Develop age-appropriate programs and care for infants through elementary-aged children.</p>

</p><p><b>ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES</b></p>
<ul><li>Oversee the care of children in the Corps nursery or gym during various activities.</li></ul>
<ul><li>Assist to plan age-appropriate programs for toddlers, pre-school, and elementary aged children.</li></ul>
<ul><li>Recommend to the Corps Officer appropriate games, toys, books, and resources that will enable a wholesome experience for children.</li></ul>
<ul><li>Attend training that will ensure the proper care and safety of children, i.e., CPR, First Aid, Safe from Harm.</li></ul>
<ul><li>Maintain adequate supply of resource materials to administer the program.</li></ul>
<ul><li>Promote participation of parents and other trained helpers.</li></ul>
<ul><li>Facilitate training, as necessary, for helpers in the childcare program.</li></ul>
<ul><li>All other duties as assigned.</li></ul>
<p><b>REPORTING RELATIONSHIPS</b></p>
<p>
Under general supervision of the Youth Development Director with minimal freedom to plan, schedule and carry out responsibilities within established policies and procedures.</p>
<p>
This individual relates to, and interacts with, a wide range of contacts both within and</p>
<p>
outside The Salvation Army. In these contacts, they act as a representative of the Army and its mission.
</p><p></p><p><b>PERFORMANCE MEASUREMENTS</b></p>
<p>
This individual will be evaluated on how effectively the outcomes of this position are achieved, as well as the timeliness, accuracy, and completeness of accomplishing assigned goals.</p>
<p>
A 30, 60, and 90-day performance review will be conducted.</p>

</p><p><b>EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE
</b></p><ul><li>Must have completed the 9th grade.</li>
<li>Must be at least 15 years of age.</li>
<li>Previous experience working with children preferred.</li>
<li>Fluency (written and verbal) in Spanish is preferred.

<p><b>PHYSICAL DEMANDS/WORK ENVIRONMENT
</b></p><ul><li>This position is required to do light to moderate physical work and must be able to lift 20 pounds.
</li><li>In order to successfully perform the essential functions of this position, the employee is regularly required to interact with children.
</li><li>The work environment for this position includes an office and nursery environment with low to moderate noise level.
</li><li>Maintain positive work atmosphere by behaving and communicating in a manner that fosters and maintains positive relationships with co-workers and supervisors.
