Cardiac Cath Lab Technician - CVOR
The Cardiac Cath Tech I assists the Cardiologist in the performance of invasive cardiac procedures on adult and geriatric patients. This Tech measures, calculates and prepares test results for evaluation. Will also be responsible for maintaining patient records for the department.
<ul><li>A Degree from an accredited program in Radiologic Technology, Respiratory Therapy or Cardiovascular Technology.
</li><li>Technologist or Therapist must be registered by the state of Florida or CCI in their profession.
</li><li>BLS and ACLS Required.
</li><li>Previous experience in a Cardiac Cath Lab preferred.
</li><li>Must possess skills to provide assistance in diagnostic &amp; interventional cath procedures.
</li><li>Assists with invasive cardiac catheter lab procedures on patients to include but not limited to:
</li><li>diagnostic left and right heart catheterizations
</li><li>temporary pacemakers
</li><li>angioplasty
</li><li>physiological monitoring
</li><li>recording
</li><li>stenting
</li><li>IVUS
</li><li>rotablator
</li><li>closure devices
</li><li>intra-aortic balloon pumping.
</li><li>Cleans, maintains, and tests equipment and instruments to include high pressure injector, X-ray equipment, defibrillator and surgical instruments.
</li><li>Patient transport and education.
</li><li>Types, files and charts chronological notes.

<div><div>A 229-bed acute care facility in Port St. Lucie, Florida is seeking a Cardiovascular/Cath Lab Technician to join its cardiac catheterization laboratory team. The hospital is accredited by the Joint Commission, holds designations as a Certified Primary Stroke Center and an American College of Cardiology accredited Chest Pain Center, and offers a cardiac catheterization lab, minimally-invasive and robotic surgery, and a full range of specialty services. This is a full-time, on-site position with a daytime schedule.
Working alongside cardiologists and radiologists in the Cardiac Catheterization Lab, the Cardiovascular Technician assists in the performance of invasive procedures while maintaining a safe patient environment. Core responsibilities include monitoring, scrubbing, and circulating duties across all procedure types within the RT/CVT scope of practice. The technician operates imaging and cath lab equipment safely, adheres to ALARA standards, and stays current on evolving procedures, equipment, and exam protocols. Managing supply inventory at acceptable levels is also part of the day-to-day workflow.
Key Responsibilities
<ul><li>Assist cardiologists and radiologists in performing invasive cardiac procedures
</li><li>Perform monitoring, scrubbing, and circulating duties across all cath lab procedure types
</li><li>Operate imaging and cath lab equipment safely and in accordance with established protocols
</li><li>Adhere to ALARA radiation safety standards at all times
</li><li>Maintain knowledge of evolving procedures, equipment, and examination protocols
</li><li>Ensure a safe and organized patient environment throughout each procedure
</li><li>Manage supply inventory and maintain acceptable stock levels within the lab
</li><li>Function within the full RT/CVT scope of practice across all assigned procedures

<ul><li>Education from a school of Cardiovascular Technology required
</li><li>CVT/RCIS or ARRT credential required
</li><li>Current Basic Life Support certification as a Healthcare Provider from the American Heart Association required

</li><li>Minimum of one year of recent experience as a Cardiovascular Technician or experienced ARRT required

Overview:
The position is 7A-7p, 3 days a week, Monday - Friday. No weekends or major holidays.
Cardiac Techs help aid the RNs throughout the prep and recovery of our Cardiac Catheterization, Electrophysiology, and Cardiac OR patients. In our department we prep and recover 40 - 60 patients a day. In the recovery area, the cardiac techs are trained to settle patients in the room postoperatively (hooking to the monitor, cleaning, repositioning); obtain EKGs or any specimens ordered; remove arterial and venous sheaths from the femoral, radial and brachial sites; help patients that are on bedrest with eating, toileting, or any other request per the patient; and transporting patients to their inpatient room or assisting in the discharge process. This job does require the capabilities to lift, push, pull, and standing for long periods of time.
