Summary:
The Clinical Supervisor position is someone passionate about being a clinical/licensure supervisor of the IHFR team (1 team), and licensure supervision to 8-10 clinical trainee therapists. This position is seeking someone looking for variety in their work, from supervising clinical trainee therapists and interns to completing diagnostic assessments for treatment clients and overseeing innovative programs. Responsibilities include individual and group clinical/licensure supervision, cultivating, supporting, and leading a strong clinical team.
The Clinical Supervisor will support anti-oppressive/anti-racist practice, and trauma-responsive practice, through their administrative and operations support of program staff working on site and in community to address socioeconomic and health disparity. Experience and interest in working with clients with a range of identities including age, developmental and acquired disabilities, religion, spirituality, ethnicity, race, socio-economic status, sexual orientation, relationship structure, indigenous heritage, national origin, immigration status, and gender is required.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:<ul><li>
Provide individual and group clinical supervision, leadership, and administrative supervision for therapists, interns, behavioral health practitioners and case managers.</li><li>
Provide clinical and administrative supervision for the In-Home Family Recovery (IHFR) program.</li><li>
Review and approve clinical documentation to ensure quality, compliance, and adherence to agency standards.</li><li>
Provide licensure supervision to licensure candidates, maintain accurate and timely clinical records, correspondence, and reports.</li><li>
Cultivate staff engagement and lead monthly group supervision and team meetings that foster group collaboration.</li><li>
Promote and model frequent feedback, performance development coaching, and holding staff accountable for meeting performance expectations.</li><li>
Make case assignments and oversee workloads and workflow.</li><li>
Participate in the recruitment, hiring, onboarding, and training of new staff.</li><li>
With support from program staff, define clear goals and measures of program success, collect and analyze data, evaluate outcomes, and develop and implement strategies for continuous improvement.</li><li>
Identify and cultivate opportunities for sustainability and innovative growth through enhanced, new or expanded programs.</li><li>
Serve as a liaison to other agencies and community groups helping to cultivate RWC as a top-of-mind, trusted, top-quality service provider; thought leader; and strategic partner.</li></ul><ul><li>
Develop, recommend, and implement policies and procedures ensuring compliance with human resource rules, state statute, and assessment and case management best practice and standards.</li><li>
Facilitate continuous process improvement of systems and programs by determining needs and improvements, developing plans, developing policies, procedures, and evaluating outcomes for services.</li><li>
Oversee the Economic Justice Lab, including program implementation, coordination, and outcomes monitoring.</li></ul>
Qualifications/Experience:<ul><li>
Master's or doctoral Degree in Psychology, Social Work, or related field from an accredited graduate program</li><li>
Minnesota professional license at the LICSW, LP, LMFT, or LPCC level as Board Approved Supervisor</li><li>
Minimum of five years of experience providing psychotherapy to individuals, couples, and family on a wide range of clinical issues</li><li>
Minimum of three years of experience hiring, training, and supervising multiple staff or students, in working with evidence-based approaches to work with individuals, children, adults, couples, and families in a clinical setting preferred</li><li>
Working or otherwise developing relationships with people from diverse backgrounds, such as differences related to culture, religion, financial resources, race, national origin, age, gender, gender identity and expression, sexual orientation, and abilities</li><li>
Specific expertise with certain populations (e.g., children, adolescents, couples, older adults) encouraged to apply</li><li>

