<div>DIVISION OF CHILD AND FAMILY SERVICES is recruiting for a Social Worker 1 underfilling a Social Worker 3 position in the Carson City Child Welfare office. Position works independently to provide child welfare services to children and families to include but not limited to: Assess/ manage for on-going safety threats throughout the life of the case; deliver strength-based family centered case management permanency services to families that promote the safety and well-being and permanency of children. Ensure children have their medical, mental health and educational needs met. Ensure Case Plans are developed and reviewed in accordance w/ policy and practice guidelines; documentation of assessments, CFT&rsquo;s, monthly caseworker visits, court reports, social summaries, diligent search efforts, TPR packets and other pertinent paperwork. A current Nevada Social Work license is a requirement for employment. <div>Assess and reassess client levels of functioning by interviewing clients, family members and other community contacts; utilize tests, inventories, and other assessment tools; review medical, legal and law enforcement reports; and evaluate client resources for the purpose of identifying the level of assistance needed and services appropriate to meet client emotional, social, financial and health needs. 
 
Develop and implement a case plan that presents intervention strategies to meet client needs including alternative placement, job training, socialization, nursing services, legal and medical intervention, and financial assistance according to federal and State regulatory guidelines and budget limitations. 
 
Locate and coordinate a network of services and resources provided by other State agencies, community organizations and private service providers in areas such as mental health, substance abuse, rehabilitation, developmental, homemaking, financial assistance, and employment programs pertinent to assessing client needs and case plan goals. 
 
Provide ongoing case management services by conducting home visits, monitoring delivery of services and quality of care, and reassessing client needs; track client progress and well-being, evaluate case plan effectiveness, and effectively manage resources; assist clients in identifying strengths and barriers and developing problem- solving and coping abilities; collaborate and coordinate case reviews with families, friends, attorneys and multiple agencies including social and community services and law enforcement to ensure case continuity and prevent conflicting case plans and duplication of services. 
 
May organize multidisciplinary team (MDT) meetings to assist in strategic assessment and planning of protective services, issues regarding the delivery of service, programs, or individual plans for preventing, identifying, remedying, or treating abuse, neglect, exploitation, isolation, or abandonment of children or vulnerable adults; MDT teams may include representatives of other organizations concerned with education, law enforcement, or physical and/or mental health. 
 
Document case activities; maintain written case histories to include client status, progress and assessment results; complete necessary forms and prepare relevant correspondence and case reports according to applicable policies, procedures, laws and regulations. 
 
Provide crisis intervention in the office or community setting to include responding to emergency calls; report instances of neglect or abuse to the appropriate authorities; utilize appropriate controls for individuals who may be aggressive, combative, or hostile by following established protocols and policies. May provide technical assistance, training, guidance and/or serve as lead workers to other new or experienced Social Workers; may train, supervise, and evaluate the performance of non-professional staff such as Family Support Workers and Administrative Assistants. 
 
Perform related duties as assigned. 
 
Under close supervision, incumbents at this level function in a trainee capacity, learning to determine social service needs of clients, develop appropriate solutions and case plans, and provide ongoing case management services. This is the trainee level in the series and progression to the next level in the series may occur upon meeting minimum qualifications, satisfactory performance, and with the recommendation of the appointing authority.</div>

<div>This position provides guardianship and case management services for incapacitated adults under the supervision of the Office of the Public Guardian. Responsibilities include conducting interviews and assessments to determine client needs; monitoring the health, safety, and welfare of wards; making decisions regarding care and services; developing and monitoring treatment plans; and coordinating with case managers, service providers, and community agencies to ensure appropriate support and resources are provided. The position attends and testifies in court proceedings, prepares and submits guardianship reports, provides information, consultation, and referrals regarding guardianship matters, and assists in maintaining collaborative relationships with courts, attorneys, service providers, and community organizations. Additional duties include supervising social work interns and volunteers, conducting training and educational outreach on guardianship issues, and maintaining accurate case documentation and records. <div>Education Requirement: Graduation from an accredited four (4) year college or university with a bachelor&rsquo;s degree which included a minimum of twelve (12) semester credit hours in courses such as social work, social welfare, criminal justice, human services, counseling, psychology, sociology, or other related social sciences. 
 
