Department Description</b></p><p>
The Electrophysiology/Arrhythmia (EP) APP position in the Betty Irene Moore Children&rsquo;s Heart Center is an opportunity to join a dynamic, collaborative, and supportive team of electrophysiologists and APPs in delivering state-of-the-art heart rhythm care for children and their families. This position is located in Palo Alto, CA at Lucile Packard Children&rsquo;s Hospital - Stanford (LPCH) and involves supporting the EP service in both outpatient, inpatient, and perioperative settings.</p><p>
The EP patient population primarily served by LPCH includes children with structurally normal hearts and patients with congenital heart disease from birth through early adulthood (~21 years). Through our partnership and collaborations with the Stanford Medicine Adult Congenital Heart Disease (ACHD) Program, we also service patients with congenital heart disease and heart rhythm abnormalities later into adulthood. Common diagnoses include supraventricular tachycardia, ventricular tachycardia, inherited arrhythmia syndromes (Long QT Syndrome, Brugada Syndrome, CPVT), and various cardiomyopathies (hypertrophic, dilated, and others). As part of the Betty Irene Moore Heart Center, we see the full spectrum of congenital heart lesions and care for a diverse and vibrant patient population.</p><p>
Specific duties for the Electrophysiology APP role at Lucile Packard Children&rsquo;s Hospital Stanford include:</p><ul><li>
Preoperative history taking, physical exams, diagnostic testing, and education for families and patients undergoing procedures in the Electrophysiology Laboratory (EP Lab).</li><li>
Postoperative management and discharge for patients having undergone procedures in the EP Lab.</li><li>
Interrogation and management of implantable cardiac rhythm devices including pacemakers, implantable cardiac defibrillators, and implantable loop recorders in the outpatient, inpatient, and device implant procedure settings <b>(on-the-job-training will be offered)</b></li><li>

Responsibilities:

1. Clinical Care</b></div><div>
The Physician Assistant (PA) or Nurse Practitioner (NP) provides assessment, triage, and therapeutic management of patient and family needs throughout the disease process as an integral member of an interdisciplinary team. The NP/PA provides optimal patient care in inpatient, ambulatory, and outpatient settings, from diagnostic through prognostic management.</div><div>
The NP/PA works in collaboration with the attending supervising/collaborating physician(s) in accordance with state law, hospital regulations, hospital policy, protocols, and clinical pathways, and may provide autonomous, team-based care as appropriate.</div><div>
Responsibilities include obtaining medical histories, performing physical examinations, ordering and reviewing diagnostic and therapeutic tests and radiologic results, and formulating and managing patient treatment plans. The NP/PA may perform procedures and prescribe treatments and medications in accordance with institutional and state guidelines and within specialty scope and professional competency standards. In some clinical specialties, the NP/PA may have autonomous practice managing specific patient populations.</div><div>
The NP/PA may function as a first or second assistant on operative cases, when within position scope and educational and credentialing requirements are met, utilizing fine motor skills and manual dexterity. Other clinical duties may be assigned in accordance with departmental and operational goals, including responding to emergency situations within YNHHS parameters.</div><div></div><div><b><br>
2. Patient Education &amp; Psychosocial Support</b></div><div>
The NP/PA educates patients and families on care plans and recommended or available resources. In collaboration with the supervising/collaborating physician, this may include admitting instructions, treatment plans, actual and potential side effects of treatments and medications, and discharge planning.</div><div>
As part of a multidisciplinary team, the NP/PA provides psychosocial support to patients, family members, and significant others in a caring, ethical, and professional manner.</div><div></div><div><b><br>
3. Information Management</b></div><div>
The NP/PA ensures appropriate documentation in accordance with hospital and regulatory requirements and protects patient information in all forms, including electronic, paper, film, voice, or other media, from unauthorized access, modification, destruction, or disclosure.</div><div></div><div><b><br>

Qualifications:

Education</b></div><ul><li>
Graduate from an accredited Nurse Practitioner or an accredited Physician Assistant Program.</li></ul><div><b>
Experience</b></div><ul><li>
Clinical working experience as an NP/PA in the specialty/service line is preferred but not required.</li><li>
APRNs, PAs, CRNAs, and CNMs must be appointed to the Affiliated Medical Staff of a YNHHS hospital and go through the Medical Staff credentialing process. To be eligible, evidence of current competence to practice as an APRN, PA, CRNA, or CNM must be provided. This includes obtaining appropriate reference letters from physicians and other practitioners during the Medical Staff appointment process.</li></ul><div><b>
Licensure</b></div><ul><li>
Active PA Certification by the National Commission of Certification of Physician Assistants (NCCPA), Connecticut State Physician Assistant License, ACLS/BLS Certified, when indicated for position profile DEA License.</li><li>
Pediatric position profile PALS, when indicated for neonatal care NRP Certification.</li><li>
Additional licensure, certifications and/or continuing education credits may be required during employment based on position and area of specialty. Job Summary:</b></p><p>
We are seeking a skilled Nurse Practitioner (NP) or Physician Assistant (PA) to provide expert, patient-focused wound care services ion out outpatient Wound Clinic on a Part Time basis. The Ideal candidate is experienced in wound assessment, treatment planning, and management, and is comfortable working independently in a rural hospital setting. The Position will help support all aspects of care within the Wound Clinic. The NP/PA will provide medical care to patients as outlined in their collaborative agreement under the oversight of their supervising physician in the Specialty Clinic. Knowledge and advanced skills with advanced physical assessment and treatment of complex wounds, management of skin integrity and chronic care management is required.</p><p><b>
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:</b></p><ul><li>
Accurately performs history and physical examinations on patients with acute and chronic wounds.</li><li>
Assess, diagnose and manage chronic conditions for patient population.</li><li>
Identifies deviations from normal, initiates and evaluates treatment for patients with commonly occurring health problems within scope of practice.</li><li>
Consults, co-manages or refers as appropriate.</li><li>
Prescribes medications as delegated in the protocols and/or office staff regarding any changes in patient&rsquo;s condition.</li><li>
Communicates with collaborating provider as outline in collaborate agreement and state guidelines.</li><li>
Develops, implements and/or participates in research or educational activities.</li><li>
Maintains competency in clinical practice and meets and maintains requirements for all certifications.</li><li>
