<div>PRIMARY FUNCTION: Position is responsible for bus operations by dispatching employees to ensure that school bus routes are covered. The dispatcher monitors bus runs to ensure driver response for all runs for regular and special education students, activity and athletic programs, and field trips ensuring each schedule follows established guidelines and procedures. This role monitors radio and responds to unexpected situations to include major events such as school bus accidents and inclement weather.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES:<ul><li>
 Assures that buses and driver are available for all daily routes and special occasion routes.</li><li>
Assigns daily and weekend charters and community bus trips.</li><li>
Assigns standby drivers to routes in emergencies/absences.</li><li>
Assures effective, safe, and timely dispatch of buses.</li><li>
Monitors two-way radio communication while buses are enroute.</li><li>
Maintains a daily log of information concerning bus operations.</li><li>
Coordinates bus repairs between drivers and bus garage.</li><li>
Locates responsible parties to receive special education students when parent/guardian is not present.</li><li>
Resolves complaints from community and school personnel.</li><li>
Distributes information to bus drivers.</li><li>
May drive a school bus as needed.</li><li>
If hired to perform Bilingual services must be able to communicate effectively in in English and Spanish, while conducting 2-way radios communications

TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT
Incumbents will receive an annual contract. The work calendar will be 250 days. Salary will be determined based on level of certification and allowable experience.
