<p><i>*This is an on-site position only.</i></p><p>Pennington Biomedical Research Center, a world-renowned academic research institute of Louisiana State University, is seeking a Research Specialist in the Pediatric Obesity and Health Behavior Laboratory.The Research Specialist will assist with management of operations for multiple clinical trials, primarily occurring in medical clinics and community settings, for the Pediatric Obesity and Health Behavior Lab. <div>This position will serve as a Senior Clinical Research Regulatory Coordinator within the Department of Surgery in the Division of Vascular Surgery. The Senior Clinical Research Regulatory Coordinator is responsible for regulatory management for multiple and/or concurrent or complex studies, including meeting regulatory-based objectives and deadlines (e.g., IRB submission approvals, IND/IDE submissions, regulatory binder creation, etc.). Under direction of a Research Clinical Trial Operations leader, the Lead Clinical Research Coordinator CTO will independently coordinate and will be accountable for the overall administration and outcome of multiple clinical studies within the Clinical Trials Office, requiring advanced-level knowledge and skills, involving human subjects that are being conducted within the Nicklaus Children's Research Institute. Ensures processes are in place and roles are defined in order for studies to be conducted smoothly and compliantly, avoiding delays or errors with patient registration/enrollment and/or documentation and in accordance with protocol requirements. Responsible for subject recruitment (screening, consenting support and enrollment), follow-up, data management (entry and reporting), detailed record keeping, regulatory compliance, report writing, and correspondence with investigators, IRBs, sponsors, CRO's and regulatory authorities. <b>A Brief Overview</b><br>
Under the direct supervision of the Principal Investigator and/or other study team members, this role provides experienced support in the conduct of clinical research.<br>
<br>
Job responsibilities may include human subject research activities including but not limited to subject enrollment, data/sample collection, data entry, and regulatory submissions support.<br>
<br>
<b>What you will do</b></p><ul><li>
Providing technical and clinical support in the conduct of clinical studies:</li><li>
Filing and office organization</li><li>
Patient/research participant scheduling</li><li>
Patient/research participant history</li><li>
Data collection/extraction from electronic medical record systems and entry into project databases and platforms</li><li>
Data management, including assisting with quality control and data review</li><li>
Laboratory procedures</li><li>
Research Study Compliance</li><li>
Adhere to IRB approved protocols and compliance with HIPAA and handling confidential materials</li><li>
Support the safety of clinical research patients/research participants</li><li>
Comply with Institutional policies, SOPs and guidelines</li><li>
Comply with federal, state, and sponsor policies</li><li>
Additional Responsibilities may include:</li><li>
Participate in the informed consent process for study subjects</li><li>
Document and report adverse events</li><li>
Maintain study source documents</li><li>
Submit basic IRB reports</li><li>
Assist with IRB/regulatory submissions</li><li>
Complete case report forms (paper and electronic data capture)</li><li>
Follow-up care</li><li>
Order materials/supplies</li><li>
Schedule research meetings</li></ul><p></p><p><b>
Education Qualifications</b></p><ul><li>
High School Diploma / GED - Required</li><li>
Bachelor's Degree - Preferred</li></ul><p></p><p><b>
Experience Qualifications</b></p><ul><li>
At least one (1) year of relevant clinical research experience - Required</li><li>
At least two (2) years of relevant clinical research experience - Preferred</li></ul><p></p><p><b>
Skills and Abilities</b></p><ul><li>
Basic knowledge of IRB and human subject protection.</li></ul><p><b><br>
