As our Virtual Cardiac Monitoring Tech at CommonSpirit Health you will help people in need across the United States in a 24/7 virtual call center environment. You will be part of our highly specialized team of patient caregivers at CommonSpirit Health's Virtual Hospital in Phoenix AZ.</div><div></div><div><br>
Every day you will perform remote cardio-pulmonary rhythm surveillance for up to 60 patients at multiple locations nationwide. Using advanced IT technologies you will accurately recognize cardiac rhythms and notify on-site patient care team of any changes in cardiac rhythm arrhythmias or oxygen saturation. You are the additional pair of eyes needed to proactively recognize record and report potentially dangerous changes in patient behaviors to strive to improve patient outcomes.</div><div>
To succeed in this role you must be committed to providing focused patient cardio-pulmonary monitoring successfully recognize potentially dangerous rhythm changes or oxygen saturation and communicate what you see to the on-site patient care team calmly and efficiently ensuring the best possible outcome for the patient.</div><div></div><div><br>

Key Job Responsibilities</b></div><div></div><div><br>
Utilizing highly advanced IT technology you will be the eyes of our onsite patient care team by maintaining continuous cardio-pulmonary monitoring surveillance of assigned patients nationwide. You will need to recognize the difference between emergency and non-emergency changes and quickly evaluate the situation. You will initiate communication with the onsite patient care team to report any situation requiring immediate and direct intervention to maintain patient safety healing and comfort. You will practice direct observation skills to anticipate changes in cardiac rhythms and oxygen saturation and know when to engage the onsite staff. You may serve as an escalation trigger for immediate patient care or simply a sense of comfort knowing someone is monitoring the patient while not directly in the room.</div><div><br>

Cardiac Technicians are part of the Cardiovascular team. They are responsible for performing 12 lead EKG&rsquo;s, Holter Monitors, Event Monitoring and Stress Testing on inpatients and outpatients patients at UnityPoint Health Des Moines. Responsibilities:

Clinical Excellence and Patient Education</b></p></div><div><ul><li><p>
Troubleshoots equipment problems and makes necessary adjustments in order to obtain readable test results. Refers problems to appropriate personnel.</p></li><li><p>
Operates various types of technical and computerized pieces of equipment, including facsimile machine, Treadmill, Holter Monitor system, Event Monitor equipment, Blood Pressure Monitor system, and be proficient using EPIC. Recognizes isolation situations and takes appropriate precautions.</p></li><li><p>
Cleans with approved cleaning agent, stocks equipment and outpatient exam area.</p></li><li><p>
Checks crash carts and checks defibrillators daily where applicable.</p></li><li><p>
Investigates client concerns and refers to appropriate staff person.</p></li><li><p>
Hooks up and monitors Stress tests for arrhythmia&rsquo;s and blood pressure abnormalities and notifies Physician or nurse of changes, (including: Dobutamine, Nuclear, Stress Echocardiograms, and Regular Stress).</p></li><li><p>
Applies Holter Monitors, Event Monitors and Ambulatory Blood Pressure Monitors (where applicable) and instructs clients in their usage. Loads recorded information into the appropriate computer system, edits, and prints and prepares results for the appropriate Cardiology group to interpret. Notifies Physicians of irregularities as directed.</p></li><li><p>
Performs and records EKG&rsquo;s and leaves results with patient chart. Prepares test results for Physician interpretation as directed. Logs, edits, transcribe and distribute reports as directed.</p></li><li><p>
Identifies dangerous arrhythmias and notifies appropriate personnel.</p></li></ul></div><br>

Qualifications:
<ul><li>Must be a high school graduate or equivalent.
</li><li>Must have skills and knowledge in working with pediatric, adolescent and geriatric patients.</li><li>
Must successfully complete basic arrhythmia/scope tech course within one (1) year of hire for new employees.</li><li>
BLS Certified (or for new hires obtained within 90 days)</li></ul></div>
