The Nursing Process<ul><li>
It is an expectation that the nursing process be used throughout the nursing curriculum and in each individual course.
Specific Levels of Faculty as required by BRN Regulation:
</li><li>Content Expert: Section 1425(d) As assistant instructor shall meet the following minimum qualifications:<ul><li>
A baccalaureate degree from an accredited college which shall include courses in nursing, or in natural, behavioral or social science relevant to nursing practice;</li><li>
Direct patient care experience within the previous five (5) years in the nursing area to which he or she will be assigned, which can be met by:</li></ul></li><li>
One (1) year&rsquo;s continuous, full-time or its equivalent experience providing direct patient care as a registered nursing in the designated nursing area; or</li><li>
One (1) academic year of register nurse level clinical teaching experience in the designated nursing are or its equivalent that demonstrated clinical competency.</li><li>
Instructor: an approved instructor by the BRN which is bachelors or master&rsquo;s-level prepared and teaches theory/clinical courses and coordinates the designated nursing area in both theory and clinical settings; instructors are typically content experts who teach theory and supervise assistant instructors and clinical teaching assistants.
</li><li>Assistant Instructor: an approved assistant instructor by the Board who is baccalaureate-level prepared and teaches in a designated nursing area.</li><li>
Clinical Teaching Assistant: an approved clinical teaching assistant is approved by the BRN with at least one-year continuous, full-time experience as a registered nurse in a designated nursing area within the past five (5) years.

Responds to complaints/inquiries by listening attentively and demonstrating concern. Follow up- up on identified concerns appropriately.</li><li>

An instructor/faculty member in the Nursing Program is directly responsible and accountable for

