Under the supervision of a supervisory employee of higher grade who reviews work, rules and regulations; inspects ongoing and completed construction to determine compliance with the Massachusetts' state building code and any other applicable state or city statutes, rules and regulations, ordinances and/or bylaws; approves or disapproves plans for the construction, reconstruction, alteration or repair of buildings or structures. Makes field inspections to determine the safety and stability of existing structures and buildings; approves and issues building permits; issues certificate of use and occupancy; responds to complaints and problems regarding building code violations; inspects fire-damaged buildings; investigates and prepares the inspectional service's division's position for presentation to the court concerning the violations of the building code, zoning ordinances and other related rules and regulations; makes reports and keeps records of inspections and investigations. Maintains required ma building inspector license and performs required continuing education and training. Performs other related duties as required.</p><h4 class="jobSectionHeader"><b>
Recommended Minimum Qualifications:</b></h4><ul><li>
Working knowledge of inspection procedures.</li><li>

In accordance with m.g.l. chapter 143, s.3, must have at least five (5) years of experience in the supervision of building construction or design and two (2) years experience in municipal/state code enforcement or, in the alternative, a bachelors degree in a field relating to building construction/engineering or design.</li><li>
Must be a licensed construction supervisor.</li><li>
Must be certified by the bbrs in accordance with the provisions of 780 cmr r7.</li><li>
Experience reading, interpreting and applying the Massachusetts state building codes 780 cmr; working diagrams, plans and specifications for building structures; standard references and charts for checking specifications and code standards and tables and charts.</li><li>
Ability to acquire a general knowledge of the provisions of the local and state zoning ordinances.</li><li>

<p>We are seeking a Part-Time Snagging Inspector to assist with property inspections (typically 1&ndash;2 surveys per week). The role involves carrying out detailed snagging inspections on new residential and commercial units and reporting on defects and compliance issues to a professional standard.</p><p>Key Responsibilities</p><ul><li>Conduct on-site snagging and quality inspections across residential and commercial projects in Abu Dhabi.</li><li>Identify and record defects with supporting photographic evidence using mobile software (training provided).</li><li>Prepare clear, concise written reports referencing local building standards and workmanship quality.</li><li>Communicate professionally with clients, developers, and contractors as required.</li><li>Travel independently to sites within Abu Dhabi.</li></ul><p>Requirements</p><ul><li>Minimum 3 years&rsquo; experience in construction, building surveying, snagging, or a related field.</li><li>Strong eye for detail and understanding of building finishes and workmanship quality.</li><li>Excellent written English and report-writing skills.</li><li>Must have a valid UAE driving licence and own vehicle.</li><li>Based in Abu Dhabi.</li><li>Knowledge of UAE construction practices and materials is an advantage.</li><li>RICS, CIOB, or engineering background preferred but not essential.</li></ul><p>Job Type: Part-time</p><p>Pay: Up to AED5,000.00 per month</p><p>Application Question(s):</p><ul><li>Own car</li></ul><p>Language:</p><ul><li>English (Required)</li></ul>
