Upward Bound is seeking applicants to fill Instructor positions for our annual 6-week summer program; June 8th &ndash; 26th 2026, July 6th &ndash; 24th 2026. Selected applicants may start as soon as May 26th 2026, or as agreed upon to begin course planning and cover other administrative duties. Courses will be taught in-person at the Peoria Campus of Illinois Central College. Students take 4 courses each day between 9am - 3pm, Monday, Tuesday, and Thursday, Field Trips on Wednesdays, and 9am-12pm on Fridays for 6 weeks. Instructor schedules are negotiable. Minimum Qualifications</b></p><ul><li>
Bachelor&rsquo;s degree</li><li>
2 full-time (or equivalent) years of verified related paid occupational experience as a pilot and/or flight instructor, including a minimum of 200 hours of dual instruction.</li><li>
1 year of this work experience must be within the five years immediately preceding the date of application for the credential field.</li><li>
The recency requirement will be waived if the individual has two years of successful full-time (or equivalent) postsecondary teaching experience in the credential field within the last five years.</li><li>
Must also hold Certified Flight Instructor &ndash; Airplane (CFI) and Certified Flight Instructor Instrument (CFII) credentials.</li></ul><p></p><p><b>
Preferred Qualification</b></p><p>
Competency to teach Aviation Pilot program courses such as:</p><ul><li>

Adjunct Physics Instructor needed for Diagnostic Medical Sonography program. This is an accelerated, 10-week quarter-based program, located in Jeffersonville, IN.<br>

Immediate Supervisor:</b> Campus Director, Director of Academic Operations.</div><div><b>

Job Summary:</b></div><div>
Adjunct instructors are required to provide instruction and monitor learning/teaching effectiveness in courses assigned by the Program Director. They are responsible for, but are not limited to, the following:</div><ul><li>
Teach the following course(s): 1. General Physics.</li><li>
Prepare and, on the first day of class, distribute course syllabi which informs the students as to absences, tardiness, testing, assignments and grading policies.</li><li>
Inform students of their progress by promptly returning assignments, quizzes, tests and homework.</li><li>
Compile, administer and grade instruments that evaluate student progress.</li><li>
Encourage the use of school resources, outside library and internet sources.</li><li>
Counsel students and notify student and Program Director of frequent absences, failures, or necessary make-up work.</li><li>
Hold all assigned classes on time in the assigned classrooms and be available to students 15 minutes before class, except between classes (if teaching courses back-to-back), and 15 minutes after class to offer guidance/tutoring to students.</li><li>
Follow procedures related to the Registrar&rsquo;s office, including grade papers and deadlines, attendance record reports, withdrawal deadlines, midterm reports and the like.</li><li>
Follow the academic calendar and procedures.</li><li>
Direct library research or other outside assignments.</li><li>
Promote Caris College programs and curricula.</li><li>
Update syllabi, as needed.</li><li>
Substitute for colleagues when necessary.</li><li>
Provide a safe environment for students and be responsible for the security of assigned equipment, materials and classrooms.</li><li>
Perform other duties as assigned by the Program Director/Campus Director.</li></ul><div><b>

Must meet ABHES, KCPE and BPE instructor qualifications.</li></ul><br>
