The successful candidate will be responsible for performing electrical and physical drafting and design work for electrical substations and renewable energy projects ranging from 4 kV to 500 kV.
</p><p>The successful candidate will perform drafting in AutoCAD and/or MicroStation related to electrical substations and renewable energy facilities. Controls design will involve preparation of drawings to include panel layouts, one-line, three-line, DC schematics, and wiring diagrams.</p><p>
Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
</p><ul><li>Preparing complete drawings of structures, layouts, facilities or general arrangements including section and detail views and profiles in a manner to provide clear and concise representation of facilities.</li><li>
Preparing electrical single lines, AC &amp; DC schematics and wiring drawings.
</li><li>Preparation of project drawings through preliminary selection of alternatives, layouts and arrangements.
</li><li>Demonstrating personal development of technical knowledge through interface with the engineering departments in the execution and review of project assignments.</li><li>
Assisting in the training and advancement of skills for other, less -experienced designing and drafting department personnel.</li></ul><p><b>
Minimum Requirements:</b> 2+ years' of experience drafting and/or designing electrical substations, including schematics, wiring diagrams, physical layout and facility design required. Must have proven effective verbal and written communication skills. The successful candidate must be results oriented and capable of completing design assignments with minimal direction and must be effective in a team environment with strong interpersonal skills and have the ability to interface with team members and clients. This position requires a strong work ethic with attention to detail, quality, schedule and budget. Occasional travel/driving may be required. Position Overview
<br>In this role, you will support the engineering team by producing high-quality drafting deliverables for instrumentation and control (I&C) systems across multiple water and wastewater projects. You will work closely with Project Managers and Project Engineers and other drafters to produce panel layouts, wiring diagrams, and P&IDs using AutoCAD Electrical and AutoCAD Plant 3D. While you may assist with design decisions, your primary responsibility will be managing the production of drawing sets and documentation.
<br>Essential Duties & Responsibilities
<br>Drafting & Design Execution
<br><ul>
<li>Draft, edit, and finalize design plans and details using efficient methods and adhering to Inframark drafting standards.</li>
<li>Perform the design and drafting of electrical drawings for control and network panels.</li>
<li>Create panel layout, wiring, and loop drawings based on redlines and engineer-provided markups.</li>
<li>Analyze sketches, notes, and other input material to produce accurate P&IDs in AutoCAD Plant 3D.</li>
<li>Generate accurate bills of materials based on completed drawings.</li>
<li>Maintain and update CAD standards, drawing templates and libraries keeping current with industry changes</li>
<li>Track and organize drawing sets through project phases to ensure consistency and accuracy.</li>

Collaboration & Project Support
<br><ul>
<li>Collaborate closely with Project Engineers and Project Managers to meet project drafting requirements.</li>
<li>Address feedback from Engineers and Owners, ensuring all submittal comments are resolved.</li>
<li>Manage the production of drawing sets from initial creation through markup and final approval.</li>
<li>Conduct site visits to document field conditions and guide design decisions.</li>
<li>Provide ongoing support from project kickoff through startup and closeout.</li>
</ul>
Documentation & Compliance
<br><ul>
<li>Create As Installed Record documents (panel drawings, loop drawings, network diagrams).</li>
<li>Ensure field changes are incorporated into final submittals.</li>
<li>Stay proficient in CADD software tools and related applications, staying up-to-date with the latest features and techniques to enhance productivity and efficiency in drafting and design tasks.</li>
<li>Remain up-to-date on UL508A and NEC standards for control panel and electrical system design.</li>

Qualifications & Requirements

<li>Associate’s degree in drafting, design, or related field</li>
<li>Minimum of five (5) years related experience in an engineering setting, or equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.</li>
<li>Water/wastewater industry experience is a plus.</li>

Technical Skills

<li>Strong proficiency in AutoCAD and AutoCAD Electrical. Experience with AutoCAD Plant 3D is a plus.</li>
<li>Ability to read, understand, and accurately reproduce complex electrical schematics, control panel layouts, and Process & Instrumentation Diagrams.</li>
<li>Familiarity with industrial automation hardware (PLCs, VFDs, relays, sensors).</li>
<li>Ability to work with mathematical fundamentals such as geometry, trigonometry, fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions.</li>
<li>Ability to occasionally use higher-level commands, timesaving programs, and routines in AutoCAD Electrical and Plant 3D.</li>
