<div><div>South Dakota State University (SDState) is seeking a dynamic Broadcast Services Assistant to help create impactful video, design, and social media content that continues to elevate our athletics brand. This role supports storytelling across multiple sports&mdash;with a primary focus on football&mdash;by producing cinematic visuals and engaging digital content that highlights our student‑athletes, coaches, and programs.<br>

</div><div>This position will support storytelling efforts for the department of athletics through the execution of artistic, cinematic video, hype pieces, digital design, and social media content that highlight staff, coaches and student-athletes to engage fans, enhance the student-athlete experience, generate excitement around athletic programs, and continiue elevate the department&rsquo;s brand while following all departmental, university, conference, and NCAA policies and regulations. This position will work with a variety of sports, but the primary focus will be football.<br>

Students gather, write and record news stories and examine the theories and practice of broadcast news and explore ethical issues related to broadcast stories and newscasts.</p><br>

 to manage, optimize, and secure our enterprise network infrastructure. The ideal candidate will have

  hands-on expertise in WiFi, LAN/WAN, VLANs, routing, firewalls, VPNs, network security, and NMS setup

 . The candidate should also be skilled in

  WiFi noise management, broadcast optimization, and performance tuning

  Key Responsibilities
  <br/>
  <br/>
 </strong>
 <ul>
  <li>
   WiFi &amp; Wireless Network Management
  </li>
  <li>
   Design, deploy, and maintain enterprise-grade WiFi networks with optimal coverage, performance, and reliability.
  </li>
  <li>
   Troubleshoot WiFi issues, manage RF interference, noise cancellation, and unwanted broadcast traffic.
  </li>
  <li>
   Perform WiFi spectrum analysis, channel optimization, and high-density environment planning.
  </li>
  <li>
   LAN/WAN &amp; Network Infrastructure
  </li>
  <li>
   Configure and manage VLANs, Inter-VLAN routing, and network segmentation.
  </li>
  <li>
   Maintain LAN and WAN connectivity, including switches, routers, and network controllers.
  </li>
  <li>
   Optimize network performance and ensure high availability, redundancy, and traffic shaping (QoS).
  </li>
  <li>
   Network Security &amp; VPNs
  </li>
  <li>
   Configure and maintain firewalls, IPS/IDS systems, SSL VPN, IPsec VPN, and secure remote access.
  </li>
  <li>
   Implement network security policies, access controls, and compliance measures.
  </li>
  <li>
   Monitor security logs, detect threats, and respond to network incidents.
  </li>
  <li>
   Network Management System (NMS)
  </li>
  <li>
   Setup, configure, and manage Network Management Systems (NMS) to monitor network devices, WiFi, LAN/WAN, and security appliances.
  </li>
  <li>
   Use NMS for real-time monitoring, alerting, performance metrics, and reporting.
  </li>
  <li>
   Analyze network data to proactively identify issues, optimize resources, and improve uptime.
  </li>
  <li>
   Monitoring, Reporting &amp; Optimization
  </li>
  <li>
   Generate performance and incident reports using NMS and other monitoring tools.
  </li>
  <li>
   Plan and implement network expansion, upgrades, and redundancy measures.
  </li>
  <li>
   Optimize network resources and WiFi performance for multiple devices and high-density areas.
  </li>
  <li>
   Team Leadership &amp; Collaboration
  </li>
  <li>
   Guide and mentor junior engineers in WiFi optimization, LAN/WAN troubleshooting, and security practices.
  </li>
  <li>
   Manage vendor relationships and procurement for network equipment and services.

  Qualifications &amp; Skills
  <br/>
  <br/>
 </strong>
 <ul>
  <li>
   Education: BS (Computer Science, IT, Electronics) or related field.
  </li>
  <li>
   Experience: 5+ years in enterprise networking, including WiFi, LAN/WAN, NMS, and network security.
  </li>
  <li>
   Technical Skills:
  </li>
  <ul>
   <li>
    WiFi: 802.11a/b/g/n/ac/ax, RF planning, spectrum analysis, noise cancellation, broadcast management (Primarily for Unifi Environment)
   </li>
   <li>
    LAN/WAN: VLANs, Inter-VLAN routing, static/dynamic routing, switches, routers.
   </li>
   <li>
    Security: Firewalls, IPS/IDS, SSL/IPSec VPNs, traffic shaping, access control.
   </li>
   <li>
    NMS: Setup, configuration, monitoring, reporting, alert management.
   </li>
   <li>
    Protocols &amp; Services: TCP/IP, DHCP, DNS, NAT, QoS.
   </li>
   <li>
    Optimization: Bandwidth management, high-density WiFi, performance tuning.
   </li>
  </ul>
  <li>
   Soft Skills:

   <li>
    Analytical thinking, problem-solving, and incident management.
   </li>
   <li>
    Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
   </li>

    Ability to work under pressure in complex network environments.
