Our structured therapeutic programming is guided by our comprehensive knowledge of who our participants are and our mission to best support them.<br>
Aspire Adventure Camp is a day camp at Hale Reservation in Westwood serving participants aged 5-13. The summer program is an immersive experience in which campers are placed into well-matched groups, with participant-to-staff ratios no greater than 3:1. Participants engage in outdoor education activities, such as hiking and fishing, theme-based curriculum, such as art or recreation, and skill building lessons to support in the development of social skills, stress management strategies, and self-awareness.<p></p><div><div><div><div><div><div><div><p><b><br>

The Program Assistant is responsible for helping to manage the day-to-day operations of the summer program site while supporting Aspire summer staff to perform their jobs as efficiently and effectively as possible. This includes coordinating and supporting all administrative and secretarial aspects under the supervision of the Camp Directors and Operations Manager. In addition, this role includes helping staff develop clinical and programmatic supports for the staff and participants of the summer programs. This role is 40 hours/week, Monday - Friday.</p><p></p><p>
1. Prior to the first day of camp (arrival of campers), coordinate with Operations Manager and Site Managers to assist in pre-camp paperwork and administrative responsibilities, such as organizing camper paperwork, creating camper files, and other necessary administrative tasks.<br>
2. Initiate and maintain critical organizational tasks pertaining but not limited to: supporting the scheduling of parent conferences, tracking permission slips, coordinating with visiting field trips, and organizing family or staff events.<br>
3. Answer Adventure Camp administration phone line and respond promptly to Adventure Camp administration voicemails and emails. Maintain professional communication with families, participants, staff, collaborators, and area agencies.<br>
4. Track incoming necessary paperwork and maintain spreadsheets, databases, and confidential files in accordance with organizational HIPAA expectations.<br>
5. Monitor and maintain administrative and clinical supplies inventory. Bring inventory needs to Site Managers and facilitate purchase process.<br>
6. Track daily camper and staff attendance. Coordinate the status of all participants&rsquo; arrival and departure in collaboration with designated staff.</p><p>
7. Bring any challenges or concerns to Site Managers or Operations Manager immediately. Be an active participant in your own supervision process.</p><p>
8. Participate in program activities to build rapport with participants and support their participation when available.</p><p></p><p><b>

</p><p><b>Essential Job Functions:</b></p><ul><li>
Lead activities and practice active supervision of participants at all times.</li><li>
Maintain head counts of campers at all times.</li><li>
Help Lead Counselor to create lesson plans to be submitted to Camp Director.</li><li>
Submit paperwork in a timely manner, which may include: attendance records, accident reports, behavior/incident reports, receipts, lesson plans, etc.
</li><li>Communicate effectively with participants.</li><li>
Maintain order and enforce rules during program.</li><li>
Prepare materials for camp.
</li><li>Perform set-up and clean-up responsibilities for the program.</li><li>
Ensure classroom and equipment is maintained properly and supplies are stored in an orderly fashion in the appropriate storage closets.</li><li>
Adhere to scheduled hours.</li><li>
Follow all bus and trip procedures while on camp field trips.</li><li>
Work in conjunction with fellow staff members to support and adhere to the goals and objectives of summer camp.</li><li>
Work well with other Park District staff members and report any issues to the Recreation Supervisor or the Summer Camp Director.</li><li>
Supervise participants in and out of the water at the pool.</li><li>
Demonstrate and support park district customer service standards.</li><li>
Follow district and departmental safety, personnel, and administrative policies, procedures and ordinances.</li><li>
Responsible for being trained and able to drive Mini Busses for program needs (those individuals 21+)</li><li>
Provide a safe and welcoming environment for all participants.</li><li>
Distribute flyers or other information to participants when required.</li><li>
Communicate any accidents, safety concerns, maintenance issues, parent complaints, etc. to Summer Camp Director and Recreation Supervisor.</li><li>
Attend required staff meetings and/or trainings.</li><li>
Carry out any other duties as assigned, including substituting as needed.</li></ul><p>
</p><p><b>Requirements / Qualifications:</b></p><ul><li>
Must be 16 years of age or older.</li><li>
Seeking individuals that have availability Monday - Friday / Early June through mid August</li><li>
Typical hours for the program are Monday - Friday from 8:30am - 4:00pm</li><li>
There are opportunities to work extra hours from 7am - 8:30am before camp starts and 4:00pm - 6:00pm after camp ends</li><li>
Previous experience working with children, childcare/babysitting, coaching or customer service preferred.</li></ul><p>

