Overlake Medical Center and Clinics is currently seeking Patient Care Technicians (CNA) for our Perioperative Care Unit. This unit is responsible to prepare patients for surgical procedures. Patient populations include Cardio/Thoracic, Gynecology/Oncology, Bariatric, Orthopedics, Urology, Podiatry, Vascular, and General Surgery. The Patient Care Technician provides direct patient care to patients and their families under the supervision of a Registered Nurse.</h2>
0.75 FTE /30 hours per week
10 hour evening shift / Schedule TBD
Qualifications<ul><li>
Nursing Assistant Certification (NA-C) required</li><li>
High school graduate or equivalent required.</li><li>
Completion of a Certified Nursing Assistant Training Program or equivalent documented nursing training experience.</li><li>
1+ year working in a hospital environment as a CNA strongly preferred.</li><li>
Medical Assistant Registered (MA-R) also required (Overlake Hospital will sponsor this licensure upon hire)</li><li>
Health Care Provider CPR Certification required.</li><li>
One year recent experience in a health care setting involving patient contact preferred.</li><li>
Knowledge of medical terminology and computer familiarity is preferred.</li><li>
Excellent customer service, oral and written communication skills.

<div><div>The Patient Care Technician (PCT) performs a variety of functions in the clinical setting. The PCT provides direct patient care, performs phlebotomy and EKG&rsquo;s. The PCT collaborates with and works under the direction of the registered nurse to provide appropriate and safe patient care. The PCT utilizes the Hospital information system to order diagnostic tests and therapies and obtain patient information and test results. The PCT supports the Mission, Vision, and Values of the hospital.</div>

<ul><li>Follow attendance standards and expectations. Has minimal tardiness or absenteeism.</li>
<li>Complete all hospital wide mandatory educational programs.</li>
<li>Complete all orientation requirements and departmental competency testing requirements.</li>
<li>Participate in continuing education activities.</li>
<li>Adapt to floating to other units when required.</li></ul>

Key Responsibilities