Excess work experience as described under Specialized Experience below, or any other responsible administrative, professional or analytical work experience which provided knowledge and abilities comparable to those acquired in four (4) years of successful study while completing a college or university curriculum leading to a bachelor&rsquo;s degree may be substituted on a year-for-year basis. To be acceptable, the experience must have been of such scope, level and quality as to assure the possession of comparable knowledge and abilities. 
 
The education or experience background must also demonstrate the ability to write clear and comprehensive reports and other documents; read and interpret complex written material; and solve complex problems logically and systematically. 
 
Specialized Experience: Two and one-half (2-1/2) years of progressively responsible professional social work experience which involved utilizing a variety of social work skills and exercising professional judgement in the process of assisting individuals and their families with identifying their problems, evaluating the situation realistically, and considering resources and alternative courses of action pertinent to their needs and circumstances. Position Summary:

The goal of the Domestic Violence Co-Location Program (DVCLP) is to enhance the effectiveness of the child welfare interventions into the lives of families experiencing domestic violence. The Community Advocate for the DVCLP is responsible for providing support to both child welfare professionals working with families experiencing domestic violence and to all members of the family experiencing domestic violence and child welfare interventions. This position partners with DCFS to specifically target the shared goals of the domestic violence community and DCFS to end violence in Illinois families, reduce risk, enhance the safety of adult and child survivors, foster offender accountability, support parental strengths and protective capacities, and improve outcomes for children and families experiencing domestic violence in the child welfare system that promote safety, stability, wellbeing and healing. The Community Advocate will aim to improve communication and coordination among child welfare and other community-based services and systems. The Community Advocate reports to the Community Advocacy Program Supervisor, will work closely with the Associate Director on the DVCLP, and will work collaboratively with our Intervention team. 
Essential Duties and Responsibilities: Other duties may be assigned. 


Provide consultation to child welfare professionals.

The purpose of the consultation is to help build the capacity of child welfare professionals to adequately understand and interpret the dynamics and impact of the domestic violence on the family, and to craft effective interventions that enhance the safety, stability, wellbeing and healing of all members of the family.
<ul>
<li>Provide expert guidance, advice, professional opinions, and strategies related to domestic violence based upon the information gathered at the point of the intervention to child welfare workers</li>
<li>Provide guidance on questions for the child welfare worker to ask and information to gather.</li>
<li>Identify each parent/adult as either the adult survivor or parent using violence and coercive control (PUVCC)</li>
<li>Provide expertise in identifying the following: (1) the perpetrator&rsquo;s pattern of coercive control and battering tactics, and power and control, (2) the dynamics of domestic violence present in the particular home, and (3) the immediate and future safety risks to the adult and child survivors.</li>
<li>Identify the potential options for safety strategies..</li>
<li>Identify the adult survivor&rsquo;s strengths and protective efforts, and collaboratively build interventions that enhance these strengths and foster protective factors</li>
<li>Identify precautionary measures that the adult survivor took.</li>
<li>Analyze the impact of the perpetrator&rsquo;s violence on the children and risk of harm.</li>
<li>Determine high risk indicators for intimate partner homicide.</li>
<li>Provide coverage on the 24-hour crisis line during business hours (will be assigned shifts) and assistance with on-call (see below).</li></ul> 
Support DCFS involved Families and Provide Data for the DVCLP

