.</p><p>
3. Work with individual students or small groups to conduct instructional exercises assigned by the teacher.</p><p>
4. Assist with the administration and scoring of objective testing instruments or work assignments.</p><p>
5. Assist in supervising students throughout the school day, both inside and outside the classroom.</p><p>
6. Keep the teacher informed of any special needs or problems of individual students.</p><p>
7. Assist in maintaining a neat and orderly classroom and library.</p><p>
8. Assist in inventory, care, and maintenance of equipment.</p><p>
9. Assist the teacher and librarian in keeping administrative records and preparing required reports.</p><p>

Qualification Requirements</p><ul><li>
Possess, or be willing to apply for, a TEA Educational Aide Certificate (personal expense)</li><li>
Educational Aide certificate as established by the State Board for Educator Certification. The applicant for the educational aide certificate shall</li></ul><p>
 1. hold a high school diploma, the equivalent of a high school diploma, or higher;</p><p>
 2. have satisfied one of the following requirements:</p><p>
 a. has three creditable years of experience, as defined in Chapter 153, Subchapter CC, of this title (relating to Commissioner's Rules on Creditable Years of Service), as either an educational aide I or II; or</p><p>
 b. has completed 30 semester credit hours of college credit with some emphasis on child growth and development or related subject areas;</p><p>
 3. Ability to work well with children</p><p>
