PROGRAM AND LOCATION:</b> VOA, a Certified Great Place to Work, is recruiting for a Chief Financial Officer (CFO) position for VOA-NCNN. The CFO of the $40 million nonprofit organization will serve as a key member of the executive leadership team, responsible for providing strategic financial leadership and oversight to ensure the financial health and sustainability of the organization. This individual will play a critical role in managing financial resources, implementing financial policies and procedures, and supporting the organization&rsquo;s mission-driven initiatives. This position is a hybrid role with some days in the Sacramento office and some days working from home. Responsibilities:

A. Financial Planning and Strategy.</b><br>
1. Develop and implement financial strategies, goals, and objectives aligned with the organization&rsquo;s mission and strategic priorities.<br>
2. Lead the annual budgeting process and long-range financial planning efforts, ensuring alignment with organizational goals and objectives.<br>
3. Provide financial analysis and insights to support decision-making by the executive leadership team and the Board of Directors.</div><div></div><div><b><br>
B. Financial Management and Operations:</b><br>
1. Oversee all aspects of financial management, including accounting, budgeting, cash flow management, and financial reporting.<br>
2. Ensure compliance with accounting principles, regulatory requirements and nonprofit financial standards.<br>
3. Implement and maintain robust internal controls to safeguard the organization&rsquo;s assets and mitigate financial risks.</div><div></div><div><b><br>
C. Financial Reporting and Compliance:</b><br>
1. Prepare accurate and timely financial reports, including financial statements, budget variance analysis, and cash flow projections, for internal and external stakeholders.<br>
2. Coordinate with external auditors and regulatory agencies to ensure compliance with all financial reporting requirements and statutory regulations.<br>
3. Provide support and guidance to program managers and department heads on financial reporting and budget management.</div><div></div><div><b><br>
D. Grant and Contract Management:</b>

1. Oversee the financial aspects of grant and contract administration, including proposal budgeting, financial reporting, and compliance with funding requirements.<br>
2. Work closely with program staff to ensure alignment of grant budgets with programmatic goals and objectives.<br>
3. Monitor grant revenue and expenses, track grant performance metrics, and provide regular updates to stakeholders.<br>

1. Serve as a strategic advisor to the CEO, Board of Directors, and senior leadership team on financial matters and organizational strategy.<br>
2. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate financial considerations into programmatic planning and decision-making.<br>
3. Participate in strategic planning initiatives and contribute to the development of organizational policies and initiatives.</div>
Qualifications:
<div><b>
EQUIVALENT EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:</b></div><div>
Bachelor&rsquo;s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or related field; CPA or MBA preferred. Minimum of</div><div>
7-10 years of progressively responsible experience in financial management, with at least 3-5 years in a senior leadership role within a nonprofit organization. Strong knowledge of nonprofit accounting principles, financial reporting standards, and compliance requirements. Experience with grant and contract management, including federal grants and private foundation funding. Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills, with the ability to interpret complex financial data and provide strategic insights. Exceptional leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build effective relationships with internal and external stakeholders. Demonstrated ability to lead and motivate a team, foster a culture of collaboration and accountability, and drive results in a mission-driven organization. Ideal candidate must have a strong desire to work for an organization dealing with issues unique to homelessness, substance abuse, mental health, seniors, and veterans. The <b>Vice President, Assistant Controller &ndash; Financial Accounting Operations</b> is a senior Controllership leader responsible for governing BD&rsquo;s global financial accounting operations under a centralized operating model. This role owns the global consolidated close process and serves as the primary operational owner for consolidated and statutory audit coordination (planning, PBC readiness, issue resolution, and close-out) in partnership with the SVP, Chief Accounting Officer and Controls/Governance leadership. This role reports to the SVP, Chief Accounting Officer.</p><p></p><p>
The role establishes disciplined engagement and review models across corporate, regional, and business finance teams to enable consistent execution, strong two way communication, and reliable financial outcomes. In addition, the Assistant Controller oversees Accounting Centers of Excellence (ACoEs) for technical accounting domains, ensuring depth of expertise, consistency of interpretation, and scalability across the enterprise.</p><p></p><p><b>
Global Accounting &amp; Close Operations</b></p><ul><li><p>
Own and govern the global monthly, quarterly, and annual consolidated close process, including ledger close, intercompany accounting, eliminations, foreign currency translation, consolidation activities, and the overall accuracy of the balance sheet</p></li><li><p>

The successful candidate will play a pivotal role in overseeing the day-to-day finance function, managing cash flow, supervising the accounting team, and ensuring the accuracy and integrity of financial reporting across both retail (supermarket) and real-estate (rental/property development) operations.</p><p>2.
