The Court Mediator/Investigator assists parties in resolving child custody and visitation disputes by using conflict resolution skills and techniques while conducting mediation sessions, child custody investigations, emergency investigations, minor interviews, second-parent adoptions, termination of parental rights investigations, and minor marriage investigations. The position prepares written reports with recommendations to the court and/or provides expert testimony to the court.</div><div><br>
Court Mediator/Investigator I is the entry-level classification into this professional series. This classification typically reports to the Family Court Services Supervisor and works under close supervision. Incumbents are expected to gain proficiency to promote to Court Mediator/Investigator II journey level classification within the one (1) year probation period. As incumbents gain experience, they are expected to work with increasing independence and proficiency and to perform the full scope of journey-level classification duties.</div><div></div><ul><li><br>

Summary
<br>The 1099-Contract Investigator is responsible for conducting federal background investigations on a contract basis in direct support of national security and suitability investigations.

<div><div><b>Job Description:</b><br>
The Deviation Investigator Level III is responsible for the investigation and completion of deviations aimed at identification of root cause and implementation of correct actions to prevent recurrence. Level III Investigators are expected to work in a cGMP environment, have working knowledge of mammalian manufacturing processes, the ability to manage multiple ongoing projects concurrently, have strong meeting facilitation and conflict resolution skills, a strong technical writing capability, be action oriented, and be compliant minded while performing investigations.<br>
<b>Responsibilities:</b>
<ul><li>Share knowledge to significantly enhance performance within the organization with the long term view of constructing sustainable, high performing investigation teams.
</li><li>Draws from relevant experience to aid in real-time decisions for deviation containment and investigative response.
</li><li>Ability to manage moderate to high workloads with consistent on-time delivery.
</li><li>Ability to resume in-progress investigations with limited assistance from Sr. level investigators.
</li><li>Provide direction on deviation approach for the investigators and associated investigation teams, and as this occurs, transfer knowledge to the personnel involved to elevate expertise of the teams.
</li><li>Work to achieve &gt;80% Right First Time on customer deviation reviews.
</li><li>Drive for effective CAPA such that deviations do not recur.
</li><li>Perform investigations for complex events with assistance from team leadership (as needed).
</li><li>Perform other duties as assigned.
</li></ul><b>Requirements:</b>
<ul><li>BS Degree (Biotechnology, Biology, Chemistry or equivalent).
</li><li>Equivalent industry experience, 5-10 years.
</li><li>Ability to work inter-departmentally and with customers.
</li><li>High level of area specific operations and technical skills.
</li><li>Demonstrates Error Prevention System (EPS) behaviors e.g. 3 way communication, questioning attitude, etc.
</li><li>Strong written and verbal communication skills.
</li><li>Utilizes multiple RCA tools including but not limited to Cause Mapping, Event and Casual Factor charting, and 5 Why.
</li><li>Demonstrate ability for effective Planning, Organizing and Controlling competency.
</li><li>Demonstrate sound decision making, considering broad scope of factors.</li></ul></div></div>

The ideal candidate is a curious, detail-oriented fact-finder who excels at working independently and producing high-quality, detailed reports. You will manage your own caseload, conduct interviews, and be a crucial part of ensuring fair outcomes based on evidence.</p><p><b>Key Responsibilities</b></p><ul><li>Conduct in-depth interviews with claimants, employers, witnesses, and other relevant parties to gather factual information.</li><li>Manage a full caseload of workers' compensation (AOE/COE) and general liability claims.</li><li>Secure recorded or written statements, documents, and other evidence.</li><li>Visit incident locations to take photographs, create diagrams, and assess environmental factors.</li><li>Draft clear, concise, and comprehensive investigative reports for our clients in a timely manner.</li><li>Maintain regular communication and provide status updates to clients and claims administrators.</li><li>Uphold the highest level of integrity, confidentiality, and ethical standards.</li></ul><p><b>Qualifications and Skills</b></p><p>This is not an entry-level position. The successful candidate will meet the following qualifications:</p><p><b>Required:</b></p><ul><li>A minimum of <b>five (2) years of direct experience</b> conducting workers' compensation (AOE/COE) and general liability field investigations.</li><li>A valid and current California Private Investigator (PI) license.</li><li>Proven ability to write detailed, accurate, and grammatically correct investigative reports.</li><li>Excellent interviewing and statement-taking skills.</li><li>A valid driver's license, reliable transportation, and a clean driving record.</li><li>Strong organizational and time-management skills with the ability to work independently.</li></ul><p><b>Preferred:</b></p><ul><li><b>Direct experience with Title IX investigations is a significant plus.</b></li><li>Bilingual abilities (Spanish-speaking is highly desirable).</li><li>A Bachelor's degree in Criminal Justice, Administration of Justice, or a related field.</li></ul><p>Job Type: Full-time</p><p>Pay: $25.00 per hour</p><p>Benefits:</p><ul><li>Mileage reimbursement</li><li>Travel reimbursement</li></ul><p>Work Location: Hybrid remote in Redlands, CA 92374</p>
