As a Bookseller, you are part of a busy team and will be required to master the operational competencies of a Barnes &amp; Noble bookseller. 
 
You will be trained and expected to be proficient in: 
<ul><li>Using varied technology, including registers, computers, tablets, programs and other tools comfortably and efficiently.</li><li>Developing strong merchandising skills to maintain the book presentation and cleanliness of the store.</li><li>Developing effective visual merchandising skills to maintain the presentation in gifting, toys and our other product categories, equally.</li><li>Running a register competently to serve customers quickly and reliably.</li><li>Supporting the receiving and unpacking of deliveries, and the efficient and accurate shelving that follows.</li><li>Finding books and other products with ease and accuracy, using a combination of your own knowledge or that of your colleagues, BookMaster and the available information tools.</li><li>Supporting the caf&eacute; team willingly and effectively when needed.</li><li>Understanding loss prevention procedures and de-escalation techniques, identifying theft, spotting and seeking support for problematic behavior and issues in the store.</li></ul> 
All this work requires physical activity which includes prolonged standing, repetitive bending, lifting and a lot of walking. You may work in other stores if you are able and this is needed, collaboratively supporting the wider Cluster.

Each Barnes &amp; Noble bookstore is the product of its bookselling team. You will increasingly contribute as you develop your expertise. You will:

As a retail intern in one of those categories, you will learn how Amazon handles its e-commerce retail business. Working alongside a vendor manager to help provide a suite of services designed to support Amazon's most strategic brands within one of our retail categories. Your priority will be to work backwards from the customer, identifying inputs to grow brands and improve their performance. 
Amazon advertising sits at the intersection of advertising and e-commerce. Customers visit us every day to find, discover, and buy products, so we&rsquo;re obsessed with making the shopping experience the best it can be &ndash; and advertising is a part of that experience. As an intern, you&rsquo;ll gain a deep understanding of Amazon's display advertising products as well as our technical and operational capabilities. You&rsquo;ll learn when and how we can create custom opportunities, and you&rsquo;ll help our account managers create compelling presentations to delight our clients. 
Amazon merchant services covers all third party merchants&rsquo; activity related to selling on Amazon as well as the specific services and products we offer to help develop and grow these sellers.
 
 
Main responsibilities will include: 
<ul><li>Driving end-to-end merchandising roadmaps (incl. planning and coordinate its execution), continuously monitoring outputs, prioritizing based on impact, and delivering against plans. This includes email programs, new product launches, category placements, developing and executing Amazon site-wide and Books specific events WW.</li><li>Working on marketing strategies to drive demand and new customer acquisition across multiple online traffic channels.</li><li>Working closely with multiple stakeholders such as product managers, designers, data scientists, and other international partner teams.</li><li>Demonstrating excellent analytical and technical abilities, and use data to make recommendations that will improve customers&rsquo; shopping experiences, and also drive key business decisions.</li><li>Operating autonomously, delivering against merchandising plans.</li><li>Developing and execute ideas for innovation, automation, and efficiency.</li><li>Becoming an expert for Amazon online marketing tools, processes, and related performance metrics.</li></ul>

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS</h2><ul><li>1+ years of account management, project or program management or buying experience</li><li>Experience using Excel and other business analytic tools</li></ul><h2 class="jobSectionHeader">
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS</h2><ul><li>Experience with software and editing tools (including HTML, Excel and SQL)</li><li>Experience in online retail</li><li>Experience using analytical specific tools such as Google Analytics, SQL or HTML</li><li>Bachelor's degree</li></ul>