The purpose of direct contact with families is to assist and support the family during the child welfare intervention, and to gather and interpret information that forms the basis for the effective intervention governed by an Informed Consent process.
<ul>
<li>The DVLCA will engage with all members of the families to provide information about child welfare, support and education on domestic violence, domestic violence safety planning, crisis intervention, advocacy, expedited access to domestic violence services, and referral to other community or social services.</li>
<li>Direct contact with families may occur in the survivor&rsquo;s home in accordance with the Home Visiting Policy, shelter, DCFS Office, Child and Family Team Meeting, partner Domestic Violence Agency, or other safe location.</li>
<li>Update and maintain database for project and provide reports as needed.</li>
<li>Ensure appropriate releases are signed in order to communicate with partner organizations, including DCFS.</li>
<li>The DVLCA will have a case load of 2-4 clients in which they provide advocacy services and emotional support.</li></ul> 


Educate child welfare professionals about domestic violence and Sarah&rsquo;s Inn services.

The purpose of trainings/education is to increase cross-system understanding of child welfare and domestic violence by specifically focusing on identified topics that enhance the ability of child welfare professionals to meet the complex needs of families experiencing domestic violence and to ensure that the domestic violence community, in turn understands the experiences of families in the child welfare system.
<ul>
<li>In collaboration with Sarah&rsquo;s Inn&rsquo;s Training &amp; Education Program, provide training to child welfare staff partner domestic violence staff, judges and community partners/stakeholders.</li>
<li>In collaboration with Sarah&rsquo;s Inn&rsquo;s Training &amp; Education Program, coordinate and train on topics, including but not limited to, dynamics and impact of domestic violence, unique needs of adult victims and children, partnering with domestic violence survivors to achieve child safety, safety planning strategies, perpetrator engagement and accountability, the impact of perpetrators&rsquo; violence on children and DV/child welfare best practice.</li>

Provide comprehensive and quality services to victims of domestic violence and their families (includes children and teen witnesses) directly served by Sarah&rsquo;s Inn.
<ul><li>Provide direct DV services to survivors who contact Sarah&rsquo;s Inn directly. Any persons referred by the DVCLP should be assigned to a different staff member.</li>
<li>Provide on-going counseling and emotional support to victims of domestic violence and their families through in-person individual sessions and group sessions.</li>
<li>Provide crisis intervention, general and legal advocacy, referral, domestic violence education, safety planning, and emotional support for victims of domestic violence and their families over the phone or in-person.</li>
<li>Advocate on behalf of victims of domestic violence and their families within various systems to include social service, housing, economic, legal, health care and education.</li>

Responsibilities:
ASSESSMENT I-IV DETAILED TASKS (AGENCY/POSITION-SPECIFIC):
I-IV - Establishes and develops relationships with children and their families to assess and secure immediate safety of the child and prevent further abuse/neglect.
I-IV - Conducts basic interviews of the victim and perpetrator in the report within prescribed time frames according to the risk to the child and validity of the report. Evaluates the risk to the child to remain in the home and recommends course of action. Level I, basic interviews with supervisory direction. Level II, may conduct forensic interviews with supervisory direction. Level III, conducts forensic interviews with minimal supervisory direction. Level IV, conducts forensic interviews and demonstrates advanced skills in professional interviewing techniques.
I-IV - Works collaboratively with community agencies including law enforcement, school and medical personnel as it relates to the investigation, provision of services and in accordance with the current AG protocols.
I-IV - Makes reasonable efforts to maintain the child in the family by preparing a safety plan with the family to remedy the abusive/neglectful situation.
I-IV - Arranges for in-home services to families when it is determined the abuse or neglect allegations are founded and the child can remain safely in the home with agreement by the family that they will cooperate with a case plan. Documents evidence to substantiate reports of child abuse and neglect in order to support the court petition.
I-IV - Locates suitable alternative placement to meet specific child/children&rsquo;s needs and in conjunction with policy and practice guidelines and prepares the child and family for the child/children&rsquo;s placement. Facilitates placement and coordinates visitations with the family and transports children and client families to necessary appointments.
I-IV - Develops a case record and completes all required documentation which includes the safety plan, court reports and all necessary Bridges documentation of case related activities. Level I, works under the direction of and review by the supervisor. II, has supervisory oversight, III has minimal review by the supervisor and IV is independent of the supervisor.
I-III &ndash; Works under direct and close supervisor and receives regularly scheduled weekly supervision. Level II, May serve as a mentor for newly hired staff or supervise an intern. Level III, May serve as a mentor for newly hired staff or supervise a student intern. May provide supervision to other staff at the request of the supervisor.
IV - Demonstrates independent decision-making ability and in the absence of the supervisor may assume responsibility for administration of daily business operations. Also demonstrates and can articulate leadership skills and ability and is a positive influence to other employees. Receives regularly scheduled supervision at a minimum of every two weeks. Serves as a mentor and may supervise interns. Exercises authority over subordinate staff and provides supervision at the request of the supervisor
I-IV - Completes training requirements according to policy including individual training plan and 30 hours of in-service training annually after completion of Child Protective Service Worker (CPSW) Academy.

