Job Overview Join our vibrant early childhood education team as a Child Care Center Assistant Teacher! We are looking for passionate individuals with experience working in a licensed child care facility. This position offers an exciting opportunity to make a positive impact on children&rsquo;s lives while gaining valuable classroom experience in a supportive setting.DutiesA generalized list of job duties include:<ul><li>Establish and maintain daily schedule</li><li>Maintain ratio within the classrooms</li><li>Follow chain of command</li><li>Follow direction of Lead Staff with team work &amp; respect</li><li>Assist in implementing weekly lessons</li><li>Individualize lessons and interactions based on the age and developmental level of all children</li><li>Make necessary accommodations for children with disabilities</li><li>Make sure all classroom supplies are in rooms for the day</li><li>Maintain safety and well being of all children in care</li><li>Document and administer medications and sunscreen, when approved by the child&rsquo;s parent and Director</li><li>Document and change diapers every other hour, unless needed. Assist pottying/accidents when needed.</li><li>Always take attendance and know how many children are within class. Document on attendance sheet.</li><li>Maintain clean and organized classroom, bathroom, kitchen area, including at nap and at the end of day</li><li>Greet parents and children upon arrival and departure</li><li>Create a warm, inviting, organized, and stimulating learning environment</li><li>Always label and date food in refrigerator and throw out food that is not labeled or dated</li><li>Maintain organized and defined centers (sensory, housekeeping etc)</li><li>Routinely check for safety concerns within the classroom, outside the classroom and the playground</li><li>Decorate room with children&rsquo;s art work</li><li>Responsible for serving meals, making accommodations for food allergies and intolerances and documenting of meal counts for each meal</li><li>Attend relevant trainings approved by Director</li><li>Implement effective guidance and discipline techniques</li><li>Maintain current Background Clearance, CPR, First Aid, annual STARS, BBP and Food Handlers card</li><li>Assist and supervise field trips when needed</li><li>Maintain confidentiality of children, staff and families</li><li>Maintain professionalism in conduct and appearance</li><li>Follow Wee Care Day Care Employee Handbook, Health Policy, and Disaster Policy, the WACS, Foundational Skills and Competencies, and Early Achievers standards including ERS and CLASS</li></ul>Pre-Employment qualifications include:High School Diploma TB test 1st Aid/CPRQualifications within 90 days of hire include: Child Care Basic STARSThe hourly wage range is $18.50-$22.50 and is dependent on level of education.Benefits include: A fun and friendly atmosphere!
