Job Summary and Qualifications</h5> 
Cath Lab Technicians are Cardiovascular Technologists who work in our facilities and run tests on heart health. They assist with the insertion of catheters into the heart and are responsible for measuring and administering special fluids. 
What you will do in this role: 
 
 
<ul><li>Under the general supervision of the Cath Lab Supervisor and the CV Services Director, the Cardiac Cath Lab Technologist, in cooperation with the physicians and nursing personnel, assists with diagnostic and therapeutic invasive cardiology patient procedures in the catheterization labs.
</li><li>Demonstrates knowledge of the principles of radiographic imaging, patient physiologic monitoring and cardiac arrhythmias recognition.

</li><li>Responsible for carrying out any other activities assigned by the Cath Lab Supervisor or CV Services Director to ensure the department runs effectively and efficiently.

Job Summary and Qualifications</h5>
Under the general supervision of the Cath Lab Manager/Designee and the general direction of the medical staff the Cardiac Cath Lab Lead Technician is responsible for professional patient care and related assistance to patients experiencing cardiac intervention upon admission to the department. The Cath Lab Technician Lead utilizes the patient care process in ensuring safe and competent quality patient care. The Cath Lab Lead Technician in the Cardiac Catheterization Laboratory supports the medical care of all patient requiring any cardiac or peripheral intervention under the direction of the medical staff pursuant to the mission and objectives of the hospital. This person ensures a safe environment for the patient and others, appropriately communicates with physicians, co-workers, volunteers, other hospital departments and patient family members. The Cath Lab Technician lead acts to provide care in a competent, effective and cost effective manner.

Identifies and documents patients, family and significant other education needs in collaboration with other disciplines and participates in on-going education.</li><li>
Always acts in the best interests of the patient and their family considering medical problems and treatment precautions. Performs only neurodiagnostic tests that are permitted by the American Society of Electron euro-diagnostic Technologists.</li><li>
Observes all precautions when treating medically compromised patients</li><li>
Quickly and appropriately responds to fire alarms by serving as a member of &ldquo;fire brigade&rdquo;.</li><li>
Maintains an orderly and safe work area.</li><li>
Demonstrates accuracy in the assessment, evaluation and treatment of the patients upon physician orders</li><li>
Considers patient/family goals, home environment, learning needs and support system during evaluation</li><li>

Job Summary and Qualifications</h5>
The Cardiac Cath Lab Technician safely performs a variety of technical procedures, utilizing specialized angiographic equipment for diagnosis of cardiovascular and/or peripheral vascular disease entities; as well as for therapeutic intervention to treat disease processes.

What You Will Do In This Role:<ul><li>Operates Specialized Equipment /Radiation Safety: Operates specialized radiographic and invasive procedure equipment</li><li>Understands needs and identifies needed supplies appropiately for invasive procedures. Ensures supplies available for procedures.</li><li>Employs radiation protection devices and techniques as required.</li><li>Independently assists physician as scrub person and operates fluoroscopic/specialized equipment safely.</li><li>Understands and practices sterile technique</li><li>Orients new employees as related to special procedure technologist duties</li><li>Participates in departmental performance improvement activities</li><li>Fulfills assigned on call obligations.</li></ul> 
What Qualifications You Will Need:<ul><li>Completion of an accredited and approved Radiology Technologist or Cardiovascular Technologist program.</li></ul><ul><li>Current Registered Radiographer (ARRT) or Cardiovascular Technologist (RCIS) certification is required; Registered Cardiovascular Interventional Specialist (RCIS) credential preferred over ARRT.
</li></ul><ul><li>American Red Cross or American Heart Association (BLS OR BCLS, and ALS OR ACLS) Course Completion and Certification.</li></ul>
