 The Clinical Research Assistant (RA) provides foundational support in the conduct of clinical trials at the site level. Working under the direct supervision of a CRC II, CRC III, or Site Manager, the RA assists with operational, administrative, and participant-facing tasks to ensure studies run smoothly and in accordance with ICH-GCP, regulatory requirements, and protocol guidelines. <b>Key Responsibilities</b><ul><li>
Manage multiple clinical and basic science research projects at once. Navigate electronic medical record systems (PowerChart and Epic) used at Boston Children&rsquo;s Hospital, and gain medical knowledge if desired. Use REDCap Electronic Data Capture service to create easily accessible yet secure online databases.</li><li>
Read through patient charts/medical documentation to collect data and enter data into database. Screen, recruit, and obtain informed consent from eligible patients and families during clinic visits for enrollment in prospective studies, ensuring compliance with IRB and HIPAA standards. Monitor data collection for quality and HIPAA compliance.</li><li>
Consult with clinical teams as well as research support staff to meet study goals and protocol requirements.</li><li>
Participate in collaborative projects and initiatives. Perform basic statistical analysis on data, with opportunities to learn more advanced statistical programming if desired. Work closely with the department&rsquo;s biostatistician to create and prepare data.</li><li>
Draft, manage, and review Institutional Review Board (IRB) or Institutional Animal Care and Use Committee (IACUC) study protocols.</li><li>
Collection, statistical reports, and analytical summaries for distribution to research team for review and analysis. Prepare abstracts and manuscripts for submission to medical journals and national conferences. Perform other miscellaneous administrative duties as assigned or required.</li></ul><br>

</b></p><p>HJF is seeking a <b>Clinical Research Assistant I </b>HJF to perform data collection by conducting research interviews. The Clinical Research Assistant will recruit and screen subjects for research studies and collect baseline and follow up data from subjects. This is the first of four levels of clinical research assistants and works under the guidance and direction of senior staff.
</p><p>This is a Phase 2 randomized, double-blinded, placebo-controlled study that will evaluate multiple potential therapeutic interventions for PTSD utilizing an adaptive platform trial design and cutting-edge techniques for measuring outcomes. Subjects are randomized among the multiple cohorts in the study and the resulting randomization enables sharing/pooling of control subjects, where all interventions may be compared to a common control (placebo). This position will also support the development of research on psychedelic-assisted therapy with an emphasis on MDMA-assisted therapy for PTSD.
</p><p>This position will be in support of the Department of Psychiatry / Center for the Study of Traumatic Stress.
</p><p>The Center for the Study of Traumatic Stress (CSTS) is one of the nation's oldest and most highly regarded, academic-based organizations dedicated to advancing trauma-informed knowledge, leadership, and methodologies. The Center's work addresses a wide scope of trauma exposure from the consequences of combat, operations other than war, terrorism, natural and humanmade disasters, and public health threats, as well as risk and protective factors associated with suicidal behaviors.
