As an ORC Operator, you'll serve as the critical first point of contact for utility emergency response, service calls, and communications with employees, customers, and the general public. This essential role combines comprehensive classroom training, hands-on field experience, and real-world operational learning to prepare you for 24/7 emergency response coordination.  Emergency Response &amp; Dispatch

 Serve as the designated point of contact for all utility emergency response activities, coordinating responses to both natural and human-made emergencies
 </li>
 <li>
 Manage central dispatch and triage functions for emergency situations and routine service calls affecting utility infrastructure
 </li>

 Coordinate with local law enforcement, emergency responders, and other jurisdictions during critical incidents
 </li>

 Develop, implement, and maintain emergency response protocols for all natural and human-made hazards
 
 
 </li>

 Communications &amp; Customer Service

 Provide centralized communication to field employees performing planned work across all utility lines of business

 Handle service calls and communications with employees, customers, and the general public, coordinating with the Customer Service Center as needed

 Maintain and operate the Communicator and Geo-notify systems to place mass communications to large groups during emergencies

 Operate, test, and maintain communications, security, and automated systems essential to utility operations

 Monitor and respond to security protection system alarms, assess situations, and coordinate first responder deployment

 Manage SPU Card key system, including monitoring access rights, troubleshooting alarms, and maintaining security protocols

 Monitor cameras and alarms at various SPU facilities and respond according to established procedures

The role you'll contribute:
Under supervision, the Endoscopy Technician -Advanced Practice is the primary assistant to the physician performing the procedure. They possess the knowledge and skills for assisting the physician on advanced endoscopic procedures for patients with complex digestive health issues with minimal direction.
The Endoscopy Technician - Advanced Practice participates with patient care in the Endoscopy procedure room by performance of technical and other delegated duties.
Trains his or her peers. Maintains, cares for, and disinfects all scopes and equipment.
Adheres to the Florida Hospital Corporate Compliance Plan and to all rules and regulations of all applicable local, State and federal agencies and accrediting bodies.
Actively participates in outstanding customer service and accepts responsibility in maintaining relationships that are equally respectful to all.

Assists the physician in performing advanced endoscopic procedures performed on high acuity patients including but not limited to: Grade Ill Complex ERCP procedures, SPYGiass (cholangioscopy), complex endomucosal resection, Sphincter of Oddi manometry and pancreatic endotherapy (stenting), Ultrasound-guided interventions, and Peroral endoscopic myotomy procedures, double balloon enteroscopies, endosuturing, Cystgastroscopy (irrigation and removal of necrotic tissue resulting from pancreatic pseudocyst), ESD (endoscopic submucosal dissection), Endoscopic Vac therapy, Overstitch (Endoscopic Suturing).
appropriately selects and operates the appropriate equipment and accessories for advanced procedures. Troubleshoots equipment issues as needed. Anticipates needs of physician during the procedure to assist with obtaining biopsies, passing stents, and obtaining images. 
Uses procedure-specific lasers and selects appropriate laser fibers and supplies for the procedure. Adheres to all safety standards related to the use of the laser. Collaborates with the Florida Hospital Laser Safety Officer to provide annual safety in-services for Endo staff.<div><ul><li> 
Participates in national teaching conferences and live training courses with physicians and department team members. Acts as preceptor or trainer for other technicians learning advanced procedures. Hosts observers in the clinical setting to facilitate learning procedure techniques and processes. Assists physicians and facilitates learning in porcine labs.</li></ul></div><ul><li>Provides safe. clean, tested and inspected items by performing the following decontamination functions: accurately operates instrument washers and disassembles and cleans with appropriate solutions and methods. Maintains all records relating to the monitoring and testing of the decontamination/disinfection process.</li></ul>
Applies knowledge and ability for appropriate care and handling of instruments and scopes by inspecting for cleanliness, damage and proper function. Ensures leak testing is done on all scopes. Maintains records on scope and instrumentation maintenance. 
Qualifications

KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS REQUIRED:<ul><li>Ability to communicate by reading, writing legibly, and speaking English effectively</li><li>Knowledgeable about professional and practice issues related to the field of Gastrointestinal Endoscopy</li><li>Two years' experience as an endoscopy technician, or other comparable ancillary health care role.</li><li>Experience in assisting GI physicians with complex ERCP (SPYGiass, sphincter of Oddi manometry, pancreatic endotherapy) and EUS-guided biliary and pancreatic ductal interventions</li></ul>
