The firefighter is the initial classification within the Fire Department. Individuals in this classification normally work under the supervision of a Fire Lieutenant or Fire Captain. The primary responsibilities of a Firefighter are to respond to emergencies, to combat and extinguish fires, provide medical treatment to victims, perform rescues, and do other duties that may be required. Individuals in this classification must be proficient in driving the apparatus to which they are assigned and knowledgeable of the location and operating procedures of all equipment assigned to that apparatus. The listed compensation range listed is paid bi-weekly per our standard payroll practices. Final base pay decisions are dependent upon a variety of factors which may include, but are not limited to: skill set, years of relevant experience, education, location, and licensure/certifications.</p>
