The Commodity Manager - Aftermarket obtains the best quality, service, and value for products and services through effective bidding, negotiation, and supplier management. Responsible for developing, negotiating and administering major or highly complex and high-risk subcontracts, ensuring compliance on supplier cost, schedule, legal and performance criteria. Manages all material related issues pertaining to new program development and serves as the main focal point for varied outsourcing projects.<div>
Essential Functions 
<ul><li>Responsible for and directs all phases of the subcontract from initiation of the business case for make or buy decisions through requests for proposals, subcontract management plans, negotiation strategy, and cost accountability.</li><li>Serves as the division's focal point for all material related design and concurrent engineering activities including developing a procurement plan, make/buy analysis, selecting potential sources of supply, and recommending new or alternate technologies. Maintains material status, chairs material meetings, and prepares required analysis and reports. May maintain current status towards design-to-unit cost goals aimed at obtaining cost effective designs.</li><li>Selects qualified suppliers and manufacturers and develops new supply sources of high dollar value, long lead time, critically needed parts, equipment, materials, or service. Assumes the lead role in selection and negotiation for unique or customer-sensitive subcontracts.</li><li>Gains customer confidence in overall subcontracting capabilities. The salary range OR the hourly range for this role is 150,000-175,000. This is the range that we in good faith believe is the range of possible compensation for this role at the time of this posting. We may ultimately pay more or less than the posted range. This range may be modified in the future.
This job is also eligible for bonus/incentive pay.

 PURPOSE OF THE POSITION
 
 
 
 
 
 
 The purpose of the position is to manage suppliers and sourcing strategies within the assigned commodity in order to ensure the best balance between cost, quality, and delivery performance. The role contributes to achieving company targets through effective negotiation, cost optimization, and continuous improvement initiatives. The position plays a key part in building long-term partnerships with suppliers and supporting product development by ensuring the availability of competitive and innovative components and materials.
 
 
 
 
 
 
 ACTIVITIES AND AREAS OF RESPONSIBILITY

 Manage suppliers and define sourcing strategies aligned with business and category objectives.
 </li>
 <li>
 Prepare and launch RFQs, collect and analyze quotations, perform benchmark and investment studies, and lead supplier evaluation and nomination processes based on Total Cost of Ownership (TCO) principles.
 </li>
 <li>
 Use purchasing tools such as spend analysis, cost breakdown, and BOM analysis to support sourcing decisions and identify savings opportunities.
 </li>
 <li>
 Monitor market trends, emerging technologies, supplier roadmaps, and changes in legislation to proactively adapt sourcing strategies.
 </li>
 <li>
 Drive and implement cost reduction projects and conduct regular negotiations to secure best-in-class purchasing conditions.
 </li>
 <li>
 Collaborate cross-functionally with internal stakeholders including Product Management, R&amp;D, Quality, Planning, and Sales to support new product introductions and ongoing production needs.
 </li>
 <li>
 Ensure supplier performance in terms of cost, quality, delivery, and payment conditions, applying corrective actions when necessary.

 Continuously scout and qualify new suppliers to expand and optimize the global supplier base.
