 Role Overview:
 
 
 
 
 
 
 The Geotechnical Engineer will be responsible for reviewing, monitoring, and ensuring the quality and compliance of all geotechnical works related to major road, highway, and bridge construction within a PMC and construction supervision environment. The role focuses on site execution, technical review, and coordination rather than design development.
 
 
 
 
 
 
 Responsibilities:

 Review geotechnical investigation reports, soil parameters, and foundation design submissions for roads, highways, and bridge structures.
 </li>
 <li>
 Monitor site activities including excavation, backfilling, compaction, piling, and ground improvement works.
 </li>
 <li>
 Ensure compliance with project specifications, international standards, and client (RCRC) requirements.
 </li>
 <li>
 Coordinate with contractors and design teams to resolve geotechnical issues during construction.
 </li>
 <li>
 Evaluate slope stability, embankment performance, and settlement behavior for road corridors.
 </li>
 <li>
 Supervise and verify field and laboratory testing (soil classification, compaction, plate load tests, etc.).
 </li>
 <li>
 Provide technical input for foundation systems of bridges (deep/shallow foundations, piling works).
 </li>
 <li>
 Review method statements, shop drawings, and material submittals related to geotechnical works.
 </li>
 <li>
 Identify risks related to ground conditions and propose mitigation measures.
 </li>
 <li>
 Prepare technical reports, site observations, and non-conformance reports (NCRs) when required.

 Qualifications:

 Bachelor&rsquo;s degree in Civil Engineering (Master&rsquo;s in Geotechnical Engineering is preferred).

 Minimum 15 years of experience in geotechnical engineering.
 </li>
 <li>
 Proven experience in PMC / construction supervision projects (mandatory).
 </li>
 <li>
 Strong background in major roads, highways, and bridge projects (mandatory).
 </li>
 <li>
 Experience in the Middle East / Saudi Arabia is preferred.

 Lead inspection to determine the present condition steel structures, types, extent, rate and causes of deterioration, estimate the time remaining before repair or replacement, effects on serviceability if repair or replacement is deferred and the most cost-effective means to prevent further deterioration of the Structure and to study the performance of a material under a specific exposure

 Provide repair methods for concrete structure
 </li>
 <li>
 Review structural vibration measurements and evaluate with construction code and standards and provide solutions to resolve any structural vibration issues
 </li>
 <li>
 Need to identify the root causes of identified steel deteriorations and clear recommendations to prevent reoccurrence and rectify the findings (short term and long-term recommendations shall be provided separately).
 </li>
 <li>
 Must have experience in Construction and repair of tanks, reservoir, ponds, drainage pits, sump pits, basins etc. Repair of steel structures, beams and columns and slabs, dykes, foundation etc. Retrofitting and strengthening of concrete and steel structures etc. in Live Plant).
 </li>
 <li>
 Experience in sea water cooling tower inspection and maintenance
 </li>
 <li>
 Lead soil settlement survey and provide correction plan for settled area in plant
 </li>
 <li>
 Strong focus on quality assurance, implementing rigorous inspection and testing protocols to ensure structural integrity.
 </li>
 <li>
 Required to conduct detailed assessments of existing structures, identifying weaknesses, and providing recommendations for re-strengthening and rehabilitation.
 </li>
 <li>
 Successfully executed numerous structural rehabilitation projects, extending the lifespan of aging infrastructure and enhancing safety and reliability.
 </li>
 <li>
 Ability to evaluate complex technical issues and provide clear recommendations.
 </li>
 <li>
 Review and validate engineering design packages, drawings, specifications, calculations, and contractor submittals to ensure compliance with project requirements and international standards.
 </li>
 <li>
 Participate in site audits, quality surveillance for ongoing repair or maintenance activities.
 </li>
 <li>
 Ensure compliance with relevant standards such as ACI, AISC, ASTM, ASCE, Saudi Building Code, and company internal standards.
 </li>

 Review geotechnical studies/reports including soil profile interpretation, subsurface investigations, soil foundation engineering, settlement analysis, lateral earth pressures, slope stability, and site investigations surveys etc.
 </li>

 Participate in multi‑disciplinary technical discussions and provide reliable guidance.
 </li>
 <li>
 Stay updated on industry trends, technologies, and best practices in QA/QC to continuously improve processes and contribute to the overall success of the organization

 Bachelor&rsquo;s degree in civil engineering with minimum experience of 5 years in structural engineering for Petrochemical plant structure inspection and Health assessment.