Essential Activities and Tasks
Operations Management and Administration - 55%<ul><li>
Facilitates clinical team with the coordination and oversight of all direct and indirect patient/family care services ensuring accurate evaluation of patient/family physical, emotional, psychosocial and spiritual needs, and development and implementation of comprehensive care plans that address those needs by following current hospice nursing professional standards of practice and agency approved protocols. Supervises the implementation of the physician ordered hospice plan of care, by coordinating, auditing, overseeing, integrating, and modifying the IDG resources necessary to reach desired outcomes.</li><li>
Oversees Hospice IDG review, revision, and documentation of the individualized plan of care as frequently as the patient&rsquo;s condition requires, but no less frequently than every 15 days.</li><li>
Organizes and oversees hospice IDG (interdisciplinary group) meetings which are held no less frequently than every15 days.</li><li>
Interprets operational indicators to detect census changes and increases/decreases in volume that could drive staffing levels, revenues, and/or expenses.</li><li>
Evaluates and approves the clinical documentation and approves electronic medical record workflow according to established standards.</li><li>
Reviews diagnosis coding and plan of care orders for all hospice patients in accordance with Medicare regulations.</li><li>
Assures all equipment, systems, and monitoring are in place to meet or exceed quality, customer service, utilization, and compliance standards in all company hospice programs.</li><li>
Collaborates with marketing team to manage processes, protocols, and timeliness of all referrals to meet the comprehensive needs of the patients.</li><li>
Manages the local component of the integrated electronic medical record and assures that the office and clinical staff are well trained and use the system productively and accurately according to company policies.</li><li>
Evaluates the effectiveness of the plan of care for hospice care delivery and collaborates with hospice clinical supervisors and hospice staff on best practice and desired outcomes.</li><li>
Evaluates workflow processes, administrative processes, and departmental processes.</li><li>
Monitors and maintains hospice revenue cycles and collection cycles and ensures accuracy in documentation and coding.</li><li>
Conducts supervised patient visits.</li><li>
May be asked to case manage to meet business needs.</li><li>
Participates in on-call rotation, as needed.</li><li>
May assume the role of Alternate Administrator during the temporary absence and/or vacancy of the Administrator.</li></ul>
Quality and Compliance Management - 30%<ul><li>
Audits and maintains current and accurate medical records and clinical documentation in accordance with company standards and federal, state, and local standards, guidelines, and regulations.</li><li>
Ensures action is taken to correct problems identified through clinical record review, clinical audits, and fiscal audits.</li><li>
Maintains knowledge of requirements of regulatory agencies, accrediting bodies, and third party payers.</li><li>
Oversees the state survey processes, mock survey, and compliance audits. Maintains a state of readiness for survey by regulatory bodies.</li><li>
Serves as a resource to clinical team for questions and/or concerns regarding federal and state regulations, approved accrediting bodies, and professional standard of practice.</li></ul>
People Management and Development - 15%<ul><li>
Supervises the hospice clinical team to operate within the allocated resources and budgeted goals, efficiencies and productivity standards.</li><li>
Fosters a positive work environment that attracts, retains, and motivates employees.</li><li>
Interviews, selects, and orients new direct reports.</li><li>
Defines, establishes, and promotes performance expectations so direct reports understand and demonstrate excellence through high quality and consistent performance.</li><li>
Evaluates job performance of direct reports in accordance with the company policy and procedure and provides developmental guidance to staff for improved performance and growth.</li><li>
Monitors accountability with organization requirements prescribed by the Employee Handbook. Documents and engages employees who are routinely not observing these requirements in an effort to achieve compliance. Works with Human Resources when circumstances arise that necessitate further documentation and intervention.</li><li>
Participates in the development, planning, scheduling, conducting, and monitoring of in-service training programs, on-the-job training, and orientation programs for departmental staff.</li><li>
Ensures that there is a reasonable and sufficient plan for staffing should a direct report be absent or a direct reporting position be vacant.</li><li>
Responds timely and thoughtfully to questions, requests, and work product from departmental staff that has been provided for review and approval.</li></ul>

Qualifications
Education<ul><li>
Current unencumbered license for the state of Ohio to practice as a Registered Nurse (RN) required.</li><li>
Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred.</li></ul>
Experience<ul><li>
Three years experience in clinical operations supervision required.</li><li>
One year experience in a hospice setting required.</li><li>
One year experience in a Medicare-certified home health agency required.</li><li>
Proficiency with Windows, Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint), and the internet required.</li><li>
Proficiency with electronic medical records (EMR) preferred.</li></ul>

<li>Daily patient activities: Handles incoming calls timely, and follows up as necessary to ensure appropriate actions are taken to meet the internal and external customer needs.</li>
<li>Coordinates training and educational programs for nurses within the field to improve clinical outcomes and competencies.</li>
<li>Assesses staff learning needs and formulates specific plans and goals for next evaluation period with employees, performs administrative call duties, and serves as a role model and resource for staff.</li>

<li>Coordinates at least bi-weekly Case Conferences with clinical team to discuss patients' progress and for revision of the care plan as needed to meet planned outcomes.</li>
<li>Reviews and evaluates each case by reviewing the services provided by clinicians, conferences, record review, discusses and verifies impressions, instructs and guides clinicians to promote more effective performance and delivery of quality home care services, and is available at all times during operating hours to assist clinicians as appropriate.</li>
<li>Reviews patient&rsquo;s clinical diagnosis, medications, procedures and clinical course.</li>
<li>Assists clinicians in establishing immediate and long-term therapeutic goals, in setting priorities, and in developing a plan of care.</li>

<li>Two years management or supervisory experience in a rehabilitation therapy department or program, preferably home care.</li>
