A Clinical Research Coordinator (CRC) I position is currently available in the Cancer Clinical Trials Office within the Tisch Cancer Institute. Duties will include activities such as, but no limited to, data collection, obtaining informed consent, and maintaining and organizing study information.</p><p>
The Tisch Cancer Institute is a vital component of the Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai Hospital and plays a key role in the Mount Sinai Health System, which is one of the largest health care systems in the nation. The Clinical Research Coordinator assists in the daily activities of clinical research studies, obtains informed consent; collects, maintains and organizes study information. Assists in preparing grant applications and documents (for e.g., Institutional Review Board, Grants and Contracts Office).</p><b><br>
Responsibilities</b><ul><li>
Collects and records study data; inputs all information into database.</li><li>
Under direct supervision of the Principle Investigator(s), obtains informed consent and educates participants regarding study requirements.</li><li>
Assists in the activities related to clinical research studies including but not limited to: answering phone calls, screening participants for eligibility, registering subjects with sponsoring agency, and administering lifestyle questionnaires.</li><li>
Maintains source documents and subject files in accordance with hospital procedures; helps to ensure accurate and complete compilation of subject data through chart reviews.</li><li>
Secures, delivers and ships clinical specimens as required by the protocol.</li><li>
Responsible for organizing and preparing for monitoring visits.</li><li>
Assists with coordination and management of clinical trials including communication with Sponsors.</li><li>

<p><strong>Cancer patient pathway coordination</strong></p>

 <li>Responsible for administrative coordination and sequencing of the clinical pathway for a range of cancer patients at various stages in their cancer journey.</li>

Our research focuses on defining the molecular and functional heterogeneity of myeloid populations in response to radiotherapy and immunotherapy, and on leveraging this knowledge to engineer precision nanotherapeutics that reprogram their behavior.<br>

By integrating molecular engineering with cancer immunology, we design nano-enabled therapeutics that modulate immune signaling and enhance crosstalk between myeloid and lymphoid cells. Our interdisciplinary research program spans immunology, nanotechnology, materials science, and molecular engineering, bringing together tools such as flow cytometry, animal models, and bio/nanomaterial synthesis. Our long-term goal is to establish mechanistic and translational understanding of radiation-induced immune responses and design nanotherapeutics for precision medicine.<br>

Overview</b><i>: </i>We are currently looking for a qualified and detail oriented Benefits Coordinator. The Coordinator creates the copay log daily to ensure that patients have a clear understanding of what their copays, coinsurance, cost of treatment, OOP may be prior to service. This is a full time position working 40 hours per week, Monday - Friday schedule.</p><p><b>
Essential Duties and Responsibilities</b>:</p><ul><li>
Complete assigned daily log, maintaining 7 days out consistently.</li><li>
Verify insurance deductible and out of pocket accumulations prior to treatment</li><li>
Verify cost of treatments have been generated to be reviewed with the patient.</li><li>
Review notes for accurate cost estimates for each individual treatment plan.</li><li>
Review accounts notes for any pending adjustments or balances that need to be set up or set up on payment plan.</li><li>
Communicates with management regarding treatment concerns and patients benefits.</li><li>
Strong ledger knowledge ability to accurately assess insurance payments and compare to verification for accuracy. Ability to identify correct balances and credits on account</li><li>
Complete cost estimates for CT/PET scans, radiation therapy, chemotherapy and injections, estimating patient responsibility.</li><li>
Verify and/or enroll patients for foundation, copay/card or financial drug assistance programs.</li><li>
Must be able to type and work on a computer.</li><li>
Performs other duties as requested by supervisor, administrator, or physicians</li></ul><p><b>
Knowledge and Skills</b>:</p><ul><li>
Knowledge of all insurance types and benefit structures.</li><li>
Knowledge of Medical Office operations.</li><li>
Knowledge of medical terminology.</li><li>
Knowledge of chemotherapy related drugs, supplies utilized and SNF, LTC and Hospice in relation to insurance benefits is preferred.</li><li>
Knowledge of governmental, legal and regulatory provisions related to collection activities.</li><li>
Knowledge of CPT, ICD-9, ICD-10, HCPCS coding a plus.</li><li>
Knowledge of basic mathematics. Accounting knowledge a must.</li><li>
Attention to detail is required.</li><li>
Able to be in a seated position, talk on the phone, repetitive keyboard usage and clarity of vision at 20 inches or less.</li></ul><p>
Job Requirements:</p><ul><li>
Minimum 3 years of medical insurance experience to include knowledge of all insurance types and benefit structures, heavy emphasis on insurance verification.</li><li>
Oncology experience a plus.</li><li>
High School Diploma; additional education preferred.</li></ul><p><i>