The curriculum integrates essential Anatomy &amp; Physiology concepts with core Fundamentals of Patient Care to prepare students for safe, competent, and compassionate entry-level practice, as well as successful completion of state certification requirements to prepare them for the New York State Nurse Aide Certification Exam, the required credential for employment in NYS healthcare facilities. Structured review sessions are incorporated throughout the program to reinforce learning, strengthen critical thinking, and support exam readiness. CNA course provides the foundational training needed to succeed in this rewarding career. Through comprehensive classroom instruction and supervised clinical experience, you&rsquo;ll learn essential skills in patient care, infection control, safety procedures, body mechanics, communication, and cultural sensitivity.CPS is currently seeking Continuing Education Teachers (CETs) in our expanding Allied Health programs to support program delivery and ensure operational excellence. Successful candidates will demonstrate expertise in current CNA instructional practices and the ability to design and deliver curriculum aligned with federal and NYS training and competency standards.CPS programs integrate rigorous didactic online instruction with hands-on clinical training, creating a dynamic and interactive learning experience. CETs must have a combination of three important factors: national certification, clinical competency, and instructional ability. Instructional Planning and Delivery: Prepare and organize course materials in advance, maintaining current syllabi, lesson plans, and classroom resources. Deliver content in a clear, engaging, and accessible manner tailored to diverse adult learners. Ensure the course is fully compliant with federal OBRA regulations and state nurse aide training guidelines. Utilize Mosby&rsquo;s Textbook for Nursing Assistants as the primary instructional resource to provide students with a strong foundation in body structure and function, emphasizing the interrelationship of body systems and the maintenance of homeostasis in health and illness. Implement an evidence-based curriculum that prepares graduates to meet professional standards and employer expectations across a range of healthcare settings.2. Compliance and Program Integrity: Ensure all instruction and course materials accurately reflect program descriptions published on CPS platforms. Collaborate with CPS Allied Health program staff and the PT Nurse Coordinator to review, track, and manage student medical documentation and clinical clearance requirements, maintaining full compliance with state and federal regulations (e.g., NYSED, NYSDOH). Maintain ongoing communication regarding curriculum updates, safety protocols&mdash;including biohazard procedures&mdash;and required student waivers to support program integrity and regulatory compliance.3. Establish and Maintain Effective Learning Environments: Collaborate with CPS staff to implement and sustain effective classroom management strategies across in-person and online learning environments. Apply knowledge of the nursing process, standards of care, and sound clinical judgment in all instructional activities. Ensure classrooms and clinical labs are safe, fully equipped, and compliant with program requirements and national and state standards, preparing students for success on the NYSDOH Certified Nurse Aide examination.4. Compliant Curriculum Design and Optimization: Partner with CPS staff to design, implement, and continuously refine standards-aligned curricula and syllabi that support course and program objectives and comply with NYSED and NYSDOH requirements. Utilize a strategic blend of instructor-led and student-centered teaching methods, incorporating authentic, high-quality assessments that measure student learning, skill development, and competency mastery. Ensure alignment with current industry standards, regulatory requirements, and best practices in healthcare education.5. Collaborative Student Support: Proactively communicate with CPS staff to highlight student achievements, address challenges, and identify opportunities for instructional improvement. Foster an inclusive, positive, and well-managed learning environment that encourages active participation, professionalism, and academic success.6. Assessment and Record-Keeping: Evaluate student learning through assignments, skills practice, and formal assessments. Maintain accurate, up-to-date records of attendance, grades, and student progress, and ensure timely submission of final grades and all required documentation to CPS.7. Professionalism and Cultural Competence: Uphold the highest standards of professionalism, confidentiality, and sound judgment when handling sensitive information. Demonstrate cultural competence and an understanding of adult learners&rsquo; diverse needs, including those of immigrant and workforce populations.8. Administrative Excellence: Manage administrative responsibilities effectively, including consistent communication with program staff, timely submission of timesheets, and the ongoing review, revision, and submission of updated curriculum materials.Minimum Qualifications and Requirements:<ul><li>Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) and a current New York State Registered Nurse (RN) license.</li><li>Minimum of five (5) years of practical nursing experience, with a significant portion in long-term care or a skilled nursing facility.</li><li>At least three (3) years of instructional experience that includes curriculum and syllabus development.</li><li>International credentials must undergo professional evaluation. Job Description
We are seeking an instructor dedicated to excellence in teaching who desires to make a difference in the lives of our students. This teaching assignment is located on the Austin Campus. The instructor may be assigned to teach in a traditional classroom, a virtual (online) classroom, or both (multimodal).
Activities related to comprehensive community college teaching and learning, including but not limited to:<ul><li>Instructional planning and delivery;</li><li>Teaching and facilitating student learning;</li><li>Curriculum planning and development;</li><li>Assessment of student performance;</li><li>Classroom management;</li><li>Maintenance of professional skills and credentials;</li><li>Participation in department meetings, coordination activities, and college-wide committees</li></ul>
The candidate must be able to work cooperatively with faculty and staff, demonstrate knowledge of and experience in assessing student learning outcomes, participate in department meetings and college-wide committees, and maintain ongoing professional development activities.
Salary Range:
$43,067.00 - $98,660.00
The initial salary range is up to $71,893. Full-time faculty work a 171-day contract during a nine-month academic year (mid-August to mid-May).
Minimum Qualifications
Education Requirement<ul><li>
Graduate degree with a major in nursing, -OR-</li><li>
Bachelor's degree in nursing and a graduate degree in support of the field of nursing and/or education.</li><li>
A nursing program director must hold a graduate degree in nursing, nursing administration, nursing education, public health nursing or a nursing clinical specialty.</li></ul> 
Occupational Experience Requirement<ul><li>
Two full-time years (or equivalent) of verified related paid work experience as a registered nurse at the professional level.</li><li>
As a registered nurse at the professional level, experientially qualified to accomplish the mission, goals, and expected student and faculty outcomes; including experiential preparation in the areas the faculty will teach.</li></ul> 
Recency Requirement<ul><li>
One year of this work experience shall be within the five years immediately preceding the date of application for the credential field. The recency requirement shall be waived if the individual has two years of successful full-time (or equivalent) postsecondary teaching experience in the credential field within the last five years.</li></ul> 
Professional Requirement<ul><li>
Current unencumbered licensure as a registered nurse (RN) with current registration in Minnesota.</li><li>
Other Requirement: Compliance with clinical affiliate policies for attending on-site clinical teaching assignments.</li></ul> 
Teaching and Learning Competency Requirement<ul><li>
Training that must be completed within six semesters of hire:</li><li>
In accordance with Board Procedure 3.32.1, Part 8, faculty hired into unlimited positions have 6 full semesters to complete the Teaching and Learning Competency Requirements. These seven courses are provided to new faculty, at no cost, through the Minnesota State Network for Educational Development. Faculty members can take these courses one of three ways: asynchronous online, hybrid 2-weekend intensive, and weeklong intensive.</li><li>
Some courses may be waived for individuals who are the time of hire have: a degree in education, or have documented evidence of successful completion of equivalent coursework in the specified teaching and learning content areas, or have three years of successful, full-time (or equivalent) secondary, postsecondary, industry, or trade apprenticeship teaching experience in the field for which they are being hired.</li></ul>
 Preferred Qualification<ul><li>
Doctor of Nursing Practice (DNP).</li><li>
Experience teaching/tutoring all levels of nursing.</li><li>
Experience with data collection and continuous improvement analysis.</li><li>
Experience with simulation, nursing skills labs, clinical instruction, and lecture(curriculum) development.</li><li>
Bilingual/multilingual fluent in Spanish, Karen, Karenni, Somali, Pohnpeian, French, Nuer, Anuak, or other languages that reflect our student body, workforce, and communities.</li><li>
Demonstrated experience working with multicultural and underserved populations.</li></ul>
