TITLE: Bus Driver</div><div>
QUALIFICATIONS: Possess a current Commercial Driver's License (CDL), and holds a current</div><div>
 School Bus Driver's Permit.</div><div>
JOB GOAL: Under the general supervision of the Administrator or Coordinator, the Bus</div><div>
Driver has the primary responsibility for ensuring the health, safety and welfare of the children, staff and volunteers during bus transportation to and from the program and on field trips. It is also the role of the Bus Driver to: guarantee that the bus is clean and in proper working condition at all times; determine and follow safe and efficient bus routes; ensure all children are in an age appropriate child safety restraints; assists in ensuring child/staff ratio is maintained on the bus and provide day to day guidance to the Bus Aides; maintain all transportation records required by the program; ensures bus evacuation drills are held annually; and evacuate children in case of emergency. The Bus Driver also acts as a link between the parents and the program.</div><div>
REPORTS TO: Administrator of Transportation</div><div>
PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES:</div><div>
 1. Ensures the safety and well-being of children and adults being transported to and from the</div><div>
 program and on field trips on vehicles used by the program, including but not limited to:</div><div>
 2. Follows and ensures mandated child restraint devise procedures, ensuring children are properly</div><div>
 positioned and restrained when required (for seat belts, harnesses for the age appropriate</div><div>
 child).</div><div>
 3. Completing a Student Bus Conduct Report when necessary and communicate the incident to</div><div>
 the principal and Administrator or Coordinator.</div><div>
 4. Ensures that the bus always has sufficient fuel.</div><div>
 5. In consultation with the Administrator or Coordinator, develops and follows efficient and safe</div><div>
 written bus routes that ensure no child will be on the bus more than an hour.</div><div>
 6. Attends all scheduled staff meetings, team meetings as required.</div><div>
 7. Bus Drivers with assistance of the Bus Aides, will follow safe bus loading and unloading</div><div>
 procedures.</div><div>
 8. Follows procedures to guarantee no child is left alone on bus without adult supervision at any</div><div>
 time, including insuring all children have departed bus at the end of all bus stops and routes</div><div>
 (morning, evening and during field trips or other special trips).</div><div>
 9. Assures himself or herself that the bus is locked at the end of the route.</div><div>
 10. Monitors and tracks bi-weekly checklist of students pick up and drop offs.</div><div>
 11. Checks monthly calendar to confirm location and directions of field trips.</div><div>
 12. Follows other procedures developed by the delegate for receiving managing behavior of</div><div>
 children.</div><div>
 13. Keeps bus clean and free of debris; follows other bus cleaning procedures.</div><div>
 14. Wash busses at least once a month, and fuels bus every Friday. Needs to document at</div><div>
 department.</div><div>
 15. Fuel bus every Friday and check all levels of gas before a field trip also.</div><div>
 16. Routinely inventories bus emergency and first aid supplies and equipment, reports needs to</div><div>
 the Administrator or Coordinator.</div><div>
 17. With the assistance of the Bus Aides, delivers messages and other items to and from parents.</div><div></div><div><b><br>

Position Overview
<br>The CDL Driver / Bus Deployment Driver is responsible for the transportation, deployment, staging, pickup, and return of bloodmobiles and mobile collection vehicles in support of mobile blood drive operations. This position focuses exclusively on vehicle movement, logistics support, and operational readiness of mobile collection assets.
<br>Drivers are responsible for ensuring buses are properly staged, supplied, fueled, and returned according to operational standards while maximizing productive driving time throughout the workday. This role does not perform donor-facing collection functions and should not remain onsite during blood drive operating hours unless specifically directed by management.
<br>Essential Functions
<br>Bus Deployment & Transportation
<br><ul>
<li>Transports bloodmobiles and mobile collection vehicles between garages, staging areas, and blood drive locations</li>
<li>Deploys and/or returns a minimum of two (2) buses daily</li>
<li>Completes AM deployment and PM pickup assignments as scheduled</li>
<li>Stages buses at blood drive locations according to operational standards</li>
<li>Parks vehicles according to site instructions and Trip/Drive Sheets</li>
<li>Connects shore power and deploys stairs as applicable</li>
<li>Returns vehicles to assigned garages or mobile depots safely and efficiently</li>

Supply and Equipment Responsibilities

<li>Verifies assigned supply carts and pods are loaded appropriately</li>
<li>Confirms all required supplies are present prior to deployment</li>

<li>Replaces sharps containers and replenishes drinks during PM return process as needed</li>
<li>Secures all equipment and supplies during transport</li>

Vehicle Inspection and Maintenance

Minimum Qualifications

Requirements and Responsibility of the Part-time Bus Driver (Seasonal)</b></p><p></p><ul><li>
Acts as front-line point of contact to ensure delivery of quality customer service.</li><li>
Safely operates several types of buses through light to heavy city and freeway traffic safely and prudently.</li><li>
Passengers safely and courteously according to specified routes. To ensure optimization of all routes, the Bus Driver may make only designated stops in the order prescribed, unless otherwise communicated by the Dispatch Office.</li><li>
Complies with all federal, state, and local laws about the operation of buses, traffic, and safety.</li><li>
Ensures the highest quality of bus service is delivered to our customers.</li><li>
Assists customers in a safe, friendly, courteous, and helpful manner. This includes helping customers with disabilities, on and off the wheelchair lift. As requested by the customer, the Bus Driver will assist with safety restraints.</li><li>
Promotes safety awareness and follows safety procedures to reduce or eliminate accidents.</li><li>
Complies with all company safety rules and operates assigned vehicles to meet customer standards.</li><li>
Must be able to operate all equipment safely, efficiently, and adequately, including farebox, lift, radio, emergency equipment, hatches, and rear engine compartment door.</li><li>
Performs pre-trip inspection and completes DVIR in accordance with FMCSR to ensure bus and equipment are in safe, proper working condition.</li><li>
Coordinates detour, accident, and incident information to radio dispatch, and responds to instructions given.</li><li>
Makes effective independent decisions and manages conflicts based on safety, experience, training, and policies.</li><li>
Follows procedures for the collection, processing, and documentation of fares and counting passengers as required.</li><li>
Reports and properly follow up on all accidents or unusual incidents in, on, or near RATP Dev vehicles</li><li>
Other duties as required
