A. Position Summary
Under general supervision of the Medical Director and the administrative direction of the Health Center manager, serves as the lead physician at the designated clinic and provides and manages direct health care for a specified patient population. 
B. Essential Duties And Responsibilities
1. Provides health care services to FCCH patients as authorized by the medical license and in accordance with the FCCH Physician job description;
2. Assume a leadership provider role which includes appropriate modeling and compliance with all clinical policies and procedures, serving as a team player, and maintaining the highest conduct of ethics and workmanship.
3. Works with the Health Center Manager and Nurse Flow Manager to ensure systems are in place for providers to provide care to patients based on the federal standard of 4250 patient encounters per year per 1.0 FTE which averages 21-22 patient encounters per day.

5. Serves as the key liaison to the Medical Director regarding clinical and programmatic issues.

8. Supervises the other medical providers within the assigned health center to include evaluating performance at 1 month, 3 month, 6 month and annually (month before anniversary date from date of hire), scheduling, and recommending action in disciplinary and termination matters. Meet with providers to give appropriate feedback and discuss any issues or concerns.
9. Assists the Nurse Flow Manager in hiring, evaluating and supervising clinical and laboratory support staff.
10. Assists the Chief Operations Officer in the hiring and evaluating of the Health Center Manager.
11. Assist with and conduct interviews of potential new providers to the clinic. Assist with the decision making of hiring new providers. Assist with the orientation of newly hired providers.
12. Assists the Health Center Manager and Nurse Flow Manager in planning, developing and evaluating clinic protocols and the medical aspect of clinic operations which are consistent with organizational medical policies and procedures.
13. Provides direction to center staff in the absence of the Nurse Flow Manager and/or Health Center Manager in matters that require immediate supervisory attention, for example, patient complaints.
14. Provides recommendations and implements protocols regarding quality assurance studies, clinical outcome measures and patient satisfaction, as ways to improve clinic operations and quality of care.
15. Ensures that information received from the Health Center Manager and/or management team is disseminated and discussed with the personnel under his/her supervision as appropriate.
16. Assists in the development of the site budget and is responsible for operating the center within the budget.
17. Coordinates orientation for new staff and on-going training for all staff.
18. Participates on FCCH committees and may serve as chairperson on quality assurance, medical education, and other committees.
19. Encouraged to participate in the Albuquerque medical community activities;
20. Assists in implementing and monitoring Quality Improvement Program at the respective site.
21. Meet weekly with the other members of the clinical leadership team, i.e. the Health Center Manager (HCM) and the nurse flow manager (NFM), to discuss and help resolve on-going and new clinic-related issues. One hour a week of admin time is to be set aside for this meeting and an additional hour of admin time can be set aside to complete other tasks/duties at the discretion of the clinical supervisor and clinic.
22. Collaborate with clinic leadership team and PCMH coordinator in determining clinical workflow changes to meet requirements for PCMH recognition, and implement those changes among the providers and clinical staff.
23. Sign off on all documents and medical records within the clinic that do not belong to a specific PCP or if needed, to cover for a particular provider for extended period of time (i.e. while on medical leave.)
24. Supervise locum tenens provider or mid-level providers as necessary within the clinic.
25. Participate at the leadership meetings in a productive and team-oriented manner and as a representative of the site. Participate in Medical/Dental Committee monthly as appropriate. This will at times include minor assignments to assist the committee with the proposed changes or updates in clinical guidelines, policies, and procedures.
26. Assist in resolving conflicts between providers and/or staff when appropriate in a professional and ethical manner.
27. Assist with patient care and complaints as indicated, enforcing and communicating the clinic&rsquo;s policies and procedures when indicated.
28. Report to the Medical or Assistant Medical Director when there are issues that involve their input or that of the management team or when concerns arise that are not able to be addressed on an individual site level.
29. Medical Director will conduct evaluations of all Clinical Supervisors annually as appropriate.
30. Ensures compliance with clinical standards of FCCH and of external regulatory agencies.
31. Performs miscellaneous job-related duties as assigned.
Requirements:

C. MINIMUM EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE<ul><li>
New Mexico Board Certified MD or Advanced Practice Provider</li><li>
Completion of residency with board certification/eligibility in family practice, internal medicine, or pediatrics preferred;

PHYSICAL SKILLS REQUIRED:
<ul><li>Must pass pre-employment physical exam, TB and drug screening</li>
<li>Ability to commute to various sites on and off campus</li>
<li>Ability to work extended hours as needed</li>
</ul>
CLEARANCES REQUIRED:
<ul><li>DOJ, FBI, Child Abuse Index</li>
<li>Insurability under Corporate Automobile Insurance</li>
</ul>
DESCRIPTION OF DUTIES:
<ul><li>Ensure that the Mental Health Clinicians are in full regulatory compliance and that clinical services are delivered in accordance with recognized best practices
</li><li>Provide individual and group supervision for Mental Health Clinicians in accordance with regulatory requirements and accreditation standards and agency policy
</li><li>Provide collaboration with Quality Assurance and Compliance Team Members to ensure documentation compliance.
</li><li>Work with other Department supervisors/managers to increase clear communication and mutual support between programs
</li><li>Monitor and assure adherence of programs to all governing bodies
</li><li>Monitor care records to assure that required treatment documentation is included and meets agency and professional standards
</li><li>Monitor and review all agency protocols and practices
</li><li>Assist Clinicians in developing treatment plans which ensure quality services and are sensitive to cultural issues.
</li><li>Provide crisis intervention as required.
</li><li>Remain on call for clinical emergencies.
</li><li>Other related duties as assigned.
