Banyan Tree Doha is seeking an experienced and highly motivated Chief Engineer to lead and manage all engineering operations during the pre-opening phase.

 Sufficient knowledge of piping materials to guide staff in the preparation of piping, valve and SP Item specifications and subsequently ensure purchase to required standards.

 Mentoring the mechanical engineers in the department.

 Consistently completes work within budgeted hours.

 Proactive in transferring skills and sharing knowledge.

 Competently prepares proposals and reports.

 Contributes to technology selection studies, process simplification, customized standards, value engineering constructability review, 3D CAD review and cost estimates.

 Quality Assurance &ndash; Responsible for working within the provisions and guidelines of the Quality Assurance system relevant to the BU, etc

 Safety &ndash; Responsible for personal safety safe working practices for the BU, etc. Understand and follow OH&amp;S procedures.

 Essential Skills/Experience

 Experience with the development of layouts for new facilities
 </li>
 <li>
 Experienced in the specification, evaluation and documentation of equipment.
 </li>

 Work is performed in accordance with broad technical guidelines and with minimal supervision.
 </li>

 Ability to work to tight deadlines and prioritisation of work to achieve them.
 </li>
 <li>
 Vast experience with design of pumps, compressors and process equipment. (Experience in turbines will be an asset).
 </li>

 Experience in brown fields &amp; asset services type project / contracts.
 </li>
 <li>
 Experience with interface between MTOs and procurement system.
 </li>
 <li>
 Experience with tender package preparation.
 </li>
 <li>
 Experience in Installation, Construction and Commissioning.

 Understand key equipment fabrication and maintenance requirements.

 Experience in process plant layout.

 Extensive work experience at a senior level within the Oil &amp; Gas industry.

 Full-Time Bachelor&rsquo;s Degree in Mechanical Engineering from an accredited university

 MME (Ministry of Municipality and Environment) engineering accreditation is a mandatory requirement. Candidates not holding this accreditation must be willing to achieve this within the probationary period.

 Chartered Professional Engineer (CPEng) status or undertaking the same will be an advantage

 Primary Objective
 
 
 
 Lead a team of engineers and designers within the projects, the overall technical integrity of its work, and ensure that it is equipped to provide the required engineering services to Worley and its clients.
 
 
 
 Specific Accountabilities

 Lead a team of engineers and designers and maintain a good balance between budget and client expectations.
 </li>
 <li>
 Closely co-ordinate with Client representatives as required for successful delivery
 </li>
 <li>
 Should be hands-on with Qatar Energy, Shell DEP Standards and in the preparation and checking of various engineering deliverables.
 </li>
 <li>
 Lead, prepare and deliver with the back-office team for multiple medium/small-sized portfolio projects.
 </li>
 <li>
 Deliver electrical engineering services that meet Worley, its customers&rsquo;, and applicable statutory and regulatory specifications, on time and within budget.
 </li>
 <li>
 Initiate, manage and where required supervise electrical engineering project requirements
 </li>
 <li>
 Perform electrical engineering services such as:
 </li>
 <ul>
 <li>
 participate in relevant meetings, prepare progress reports, and follow required checking procedures.
 </li>
 <li>
 ensure the project scope is clear and that changes comply with project change management processes.
 </li>
 <li>
 provide assistance and advice during procurement, construction, and commissioning activities. For example, write requisitions, conduct technical bid evaluations, and write purchase orders.
 </li>
 </ul>
 <li>
 If required, act as the electrical engineering Lead on specific projects.
 </li>
 <li>
 If responsible for a team:
 </li>
 <ul>
 <li>
 outline project requirements including actively promoting workshare, where appropriate, assign tasks and supervise progress, and
 </li>

 ensure the required services meet Worley, its customers, and applicable statutory and regulatory requirements, on time and within budget.

 Proactively resolve any discrepancies between Worley and its Customer's requirements.

 Keep up to date with the latest developments and technical innovations in electrical engineering.

 If required, assist, and support junior personnel within the electrical engineering team.

 Communicate effectively with the electrical engineering team and project stakeholders, including the Customer.
