Evaluates the risk to the child to remain in the home and recommends course of action. Level I, basic interviews with supervisory direction. Level II, may conduct forensic interviews with supervisory direction. Level III, conducts forensic interviews with minimal supervisory direction. Level IV, conducts forensic interviews and demonstrates advanced skills in professional interviewing techniques.
</p><p>I-IV - Works collaboratively with community agencies including law enforcement, school and medical personnel as it relates to the investigation, provision of services and in accordance with the current AG protocols.
</p><p>I-IV - Makes reasonable efforts to maintain the child in the family by preparing a safety plan with the family to remedy the abusive/neglectful situation.
</p><p>I-IV - Arranges for in-home services to families when it is determined the abuse or neglect allegations are founded and the child can remain safely in the home with agreement by the family that they will cooperate with a case plan. Documents evidence to substantiate reports of child abuse and neglect in order to support the court petition.
</p><p>I-IV - Locates suitable alternative placement to meet specific child/children&rsquo;s needs and in conjunction with policy and practice guidelines and prepares the child and family for the child/children&rsquo;s placement. Facilitates placement and coordinates visitations with the family and transports children and client families to necessary appointments.
</p><p>I-IV - Develops a case record and completes all required documentation which includes the safety plan, court reports and all necessary Bridges documentation of case related activities. Level I, works under the direction of and review by the supervisor. II, has supervisory oversight, III has minimal review by the supervisor and IV is independent of the supervisor.
</p><p>I-III &ndash; Works under direct and close supervisor and receives regularly scheduled weekly supervision. Level II, May serve as a mentor for newly hired staff or supervise an intern. Level III, May serve as a mentor for newly hired staff or supervise a student intern. May provide supervision to other staff at the request of the supervisor.
</p><p>IV - Demonstrates independent decision-making ability and in the absence of the supervisor may assume responsibility for administration of daily business operations. </b></p><p>I-IV - Possesses basic knowledge of the principles of case management in order to manage a caseload, prepares and develops Solution Based case plans in conjunction with the family to ensure that objectives and tasks are being achieved, that court orders are being complied with, when applicable, in accordance with State and Federal Statute. Level II possesses fundamental knowledge. Level III possesses advanced knowledge. Level IV possesses advanced knowledge and manages an increasingly complex caseload.
</p><p>I-IV - Establishes and develops relationships with children and their families in home; arranges and provides services to prevent further abuse/neglect and to enable the child to remain safely in his/her home and maintains contact according to policy. Levels I&amp;II are under the direction of the supervisor.
</p><p>I-IV - Establishes and maintains relationships with children in placement and their families and arranges and provides services to enable children to return home, and makes other alternative permanent plans if appropriate under the direction of the supervisor. Maintains contact with these children and families according to policy including transporting children and families as necessary. As the Level increases there is less supervisory oversight.
</p><p>I-IV - Develops, recommends, implements, monitors, and evaluates family treatment and case plans in collaboration with other community stakeholders. Also responds to crisis situations in regards to a variety of case management situations, under the guidance and direction of the supervisor. <p>Job Description:</p><p>The Gulf Coast Children's Advocacy Center's Trauma Therapy Treatment Team (T4) provides specialized treatment to child victims of child abuse and adult victims of child sexual abuse and sexual assault. Individual and group therapy is available to victims, siblings, and non-offending caretakers. T4 utilizes empirically supported treatment, as clinically indicated, to assist in recovering from abuse, to prevent children&rsquo;s developmental impairment because of the abuse, and to promote healthy, non-abusive relationships. This position is primarily focused on children, but there may be circumstances in which an adult client is scheduled with our therapists.</p><p>Qualifications :</p><p>A Masters degree in Social Work, Mental Health Counseling, Marriage and Family Therapy, Psychology or other behavioral science (license required or working toward licensure). Position works independently to provide child welfare services to children and families to include but not limited to: Assess/ manage for on-going safety threats throughout the life of the case; deliver strength-based family centered case management permanency services to families that promote the safety and well-being and permanency of children. Ensure children have their medical, mental health and educational needs met. Why does the job exist?
<br><br>
Child Protective Services Case Workers make decisions regarding the safety of a child or vulnerable adult, whether to forward referrals to local field offices for investigation or refer a family who has been in an abuse/neglect situation to supportive services. The Case Worker initiates CPS investigations and conducts case management of Child Protective Services investigations cases (family services and legal) consistent with policy and procedures so as to permit the attainment of federal standards and performance-based budget measures - assigned investigations per month or a combination of investigations and permanency cases which are of equal weight. The Case Worker assesses the safety of children alleged to be maltreated and ensures that the appropriate safety decision is made, and that services are provided to parents and children to mitigate identified safety threats. On a rotating basis, provides after-hours response to CPS emergencies. CPS Case Workers coordinate assessments, and permanency plans for children in the custody of the Children, Youth and Families Department (CYFD) to promote child safety, permanency, and well-being. The Case Worker completes licensing requirements on a timely basis and in accordance with CYFD guidelines to have an effective community relationship with clients and vendors. Make decisions regarding granting licensure to foster families, approving adoptive families, matching available children with approved families, and placing children accordingly.

