Responsibilities

<li>Work closely with the Chef de Cuisine to create dishes and suggesting dishes in promotional events.</li>
<li>Ensure plating guides are up to date and distributed appropriately.</li>
<li>Ensure that all plating guides are followed according to set dish description, cooking method and presentation image.</li>
<li>Ensure that the food is prepared in the most authentic way as standards set and agreed by the Chef de Cuisine.</li>
<li>Support to identify areas for improvement in food and beverage quality and report those to Chef de Cuisine.</li>
<li>Encourage proactive, efficient, and effective inter-departmental communication within and beyond the Food and Beverage division to promote a climate of teamwork and enthusiasm.</li>
<li>Responsible for the ordering and requesting of the ingredients daily.</li>
<li>Provide leadership, direction, and support to all colleagues at any time.</li>
<li>Support the Chef de Cuisine to prepare a weekly roster.</li>
<li>Oversee and follow through the food safety standards set by Mandarin Oriental Muscat, Safe &amp; Sound and through the local Muscat Municipality rules and regulation.</li>
<li>Supervise the maintenance and cleanliness of the Essenza kitchen always follow up accordingly on the produced reports to achieve an immaculate environment.</li>
<li>Ensure that all Essenza cuisine displays are food safe, creative, clean and with attention to detail as per set standards by the Chef de Cuisine.</li>
<li>Ensure that Mandarin Oriental, Muscat grooming and appearance standards are implemented and always maintained to reflect an image of professionalism and care.</li>
</ul><ul><li>Personally monitor and follow through on any requirements of VIP guests who are dining in the Restaurants as well as for special dietary requirements.</li>

We are seeking a creative and skilled Chef de Partie &ndash; Pastry/Bakery to join our culinary team. In this role, you will be responsible for preparing high-quality pastries, breads, desserts, and baked goods while maintaining the highest standards of food quality, presentation, hygiene, and teamwork.  Prepare special meals or substitute items. Regulate temperature of ovens, broilers, grills, and roasters. Pull food from freezer storage to thaw in the refrigerator. Ensure proper portion, arrangement, and food garnish. Maintain food logs. Monitor the quality and quantity of food that is prepared. Communicate assistance needed during busy periods. Inform Chef of excess food items for use in daily specials. Inform Food &amp; Beverage service staff of menu specials and out of stock menu items. Ensure the quality of the food items. Prepare and cook food according to recipes, quality standards, presentation standards, and food preparation checklist. Prepare cold foods.
 
 
 Assist management in hiring, training, scheduling, evaluating, counseling, disciplining, and motivating and coaching employees; serve as a role model. Follow all company and safety and security policies and procedures; report maintenance needs, accidents, injuries, and unsafe work conditions to manager; complete safety training and certifications. Ensure uniform and personal appearance are clean and professional; maintain confidentiality of proprietary information; protect company assets. Anticipate and address guests&rsquo; service needs. Speak with others using clear and professional language. Develop and maintain positive working relationships with others; support team to reach common goals; listen and respond appropriately to the concerns of other employees. Ensure adherence to quality expectations and standards. Stand, sit, or walk for an extended period of time. Reach overhead and below the knees, including bending, twisting, pulling, and stooping. Move, lift, carry, push, pull, and place objects weighing less than or equal to 25 pounds without assistance. Perform other reasonable job duties as requested by Supervisors.
