Analyzes, troubleshoots and repairs highly complex diagnostic and therapeutic imaging equipment and systems utilizing established electronic test and measurement equipment and techniques. Installs, calibrates and tests highly complex new imaging equipment and/or systems.</li><li>

Acts as a technical resource for Biomedical Technicians and Imaging Technicians to help them grow in ability, responsibility, and experience.</li><li>
Assists in grooming Biomedical Equipment Tech's to provide first call on imaging equipment.</li><li>
Documents and maintains accurate records of all inspections, repairs, adjustments, etc. performed on all equipment performed by self or a vendor.</li><li>
Installs or assists in the installation of new imaging equipment, modifications, tubes, transformers, etc. Assists in the training of imaging staff on the safe and proper use of equipment. Interacts with manufacturers.</li><li>
Representatives to obtain the necessary technical product information.</li><li>
As applicable, coordinates and communicates with a radiation physicist as part of equipment quality assurance testing, calibration, and disposal for site licensing needs with the State department of public health.</li><li>
May assist imaging staff in the selection process for new equipment purchases and installations, may assist with service contract negotiations. This may include site visits and/or meetings with equipment manufacturers. Makes recommendations for capital equipment replacements to Clinical Engineering Leadership.</li><li>
Requests/orders necessary repair and spare parts according to established procedures and contract relationships.</li><li>
Escalates situations or questions beyond their scope of knowledge or responsibility to appropriate staff. Assists in the development of policies and procedures related to Imaging equipment maintenance and use. Assists in research projects and/or new Imaging equipment evaluations.</li></ul><p></p><p><b>

The position will serve along with the Research Biomed Ops Engineers as the service point of contact for CNRI faculty and staff for any equipment/facility and maintenance related issues. The individual will work with the Research Center staff, Children's National Hospital's facility/engineering department, EVS, the safety office, as well as outside vendors. Work independently, handle troubleshooting, installation, preventative maintenance, and service repair needs of Beckman Coulter equipment, including providing excellent and efficient service to Beckman Coulter&rsquo;s customers, along with technical training on products.</li><li>
Maintain accurate customer service logs and internal service records, order repair parts, and adhere to cycle times. Utilize business systems such as OBI, Salesforce, and SharePoint for Service Call Planning and advancing team goals.</li><li>
Engage with internal and external stakeholders, understanding and meeting their requirements, while also helping train newer Field Service Engineers.</li></ul><p></p><p><b>
The essential requirements of the job include:</b></p><ul><li>
Associate degree or equivalent military experience (Applicants with applicable military experience will be considered on a case-by-case basis)</li><li>
At least 1year experience diagnosing and repairing mechanical, electromechanical, robotics, electronic equipment, and/or instrumentation <b>(senior engineers encouraged to apply to be considered at a higher level)</b>.</li></ul><p></p><p><b>