As a key leader of the Children&rsquo;s Program team, the Associate Director supports the Children&rsquo;s Program&rsquo;s Director in providing onsite leadership and strategic planning for Mont Lawn City Camp, overseeing effective programming for children and youth from urban contexts (6-16 years-old): afterschool enrichment services, Leadership Academy, and community events at Mont Lawn City Camp. The Associate Director leads teams and ensures programming that supports holistic growth (spiritual, social, emotional, academic). Works to achieve desired participation goals and outcomes. Provides direct care to children and their families, including teaching classes, leading groups, tutoring, and mentoring. Collaborates with internal and external partners to enhance available resources. Ensures compliance with TBM policy and city and state standards. Travels to Mont Lawn Camp in Pennsylvania for a minimum of one to two weeks during summer camp season (June &ndash; August) to provide on-site leadership, and direct care to children and families.</p><br>

<p><b>
Specific responsibilities include but are not limited to:</b></p>
<ul>
<li>Lead teams in overseeing daily program operations at City Camp.</li>
<li>Work closely with the Director to manage daily program operations. Ensure effective afterschool enrichment and Leadership Academy programming (classes, groups, tutoring, mentoring, field trips, etc.) and community events. Ensure staff understand and comply with health and safety requirements.</li>
<li>Model and coach team in reinforcing TBM&rsquo;s values. Serve as a spiritual leader for the team.</li>
<li>Ensure programming is Christ-centered, integrated, and empowering, utilizes a Social Emotional Learning (SEL) approach, and aligns with best practices. Promote spiritual growth along with an increased sense of hope, improved social-emotional skills, and academic success.</li>
<li>Maintain and increase program participation and success rates.</li>
<li>Oversee staff correspondence to families and their children. Oversee transportation to/from field trips and Mont Lawn Summer Camp for campers, staff, tutors, and mentors.</li>
<li>Advise and authorize expenditures within approved budget to meet program goals.</li>
<li>Ensure teachers/facilitators follow approved curriculum. Develop and write new curriculum as needed.</li>
<li>Collaborate with TBM departments/divisions (e.g., Volunteer Services, Program Effectiveness, and Corporate Partnerships) and community partners (e.g., education, ministry, and corporate) to recommend new linkages, enhance working relationship, increase available resources, and coordinate care.</li>
<li>Provide direct care: lead/facilitate groups and classes and provide additional coverage when needed. Tutor and mentor children and their families. Communicate with parents/guardians. Assess needs, and make appropriate referrals</li>
<li>Support Director and Children&rsquo;s Program&rsquo;s Recruiter with camper recruitment for City Camp and Mont Lawn Summer Camp participation.</li>
<li>Ensure processes are in place to track program outcomes, monitor staff reports, and facilitate communication between shifts/team members.</li></ul><p></p><p><b><br>
Requirements:</b></p>
<ul>

<li>3+ years' experience in a management position and 7+ in children&rsquo;s ministry, non-profit, human services or other relevant field.</li>
<li>Bachelor&rsquo;s degree in relevant field or equivalent educations.</li>
<li>Integration of best practices in children&rsquo;s programming and Christian worldview.</li>
<li>Program development. Staff development and training. Teaching and mentorship.</li>
<li>Proficient in office technology.</li>
</ul>

<li>Master&rsquo;s degree in related field.</li>
<li>Nonviolent Crisis Intervention.</li>
