POSITION OVERVIEW</b></p>

The Joint Class Size Assessment Council (JCSAC) allocates Class-Size Bilingual Teacher Assistant positions to address oversized classrooms in Priority Schools and other impacted schools. These positions are reviewed annually and concluded at the end of each school year.</p>
<p>
Under the general direction of the school principal and under the immediate supervision of a teacher holding a valid state certificate directly engaged in teaching subject matter or conducting activities, assists in the instruction of pupils and performs related duties as required.</p>
<p><b>
The Class Size Bilingual Teacher Assistant will be held accountable for the following responsibilities:</b></p>

<li>Utilizes Bilingual skills and assists in the supervision of students during lunchroom and playground activities</li>
<li>Provides security functions within the school, such as monitoring corridors and reviewing studentidentification card</li>

This position is responsible for providing critical links between school and home, advocating student needs, and acting as a liaison with social services agencies. The bilingual intervention specialist will conduct home visits, work with students and keep parents in close communication with the school.</p><p></p><p>

   Participate in the Teacher Advancement Program (TAP) teacher instructionally focused accountability system.

   Attend ongoing applied professional growth groups (clusters).
  </li>

   Participate in the TAP team-teaching/coaching model in collaboration with mentor and master teachers to enhance teacher expertise.
  </li>

   Collaborate on lesson planning and develops expertise in all areas of instruction by working with the mentor and master teachers.
  </li>
  <li>
   Develop expertise through creating and maintaining an Individual Growth Plan (IGP).
  </li>
  <li>
   Use formal and informal assessment to monitor student progress toward the school achievement goals, including cluster focus.
  </li>
  <li>
   Use all resources available to support instructional programs.
  </li>
  <li>
   Align lessons to district curriculum and state standards.
  </li>
  <li>
   Demonstrate accurate content knowledge of all subjects taught to include integration and connection to other content areas.

   Assist in the design and implementation of individualized education programs through diagnostic teaching, instructional adaptations, and individual behavior management techniques.
