Experience with consecutive or simultaneous onsite (in person) interpretation between a courts representative and non-English speakers</li><li>

Deliver correct concepts and meanings between speaker and the Limited English Proficient (LEP) speaker.</li><li>
Correct grammar, clarity and tones between <b>English and your native language.</b></li><li>
Experience with following the speakers&rsquo; direction, professionally interject when clarification is needed, and manage the flow of a conversation.
</li><li>Refrain from side conversations with the LEP and entering into any disagreement with the customer or LEP</li><li>
Compliance with applicable ethics and standards</li></ul><p></p><p><b>
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:</b></p><ul><li><b>
Court-certified or Court-Registered in the State of New Hampshire - you will be asked to provide your credentials.</b></li><li>
Agree to undergo annual criminal and state registry background checks:</li><li><ul><li>
Criminal</li><li>
Bureau of Elderly and Adult Services (BEAS)</li><li>
Division for Children, Youth &amp; Families (DCYF)</li></ul></li><li>
Strong understanding of NHJB procedures, e.g. precise documentation of services provided for each session</li><li>
At least one (1) year of onsite consecutive or simultaneous interpreting experience in a legal/courts setting</li><li>
Two (2) professional references who can confirm your profession as an onsite consecutive or simultaneous interpreter</li><li>
Minimum age: Must be 18+ years or older</li><li>
Minimum education: Must have High School Diploma</li><li>
Full fluency in <b>English and your native language</b></li><li>
Able to provide at least one of the following accreditations:</li><li><ul><li>
American Translation Association (ATA)</li><li>

<b>Job summary and duties:</b><br>

Answer and direct telephone calls; take and relay messages</li><li>
Process requests for interpreter services
</li><li>Check cases involving persons with Limited English Proficiency (L.E.P.) to ensure the correct date, time, room number, and court location.
</li><li>Assist in scheduling of interpreters for Spanish, Polish, and other languages, including contacting third party vendors and processing advance and same day requests for interpreter services</li><li>
Communicate with judges, court personnel, and interpreters to ensure availability of interpreter services as required</li><li>
Collect data and provide statistics required by the Administrative Office of the Illinois Courts.

<p></p><div><div>The purpose of the OSP VII position is to perform clerical and other specialized work within the Court Services department. This position will also work on special projects as assigned by the Deputy Court Administrator &ndash; Fiscal/Court Services.</div></div><p></p>

<p></p><div><ul><li>Receives and processes requests for interpreters for all court hearings and proceedings including Common Pleas Court hearings, custody conferences, divorce master proceedings, Protective from Abuse Hearings, juvenile court proceedings and Children &amp; Youth hearings.</li><li>
Corresponds effectively with Judges, their staff and attorneys to ensure an up-to-date status of any proceeding involving an interpreter so that the interpreter can be informed if a date, time or location is changed or if there is a change in case status.</li><li>
Communicates with the AOPC when there are not any approved interpreters available for a particular language requested to ascertain what other options exist.</li><li>
Maintains Language Access Data Collection ensuring the entry of encounters are correct and completed in a timely manner.</li><li>
Processes Interpreter invoices in a timely manner and in accordance with Interpreter Regulations and Fee Schedule.</li><li>
Arranges for the translation of Court documents when needed.</li><li>
Payroll (ADP): assists with the processing of payroll in a timely manner and in accordance with County policies and procedures.</li><li>
Building Services: submits work orders when building maintenance issues are reported to the Court Services department. Follows up to ensure work is complete and according to needs.</li><li>
Transcript requests: assists with the processing of transcript requests including the receipting of payment and notification to the court reporter.</li><li>
Orders for Payment: processes Orders for Payment for attorneys and expert witnesses utilizing the appropriate vendor number and budget code.</li><li>
Special projects: as assigned by the Deputy Court Administrator &ndash; Fiscal/Court Services works on special projects.</li><li>
Answers phones, directing inquiries to the appropriate party; opens incoming mail, directing it to the appropriate person; files departmental paperwork.</li></ul><ul><li>