FAMILY SERVICES I-IV DETAILED TASKS (AGENCY/POSITION-SPECIFIC):
I-IV - Possesses basic knowledge of the principles of case management in order to manage a caseload, prepares and develops Solution Based case plans in conjunction with the family to ensure that objectives and tasks are being achieved, that court orders are being complied with, when applicable, in accordance with State and Federal Statute. Level II possesses fundamental knowledge. Level III possesses advanced knowledge. Level IV possesses advanced knowledge and manages an increasingly complex caseload.
I-IV - Establishes and develops relationships with children and their families in home; arranges and provides services to prevent further abuse/neglect and to enable the child to remain safely in his/her home and maintains contact according to policy. Levels I&amp;II are under the direction of the supervisor.
I-IV - Establishes and maintains relationships with children in placement and their families and arranges and provides services to enable children to return home, and makes other alternative permanent plans if appropriate under the direction of the supervisor. Maintains contact with these children and families according to policy including transporting children and families as necessary. As the Level increases there is less supervisory oversight.
I-IV - Develops, recommends, implements, monitors, and evaluates family treatment and case plans in collaboration with other community stakeholders. Also responds to crisis situations in regards to a variety of case management situations, under the guidance and direction of the supervisor. Level III, requires maintaining control in intense and controversial situations and able to independently prioritize work demands under minimal direction of the supervisor. Level IV requires that they also independently prioritize work demands.
I-IV - Completes all required documentation, including case plans, court reports and all necessary Bridges documentation of case related activities.

<div>DIVISION OF CHILD AND FAMILY SERVICES is recruiting for a Casework Management Specialist 3 in the Winnemucca Child Welfare Office. Under supervision, incumbents determine social service needs of clients, develop appropriate solutions and case plans, and provide ongoing case management services. Incumbent provides child welfare services to children and families to develop and implement a case plan that presents intervention strategies to meet the child's needs; ensures children have their medical, mental health and educational needs met; provides strength-based family centered case management services to families that promote the safety and well-being and permanency of children, including home visits, monitoring services, report preparation and record keeping. Incumbents receive training in performing the duties outlined in the series concept.

<div>Develop, manage, and implement case plans and safety plans by interviewing the client, family members, collaterals, court stakeholders and care providers to support the safety, permanency, and well-being of assigned clientele; on a continuing basis, assess individuals/clients using agency approved assessment tools to evaluate, identify and determine social service needs and advise clients of their service related rights and responsibilities; identify goals and develop strategies based on established objectives and available resources; review client&rsquo;s history, report observations and recommend changes; remediate deficits and provide intervention strategies; assist care providers in learning techniques to enhance the care provider/client relationship; evaluate the effectiveness of the plan in meeting the client, family and care provider needs; utilize evidence based practices to bring about change behavior to ensure client goals are accomplished; review plan with client and family/care provider and revise as needed.
