<div><div>The Deputy Clerk III will be in the criminal division which shall include courtroom. Must be able to work up under stress. This position is responsible for providing initially criminal court administration assistance to judges, attorneys, defendants, and court personnel. This class is responsible preparing all necessary paperwork to reflect judge&rsquo;s orders whether in criminal or if necessary civil proceedings. This class involves organizing and maintaining departmental records and updating the case management and financial management systems. This class works within a general outline of work to be performed; develops work methods and sequences under general supervision.<br>
Document authentication of legal documents through the certification process. Preparation, gather and organize all required judicial paperwork with accuracy and in accordance with appropriate policies and statutory regulations with a broader skill level.<br>

Performs job duties at an advanced level based on circuit court knowledge and experience, including but not limited to; resolving each specific hearing for a various number of defendants.<br>
Understanding process for Circuit Court Capias when receiving and examining defendant&rsquo;s paperwork. Coordination of the placement of defendant&rsquo;s circuit court docket that are required to attend their circuit court arraignment. Expect to be able and qualified in handling court reporter, defendants, and witness&rsquo;s oaths. Must transcribe swiftly and accurately judge&rsquo;s orders. <div><div>The Deputy Clerk II will start in the criminal division and expected to be cross trained for the courtroom. This class is responsible for preparing all necessary paperwork to reflect the judge&rsquo;s orders and probation violations in criminal proceedings. This will allow our criminal supervisors to manage effectively, efficiently for the Clerk&rsquo;s office, and have back up which will allow continuation to operate seamlessly with confidence and overall security. Deputy Clerk II must multitask in order to be able to start and stop what they are doing. The Deputy Clerk II must have extensive knowledge preferably court experience but will train prior general or juvenile domestic courtroom experience. Other tasks but not limited to include researching guidelines and composing and typing a variety of routine documents. This class involves organizing and maintaining departmental records and updating the case management (CCMS) and financial management systems (FAS). The class works within a general outline of work to be performed; develops work methods and sequences under general supervision.<br>

Preparation of legal papers with accuracy and in accordance with appropriate policies and statutory regulations with a broader skill level. Performs job duties at an advanced level based on circuit court knowledge and experience. Serves in the delivery of court case management support, court financial management support, interface with the judges and administrative support staff, prepare court orders, disseminate court orders and findings, and review and exchange court rulings and documentation with appropriate agencies. Process all judicial documents, including case entry, capias, accurately and timely which affect one&rsquo;s life and liberty. Does jail mail, copy requests, issue subpoenas and subpoena duces tecum and those returned, Commonwealth Attorney subpoenas for witnesses, witness list, letters of representation, payment agreements, front counter customer service including answer phone questions and written requests. </p><p>Duties may include work in the following areas: case processing, scheduling, records maintenance, finance, jury, courtroom support, social/customer service, technical assistance and computer support, and other administrative matters. Examples include but are not limited to:
</p><ul><li>Maintaining case files for criminal, civil, traffic, and other cases from initial to final disposition in accordance with established procedures and designated timelines.
</li><li>Assisting in maintaining court calendars by scheduling hearings according to procedures.
</li><li>Providing customer service in many ways to many different people by providing information about the court's protocols and procedures to make sure they receive correct information.
</li><li>Assisting victims of domestic violence with court processes to ensure they receive timely attention to requests for protection orders and information on services available in their areas.
</li><li>Providing assistance in courtrooms by maintaining case files and minutes of proceedings; handling in-court exhibits; empaneling juries; recording proceedings; being responsible for sound and video equipment; and providing court interpretive services when needed to facilitate processes of the court.
</li><li>Performing other work as assigned.
</li></ul><p><b>Minimum Qualifications:<br>
</b><br>
</p><p>Requires a high school diploma or possession of a GED certificate and one year of general clerical experience; or an equivalent combination of related education and experience.
</p><p>Successful completion of a criminal background investigation is required for employment.

</li><li>legal terminology;
</li><li>general office and bookkeeping practices.

</p><p></p><ul><li>communicate effectively both verbally and in writing;
</li><li>listen and understand;

</li><li>recognize and defuses escalating situations with customers and staff;
</li><li>use computers and related software systems proficiently;
</li><li>multi-task and adapt quickly to change;
</li><li>prioritize work activities to ensure most important items are done first.
