The role you'll contribute:</p><p>
Under supervision, the Endoscopy Technician -Advanced Practice is the primary assistant to the physician performing the procedure. They possess the knowledge and skills for assisting the physician on advanced endoscopic procedures for patients with complex digestive health issues with minimal direction.</p><p>
The Endoscopy Technician - Advanced Practice participates with patient care in the Endoscopy procedure room by performance of technical and other delegated duties.</p><p>
Trains his or her peers. Maintains, cares for, and disinfects all scopes and equipment.</p><p>
Adheres to the Florida Hospital Corporate Compliance Plan and to all rules and regulations of all applicable local, State and federal agencies and accrediting bodies.</p><p>

Assists the physician in performing advanced endoscopic procedures performed on high acuity patients including but not limited to: Grade Ill Complex ERCP procedures, SPYGiass (cholangioscopy), complex endomucosal resection, Sphincter of Oddi manometry and pancreatic endotherapy (stenting), Ultrasound-guided interventions, and Peroral endoscopic myotomy procedures, double balloon enteroscopies, endosuturing, Cystgastroscopy (irrigation and removal of necrotic tissue resulting from pancreatic pseudocyst), ESD (endoscopic submucosal dissection), Endoscopic Vac therapy, Overstitch (Endoscopic Suturing).</p><p>
appropriately selects and operates the appropriate equipment and accessories for advanced procedures. Troubleshoots equipment issues as needed. Anticipates needs of physician during the procedure to assist with obtaining biopsies, passing stents, and obtaining images.</p><p><br>
Uses procedure-specific lasers and selects appropriate laser fibers and supplies for the procedure. Adheres to all safety standards related to the use of the laser. Collaborates with the Florida Hospital Laser Safety Officer to provide annual safety in-services for Endo staff.</p><div><ul><li><br>
Participates in national teaching conferences and live training courses with physicians and department team members. Acts as preceptor or trainer for other technicians learning advanced procedures. Hosts observers in the clinical setting to facilitate learning procedure techniques and processes. Assists physicians and facilitates learning in porcine labs.</li></ul></div><ul><li>Provides safe. clean, tested and inspected items by performing the following decontamination functions: accurately operates instrument washers and disassembles and cleans with appropriate solutions and methods. Responsibilities:

Determining visual acuity</li><li>
Administering eye drops, ointments, and irrigating solutions to the eye as ordered by the physician</li><li>
Performing office duties and clinical tasks - entering data into EMR</li><li>

<p>
This multimodality position is accountable for performing quality MRI and CT Imaging through the application of advanced technical knowledge while maintaining strict attention to patient care. This position is accountable for providing expertise for all ages from neonatal/newborn to adults. The patient acuity ranges from stable outpatients to critically ill patients on full life support.
</p><p><b>Responsibilities:</b></p>
<ul>
<li>General Clinical Practice</li>
<li>Know and demonstrate proficiency of all MRI and CT examinations.</li>
<li>Maintains the safety of the MRI and CT suite in conjunction with patients and multidisciplinary staff.</li>
<li>Evaluates examination orders for pertinent clinical information and assesses needs of patient and requirements for the exam in conjunction with the radiologist.</li>
<li>Recognize emergent patient conditions.</li>
<li>Coordinates critical patient transport with appropriate nursing personnel as applicable.</li>
<li>Collaborates with Patient Services and anesthesia as needed.</li>
<li>Ability to work independently.</li>
<li>Teaching/Personal Knowledge</li>

<li>Department Policy and Procedure</li>
<li>Demonstrate competency and proficiency in performing all MRI and CT procedures as identified in the MRI/CT Tech competency.</li>
<li>Identify anatomical orientation, sequencing of images and verify accurate patient identification of images for accurate record retention and archiving.</li>
<li>Accurately assess, select, prepare and administer contrast materials to patients in accordance to best clinical practices.</li>
<li>Demonstrate competency and efficiency in safety in the MRI and CT suite.</li>
<li>Ability to assess patient condition; preserve patient safety through proper use of immobilization devices.</li>
<li>Maintain confidentiality of all patient and facility related information.</li>
<li>Care of Environment and Equipment</li>
<li>Supplies and equipment necessary for patient care are stored in an organized and efficient manner.</li>
<li>Demonstrates correct and safe techniques in the use of equipment.</li>
<li>Maintain a clean, neat and safe environment for patients and staff according to facility Policies.</li>
<li>Information Processing</li>
<li>Use computer system in documenting, correctly and accurately, patient information.</li>
<li>Proficient in computer terminology and applications.</li>
<li>Demonstrate the ability to perform all necessary computer operations to include PACS system. Verify accurate charge capture for procedures performed.</li>
<li>Accurately transcribe physician orders and facilitate correcting mistakes or unclear orders with appropriate people.</li>
<li>Quality Improvement and Safety</li>
<li>Report all safety hazards that could harm patients, visitors, or other facility employees.</li>
<li>Assist in identifying appropriate indicators for the department&rsquo;s Quality Improvement programs.</li>
<li>Discuss difficult cases with radiologist to reduce the number of patient call backs.</li>
<li>Initiate occurrence reports when problems are identified.</li>
<li>Performs other duties as required.</li>
</ul>
<p><b> </b><b>Qualifications:</b></p>

<li> High school diploma or equivalent</li>
<li> ARRT required</li>
<li> MRI and or CT certification preferred</li>
<li> State registration if required by respective state</li>
<li> BLS Certified</li>
<li> 2-3 years MRI experience</li>
<li> Possess a level of clinical expertise and competency in cross sectional anatomy</li>
<li> Venipuncture skills required</li>
<li> Ability to handle critical care situations which can create a high level of stress</li>
<li> Must be willing to cross train into X-ray</li>
