<div><p><b>MAJOR FUNCTION:</b></p><p>
The clinical nurse educator assesses, promotes and contributes to the quality of nursing care administered to patients and their support systems throughout the health care continuum. Specialization in nursing practice includes in-depth study of relevant theories and scientific knowledge related to various patient populations, which promotes the ability to analyze and refine nursing practice and generate increase nursing knowledge. The Clinical Nurse Educator must have the ability to use the nursing process sequential steps of assessment, diagnosis, planning, implementation and evaluation in formulating the plan of care, and have the ability to supervise and educate others. The Clinical Nurse Educator performs the roles of expert clinician, educator and researcher based on focal clinical priorities and are responsible for designing, delivering and evaluating outcomes leader to continuous improvement. The clinical nurse educator must have excellent verbal and written communication, advanced critical thinking skills and have the ability to collaborate with medical providers and interdisciplinary teams to ensure evidence-based nursing practice models are promoted. The Clinical Nurse Educator should be knowledgeable of the latest nursing research trends and have the ability to influence staff to perform at the top of their license. The Nurse Educators must have the ability to motivate and educate staff to adopt new practice changes and adherence to the organization policies and procedures. The Clinical Nurse Educator educates clinical nurses, nursing assistants and technicians in the use of new equipment, supplies and instruments; coordinates in-service training and skills workshops for all appropriate staff. The Clinical Nurse Educator may also serve as a preceptor to influence staff nurses&rsquo; professional development. The Clinical Nurse Educator is responsible for assisting the Nursing Leaders in achieving the organizational strategic plan goals by monitoring quality data and staff performance.</p><p><b>

</p><p></p><p><b>Essential Responsibilities:
</b></p><ul><li>Responsible for ensuring all patients in assigned area receive quality and comprehensive care.
</li><li>Coordinates patient care throughout the continuum of care in collaboration with the multidisciplinary team.
</li><li>Ensures proper documentation (Orders and Authorizations) are available and correct for each individual patient.
</li><li>Serves as a clinical resource for care management.
</li><li>Provides expert nursing care which includes direct clinical practice, consultation, education and research.
</li><li>Uses clinical expertise and management skills to direct patient/family education and services to ensure the delivery of high quality care in the most family-centered, efficient and economical manner.
</li><li>Communicates with all members of the team on behalf of the patient.
</li><li>Works in collaboration with internal and external interdisciplinary team members to achieve excellence patient service throughout the plan of care.
</li><li>In collaboration with the management team, is responsible for planning, implementing, evaluating and documenting staff development related to patient/family education and quality patient care.
</li></ul><p></p><p><b>General Responsibilities:
</b></p><ul><li>Performs other duties as assigned.
</li></ul><p></p><p><b>Minimum Qualifications </b>:
</p><p><b>Education: </b>Associate's Degree in Nursing required. Bachelor's Degree in Nursing preferred.
</p><p><b>Experience: </b>3 or more years of experience in Patient Care as a Registered Nurse in the acute care setting required.
</p><p><b>License(s)/Certification(s)/Registration(s) Required: </b>Current Registered Nurse License (RN License issued by the Oklahoma State Board of Nursing, or a current multistate compact Registered Nurse (eNLC)).
</p><p></p><p><b>Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
</b></p><ul><li>Knowledge of nursing theory, practices, techniques, procedures and standards.
</li><li>Knowledge of the principles of supervising staff.
</li><li>Skill in planning and organizing nursing care, applying advanced nursing clinical skills, maintaining records and charts, and preparing written reports.
</li><li>Skilled in maintaining effective working relationships with others.
</li><li>Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
</li><li>Ability to work effectively as part of a team.