<b>The following describes what the duties for each service area:</b>

<b>Investigations:</b><b>Responsibilities are as follows but not limited to:</b><br>
Initiate CPS investigations in accordance to assigned priority, assessing the safety of and risk to children of the family who are the subject of a CPS referral; on a rotating basis, provide after-hours response to CPS emergencies. Conduct investigations by completing the safety assessment tool, conducting interviews of involved parties, notifying family of investigation decision, disposition and rights to an administrative review. Provide quality practice in the completion of CPS investigations and continuous protective services in accordance with the Protective Services Division policies and procedures.

<b>Permanency:</b><b>Responsibilities are as follows but not limited to:</b><br>
Provide permanency planning services for children served by the agency to promote the safety and permanency of children by conducting ongoing assessments to determine child safety, permanency, and well-being. On a rotating basis, provide after-hours response to emergencies. For assigned cases, conduct ongoing case activities to collect information necessary to create appropriate plans to provide safety, timely permanency and enhanced well-being for children. Provide case management services for children served by the agency. Provide quality services to children served by the agency and assume limited administrative responsibility for unit and other duties as assigned to achieve agency mission by working with management to identify positive practice issues, areas needing improvement, and participating in local reviews.

<b>Licensing and Support:</b><b>Responsibilities are as follows but not limited to:</b><br>
The Licensing and Support worker assesses, and licenses foster homes in a manner that is consistent with Protective Services Division policies and procedures. They conduct ongoing case activities for maintenance and retention of licensed families that promotes family focused and child centered practice. They provide pre and post placement services to pre-adoptive families in accordance with Protective Services Division practice model.

All case workers will complete FACTS documentation on providers as per policy and procedure.
<br>Minimum Qualification
<br><br>
Bachelor's degree in social work, education, counseling, psychology, sociology, criminal justice or family studies from an accredited college/university. Any combination of education from an accredited college or university in a related field and/or direct experience in this occupation totaling four (4) years may substitute for the required education and experience.
<br>Employment Requirements
<br><br>
Must possess and maintain a valid Driver's License. Pre-employment background investigation is required and is conditional pending results.
<br>Working Conditions
<br><br>
<b>Work is performed in an office setting:</b> late hours, weekends, on-call and callback work may be required. Will be exposed to regular periods of video display terminal and keyboard usage and stressful situations. Travel may be required. Possible exposure to irate clientele. Incumbent will work under stress and frequent time constraints. Incumbent will be required to furnish a personal vehicle for carrying out assignments which may include transporting clients including children. Must have own mode of transportation.

<li>Assess the level of risk to the child for additional injury or harm, including whether the child is in imminent danger, and may remove the child from the family as the situation warrants, placing a child in a protected environment.</li>
<li>Perform needs assessments to determine treatment options for families and children reported to be abused/neglected.</li>
<li>Testify and prepare pre-dispositional and progress reports, maintain case files, and develop briefing reports for the community child protection team. Develops &ldquo;informal adjustment&rdquo; plans with families and children to divert children from the juvenile justice system.</li>
<li>Develop case plans to assist families and children to become more self-sufficient in a safe and nurturing environment and to ensure a permanent home for the child.</li>
<li>Develop discharge/transition programming to assist families and children to attain and maintain self-sufficiency in a safe environment.</li>
<li>Monitor and assess the service capability of treatment programs and providers to ensure consistency with the case plan.</li>
<li>Accept on-call responsibility as needed to receive and investigate allegations of child abuse/neglect.</li>
