POSITION SUMMARY
Under the direction of the Project Superintendent, the Assistant Superintendent is directly responsible for coordinating and supervising the assigned on-site construction activities in accordance with project documents, safety and schedule.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS STATEMENTS
Schedule<ul><li>
Manage daily production schedules and maintain documentation, field notes, punch-lists, hot list, lessons learned, etc.</li><li>
Assists with the scheduling and coordination of subcontractors and materials.</li><li>

Take sole ownership and responsibility for your specific assigned duties and ensure quality control. Solely responsible for the quality of your work.</li></ul>
Safety<ul><li>
Enforce safety, clean-up and risk management.</li><li>
Assures OSHA, and all other related safety code compliance.</li><li>
Reports any accidents to the main office immediately and prepares an accident report.</li><li>
Inspects site for safety hazards and notify subcontractors or appropriate authority of violations.</li></ul>
Budget
<ul><li>As directed, assist the Project Superintendent with management of materials purchased by The NRP Group.</li></ul>
Management<ul><li>
Properly schedules, receives, and safely stores materials purchased by The NRP Group.</li><li>
Assist in sequencing of field operations, staging of materials and resources.</li><li>
Help manage the field office, maintain hard files, electronic files and documentation.</li><li>
Manage emails and Outlook folders, hard copy files, etc.</li><li>
As directed, assist the Project Superintendent with managing the private consultant reports and answering to each consultant&rsquo;s list of deficiencies, closing all open items.

Write and execute punch lists (as many times as it takes), re-walk the list(s) and verify that 100% of all items have been completed.</li><li>

SKILLS &amp; ABILITIES
Education:

Responsibilities<ul><li>
Enforcing safety compliance (OSHA and Marand safety plan and policies) and advocating for safety is the number one priority.
</li><li>Supervise the construction effort in the field to ensure that the project is completed in accordance with design, budget, schedule, and customer objectives.</li><li>
Conduct weekly on-site meetings with subcontractors, vendors, and others as appropriate with respect to schedule safety issues, and other matters relating to performance in the field.</li><li>
Enforce compliance with all project procedures, safety program requirements, and work rules.</li><li>
Supervises and ensures the health and safety of the workers by enforcing all company, state, and federal guidelines.

Verification of all layouts and/or checking of layout by subcontractors and the establishment of initial control lines and grades.</li><li>
Respond with clarity to subcontractors with respect to questions regarding the project documents and their work. Provide documentation and coordinate with Construction Manager as appropriate.</li><li>
Participate in pre-construction planning, including logistics, means and methods, bid and scope reviews, and project estimates.</li><li>
Maintain an up-to-date set of contract documents on site.</li><li>
Ensure that the subcontractors are maintaining record drawings (&ldquo;red line as builts&rdquo;) during construction.</li><li>
Responsible for the organization, establishment, and maintenance of the on-site field office to project a professional image (organized, clean, signage, etc.)</li><li>

<div>We are seeking a dynamic and experienced General Contractor Construction Superintendent to join our team and play a crucial role in ensuring the successful execution of construction projects from inception to completion.

Our ideal candidate will have:<ul><li>
A bachelor&rsquo;s degree in construction management, engineering, or a related field, or equivalent work experience</li><li>
At least five years of experience in the commercial construction industry, overseeing all aspects of ground-up projects in healthcare, financial, and light industrial sectors.</li><li>
Strong leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to manage multiple teams, subcontractors, and stakeholders</li><li>
A Construction OSHA 30 within the last 5 years or ability to renew</li><li>
Proficient in project reporting software, MS Office, and blueprint reading</li><li>
Knowledge of building codes, safety regulations, and quality standards</li><li>
Problem-solving and decision-making abilities, with a proactive and results-oriented approach</li><li>
A valid driver&rsquo;s license and the ability to travel to various job sites</li></ul>
Requirements<ul><li>
Leadership: individual needs to have the ability to supervise and lead the team.</li><li>
Organization: individual should be able to schedule and supervise multi-tasking work of a multi-member team.</li><li>
Experience: individual should have required and proven knowledge in commercial building and construction and related sectors.</li><li>
Scope of Work: individual should have experience with running all aspects of large commercial projects from inception to full profitable completion, to including the following: large ground up projects, interior renovation projects of all sizes, finish work, and all relocation and replacement work on project sizes in the $2M+ valuation range.</li><li>
Safety: A Superintendent Level 3 is required, at a minimum, to possess a valid OSHA 30 card at all times while working on Marand projects.</li><li>
Problem-Solving: individual should have and demonstrate good problem-solving skills.</li><li>
Communication: individual should possess and demonstrate excellent communication skills not only with team members, but also with the Project Management and the Customer.</li><li>
Computer Skills: individual needs to be computer literate and should have basic computer knowledge and experience in the use of Microsoft Office and Procore software.</li><li>
OSHA-30 Hour Training Required as well as recertification every 5 years per Marand policy</li><li>
The successful Construction Project Superintendent should have the minimum of a High School Diploma. A Bachelor&rsquo;s Degree from a 4-year College or University or an Associate&rsquo;s Degree from a Vocational School is a plus.
</li><li>A minimum of five to ten years&rsquo; experience &ldquo;on the job&rdquo; is required.</li><li>
Travel is a requirement of this job. Travel can be up to 75%

