<div>PURPOSE OF THIS POSITION
The Clinical Support Associate is responsible for the smooth and effective operations of the clerical, billing, admission/registration and patient scheduling aspects of the office. Also responsible for financial tracking of revenues. Collaborates with the Department RNs, Supervisor, Physician and Director.
JOB DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES
Duty 1: Enters all patient demographics, charges and insurance information with complete accuracy as well as hospital postings of all adjustments and dates of service. Inputs all facility charges. Ensures timely completion of chart per hospital policy.
Duty 2: Schedules all patient appointments in an efficient manner to accommodate patients, physicians and staffing schedules. Makes appointment confirmation calls to patients one day prior to their scheduled appointment. Establish a system to track cancelled appointments and reschedule those patients. Collaborates with the Physician and/or Clinical Supervisor in scheduling emergency patient visits. Helps schedule follow-up test/procedures that are required before the patient leaves the office.
Duty 3: Prepares the patients charts, seeks information for consultations and follow up visits, gathers insurance cards, etc. accurately and timely to keep department flow organized, physicians satisfied and patient quality care.
Duty 4: Maintains and updates as necessary a list of insurance plans that each physician participates in. Ensures preauthorization and medical necessity are obtained for the facility (and other referrals as necessary.
Duty 5: Helps patients understand billing issues and provides them with the appropriate contacts to help them understand their office bills and EOB&rsquo;s.
Duty 6: Communicates patient care issues accurately and timely to nursing and physicians.
Duty 7: Maintains a scheduling system for patients on a rotational basis for physician assignment, based on insurance participation, medical staff by-laws and physician preference.
Duty 8: Completes daily assignments and prepares for the next day efficiently and timely to keep office flow smooth and patients satisfied.
Duty 9: Monitors all office and department supplies. Observes and reports to appropriate personnel or other establishment any necessary repairs and/or problems, related to the maintenance of office and surroundings.
Duty 10: Ensures correct diagnosis is entered at time of consult.
Duty 11: Greets patients upon entering the facility.
Duty 12: Answers and manages incoming telephone calls in a pleasant and efficient manner.
Duty 13: Other duties as assigned.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS<ul>

High school graduate or GED equivalent</li>
<li>Computer literacy required (Word, Excel)</li>
<li>Positive service-oriented interpersonal communication and organization skills</li>
</ul>

Associate Degree in Business Administration/Systems.</li>
<li>Medical Office Assistant training.</li>
<li>Previous office/unit administration experience.</li>
<li>Knowledge of Medical billing and ICD-10 codes.</li>

PHYSICAL DEMANDS
This position requires a full range of body motion with intermittent walking, lifting, bending, climbing, squatting, kneeling, twisting, sitting and standing. The associate will be required to walk up to two hours a day, sit for four hours a day, and stand for two hours a day. The individual must be able to lift 50 pounds and reach work above the shoulders. The associate must have good eye/hand coordination and fine finger dexterity. The individual must have excellent verbal communication skills to perform daily tasks. The associate must have corrected vision and hearing in the normal range.</div>

Job Description:
The Nebraska Department of Correctional Services (NDCS) is seeking a resilient Clinical Support Specialist to join our mental health team at the Reception and Treatment Center. This role works under the direction of the Mental Health Supervisor to provide essential care within a correctional residential setting. The Clinical Support Specialist role requires a collaborative professional dedicated to ongoing mental health training and the delivery of high-impact, structured support.

DUTIES
<ul><li>Lead psychoeducational classes. Interact with incarcerated individuals to instruct and orient to mental health residential units and programming.
</li><li>Provide verbal de-escalation for residential/programming participants. Provide input into individualized treatment plans. Participate in multidisciplinary team meetings, staff meetings, and informal consultations.

Minimum Qualifications: Associate&rsquo;s degree in criminal justice, behavioral science, human services or related field OR two years of experience working with persons referred through the legal system. Must be at least 18 years of age. No felony or domestic abuse related convictions.
Preferred Qualifications: One year of corrections experience or experience working in the mental health field.
Other: Requires a valid driver&rsquo;s license to occasionally transport inmates. Transcripts required at time of appointment. Must pass a background check. Applicants accepting a job offer must pass the following pre-employment exams in this order: medical exam, and at a randomly announced time pass a drug test. Must successfully complete the fully paid Nebraska Corrections Training Program.

Job Summary and Qualifications
The Clinical Support Coordinator supports high quality, patient-centered care by directing and providing feedback, guidance, and mentoring to new graduate nurses and/or nurses that are transitioning to a new specialty. The Clinical Support Coordinator supports multiple units, providing direction, education, and accountability on the hospital&rsquo;s standard of nursing practice, policies, and procedures to ensure compliance with all accrediting and regulatory agency requirements.
Major Responsibilities:

Performs rounds on each nursing unit, continuously observing, evaluating and assessing the quality of patient care, and identifying nursing educational needs. Escalates concerns about nursing skills, patient care, policies, processes, and equipment as appropriate.
</li><li>Utilizes skills of observation. Provides feedback on nursing assessments, nursing diagnosis, planning, intervention, and evaluation of patient care.
</li><li>Provides feedback and mentoring on patient assessments and care planning.
</li><li>Provides assistance with performing or troubleshooting specific skills.
</li><li>Maintains IMobile phone for easy contact by new graduates or nurses within scope of support.
</li><li>Tracks requests to identify most commonly requested skills for purposes of enhancing orientation &amp; education.
</li><li>Fosters teamwork and contributes to achievement of team goals.
</li><li>Attends rapid responses and codes as needed, to observe, provide feedback, and debrief, facilitate education, direction, coaching before, during and after the rapid response or code as indicated.

Serves as an example of professional nursing practice and promotes pride in nursing for the organization, the community, and the health care industry.

Maintains a professional appearance and demonstrates behaviors consistent with established policies/procedures.

What qualifications you will need:
<ul><li>Bachelor's Degree in Nursing is Required
</li><li>Master's Degree in Nursing or related field is Preferred</li><li>
2+ years' experience as an RN is Required
</li><li>1+ years' experience in a leadership role and 1+ years' experience as a preceptor are Preferred
</li><li>Currently licensed as a registered professional nurse in the state(s) of practice and/or has an active compact license, in accordance with law and regulation is Required.</li><li>
Basic Life Support (BLS) within 30 Days
</li><li>Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) within 30 Days</li><li>