Responsibilities<ul><li>
Enforcing safety compliance (OSHA and Marand safety plan and policies) and advocating for safety is the number one priority.
</li><li>Supervise the construction effort in the field to ensure that the project is completed in accordance with design, budget, schedule, and customer objectives.</li><li>
Conduct weekly on-site meetings with subcontractors, vendors, and others as appropriate with respect to schedule safety issues, and other matters relating to performance in the field.</li><li>
Enforce compliance with all project procedures, safety program requirements, and work rules.</li><li>
Supervises and ensures the health and safety of the workers by enforcing all company, state, and federal guidelines.
</li><li>Prepare and distribute field reports in a timely manner (i.e., daily superintendent&rsquo;s reports, safety reports, etc.).</li><li>
Completion of punch list items in a time frame consistent with the customer&rsquo;s requirements and the project budget. Procore for punch list management
</li><li>Monitor and direct subcontractor&rsquo;s progress and ensure manpower is adequate to meet project schedule and customer expectations.</li><li>
Prepare as necessary subcontractor work schedules and provide input to the Project Manager in preparing and updating project construction schedules to jointly ensure timely completion.</li><li>
Verification of all layouts and/or checking of layout by subcontractors and the establishment of initial control lines and grades.</li><li>
Respond with clarity to subcontractors with respect to questions regarding the project documents and their work. Provide documentation and coordinate with Construction Manager as appropriate.</li><li>
Participate in pre-construction planning, including logistics, means and methods, bid and scope reviews, and project estimates.</li><li>
Maintain an up-to-date set of contract documents on site.</li><li>
Ensure that the subcontractors are maintaining record drawings (&ldquo;red line as builts&rdquo;) during construction.</li><li>
Responsible for the organization, establishment, and maintenance of the on-site field office to project a professional image (organized, clean, signage, etc.)</li><li>
The timely communication with the Construction Manager on matters regarding financial issues, safety, construction progress, labor issues, material problems, quality, code issues, etc.</li><li>
Interface and work harmoniously with respective Project Managers and other personnel.</li><li>
Manage, oversee, provide training, and act as a mentor to other Superintendent levels.
</li><li>Work in harmony with other Superintendents that may be assigned as part of a team on larger projects.</li><li>
Continue education in areas including OSHA and safety, means and methods, codes, management skills, new technology, etc.</li><li>
Maintain current Red Cross First Aid and CPR certification.</li><li>
Maintain a current working knowledge of the permit process in those communities where performing work and communicate information on changes to the office.</li><li>
Ensures overall cleanliness of the jobsite to Marand&rsquo;s standards.</li></ul>

Ability to work night shifts</li><li>
Dexterity of hands and fingers to operate a company iPad, phone, and other business machines</li><li>
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to sit, stand and walk. Generally, the job requires 20% sitting, 40% walking, and 40% standing.</li><li>

The job is performed indoors in a variety of settings, including the office, interior building job sites, and job sites outside. While performing the duties of this job on a construction job site, the employee may be exposed to wet and/or humid conditions; moving mechanical parts; high, precarious places; fumes or airborne particles (before the use of air scrubbers); outside weather conditions; extreme cold and extreme heat. The employee may potentially run the risk of being exposed to toxic or caustic chemicals, risk of electrical shock and risk of vibration. The noise level in the work environment is occasionally loud. Personal protective equipment (hard hat, safety glasses and vest) and safety gear (including appropriate clothing, shoes, and gloves) are required on job sites.
